Anyone else not a fan of their dr?
Heres my reasoning...
So I switched to an OB closer to my house when I got pregnant but she's a total B! She called to tell me my bloodwork came back normal so while I was on the phone with her, I asked her what to do about morning sickness, thinking maybe she had a different solution she could quickly share. Instead of a quick answer, she gave me a 2 minute lecture on how she didn't have time to sit here and talk to me and if I have a question, I need to come in to the office for an appointment. Really? She could have just thrown anything out there instead of her speech. Needless to say, I switched back to my old OB who is worth the drive. But now, her office won't return phone calls or send my records. Apparently, people have complained about this on Yelp and I just saw so I'll be adding to their complaints! I'm wondering if I should just show up there after work today since they haven't returned my 4 phone calls or send the records yet!

I haven't actually met my Dr. yet - I don't go for my first visits until 10 weeks which seems sooo far away! (I'm 7w2d today), but I've had to call a few times with random questions about medications/unusual cramping, etc & the nurses I've talked to have been incredibly patient & kind. However, the scheduling staff - not so much. It took me three tries to finally get my first appt set up & they made me feel like I was annoying them by calling to ask to schedule an appt...which is what they do! I could actually hear her sigh on the phone as she said, "And when was the first day of your last period?"
@Kaessi, sorry to hear that about your doctor. When I scheduled my first appointment, they weren't very friendly either. But my first visit was yesterday, and before leaving the office, SO had a brilliant idea. He told me to schedule all my appointments for the next 3 months, since it'll be monthly visits, and that way we can get the late appointments (4PM). The lady at the front desk, happily obliged. Just a tip, for when you go and visit.

With dd, I chose an ob close to my house, and at my first appointment I waited for over an hour before the actual appointment. Then waited another 20-30 mins for the nurse to come in to my room for blood draws, etc. Then at least another 20-30 for the doctor to come in for the ultrasound. That was my last appointment with her and I was so happy when I switched. You're paying (presumably) a lot of money for the services you receive. You should be 100% happy with your provider. I would absolutely switch if I were you, her attitude was ridiculous. And yes, just show up...I imagine there is a medical records transfer form you have to fill out anyway. Good luck!

Maybe you just caught her on a bad day, in the middle of a long string of phone calls, when the previous caller would not shut up. Or maybe not.
