so usually I can get DD2 to move her butt out of my ribs, but today she got annoyed and has jammed herself more in my ribs. Not cool kiddo, not cool at all.
I forgot to bring lunch today. Then remembered I had tortillas in the kitchen and cheese dip in the fridge. Totally just made chips in the toaster oven....it was anti-climactic tasting, but at least the hunger monster is gone for now,
so usually I can get DD2 to move her butt out of my ribs, but today she got annoyed and has jammed herself more in my ribs. Not cool kiddo, not cool at all.
Mine likes to kick back at me when I push her out. Recently, she's been going to the other extreme and punching my cervix in retribution.
IT'S 71 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!!! In Iowa, in March! That never happens! Like, seriously, I had a friend get snowed on at her outdoor wedding the last weekend in April a few years ago.
Also, this means I got to bust out my maternity shorts from DD (June baby) so I have another pair of pants that fit! It's a good day.
I met with HR today and learned that I have enough time banked that with my short term disability, I will have the first 9.5 weeks of my leave paid in full and then we can cover the rest with our tax return - while still being able to get new brakes on DHs car and a new mattress before baby comes. I am *elated* - seriously, I could cry happy tears today.
Finances throw me into anxiety and DH doesn't get it, but hakuna matata and bring on some baby snuggles!
Oh oh and I found out that with our new company merger and benefits enhancement, I get to return to work on a reduced schedule for the first 4 weeks back - 3 days/wk for weeks 13/14 and 4 days/wk for weeks 15/16 and still get paid for a full 40 hours each week.
@sprocketsngadgets I know I was approved for OFLA, but I still have absolutely no idea if I'll be getting paid for my six weeks off. I talked to my HR person today, and she thinks I will. I told her what I want her to do if I don't. She also said that if I go into labor at work to call her and not our ERT. She said she'd take me to the hospital, since it's pointless to call people who will have no clue on how to evaluate me.

@mrstrax I'm so excited about it, especially since it also means that I won't have to PAY for the ambulance ride. She even told me that she doesn't care if my water breaks at work--she's just going to take me to the hospital and let the hazmat people know that they need to come clean up after the fact.

Mine does this as well and cervix kicks are not fun!
I feel bad for complaining about the company I emailed in my TTT. They called me instead of emailing me back about a half hour ago to let me know that the stuff I wanted to look at before buying should show up in store tomorrow or the day after. That was sweet of them to actually call and update me.
Does the Babies R Us registry completion discount really not come until after your due date?
I received 10% off the rest of the items off my registry about a week after my shower but the "endless earnings" program (cash/back whatever it is called) doesn't come for weeks after the due date apparently. i also found out that the purchases I made off my own registry do not count towards the BRU rewards program but do count towards the "endless earnings". There's a lot of fine print.

So Amazon completion discount doesn't count for everything on the registry. Just a heads up in case anyone was wondering. (I'm slightly pissed)
I had to stop working altogether today. I'm really not happy about it. I'm supposed to have a student demonstrator for my class because right now I can barely move and the person who is going to take over my class for the next few weeks has no clue what I do in my class. (Pretty normal to have a completely different class structure for lower levels in the dance world) The girl they've had doing it is really good with the kids, and I work well with her but she is five minutes late EVERY week, and has missed 6 classes since the start of the new year. It's the second week of March, and she has missed 6 classes, which wouldn't be as big of a deal if she ever contacted the studio about it, or even me, but instead she tells my sister that she's friends with and they tell me. I want her fired because she is not reliable and clearly isn't taking this seriously. For whatever reasons the studio owners won't do anything about it. So tonight was fun! I got to find out that she wasn't coming an hour before my class started and I was laying in bed crying trying to put on a pair of pants and barely making that happen. I told the studio owners I'm supposed to be on medical leave anyway, and I honestly can't teach that class without help at this point, so I'm going to do today and be out until after LO arrives. He got pissy with me about it saying that he was expecting me through spring break unless I went into labor. I got pissy back and said I was expecting an assistant to actually show up and co run my class when I made that commitment. When I get back from LO coming I don't need an assistant in the class anymore, so she won't need to be bothered showing up.
So I got to teach tonight without a demonstrator, and I'm having severe contractions after leaving there. Fucking four year olds and their preference for jumping >.< I'm going to miss my little monsters the next few weeks, but I honestly can't do it on my own at this point. Ugh I know I don't need to explain myself on here about it, but I feel like I'm letting everyone down because of physical limitations
Oh and I got harassed tonight outside of a gas station. So that's cool... Definitely an ego boost to be called "sexy Prego mami" while having the other people in your wicked awesome street gang blow kisses at me and make lewd gestures towards me. Seriously. I just wanted a fucking Reese's Fastbreak -.-

-QBF- All of the above sucks, but if someone spoke to me like that at this point I would probably lose my shit. Kudos on not writing that post from jail.
@RoseShadow873 that's about how much we're going to save too. Stupid...
@AmadorRose I'm seriously in too much pain to be bothered to even comment to them. A couple weeks ago I might have ended up in jail though... I don't deal well with catcalling...
I must have gotten lucky. About 80% of my registry is eligible for the discount. Does anyone know is there's a way to tell before hand? Is it just items that are fulfilled by Amazon?

I was able to get 1/2 of the things I still needed off my Amazon registry with the discount. Plus the welcome box was badass.
While dinner was cooking in the oven, DH and I took some time to hang photos, artwork, and some mirrors up on the walls. Our apartment is actually starting to look like a home instead of a storage unit.
I needed to do something happy and productive, since I had a breakdown in the car on the way home, since I realized that I probably won't get the birth experience that I want (again). With how things are going, I'm probably going to be induced again for pre-e, which is not what I wanted. Due to how early all of this is happening, I'll likely end up being induced late March/early April, which doesn't leave me much time to get things set up.
@Knottie9983816 When we were in Key West in the fall (where I was definitely visibly pregnant since I started showing at 9 weeks) we were walking around Duval street at night. There was this group of guys, very "Key West appropriate", that were sitting out with their guitars playing music, with this sign that said "Pregnant women are sexy"...I felt so incredibly awkward walking by them and they were leering super weirdly, it was so creepy. I was really glad DH was with me.

@imrachellea Umm, what?! Who makes a sign like that?! LOL glad your DH was there too!!!!
So... I'd been having blood pressure and protein in urine issues (first enough protein to diagnose pre-e but BP was 130s/88... Then high enough BP in the ER 140s/90s but no more protein) and all of the sudden, I started feeling awesome. No more headaches, no more blah feeling, in fact, I feel really freaking great! And my BP has been steadily decreasing... It was 107/72 this AM which is crazy low compared to what has been normal for me. Hell yah!!!! No idea what I did or what happened to reverse the climbing path it was on but I'll take it!!!!
3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3) - #3 due March 30!
@WBORDERS it shows me next to each item if it's discount eligible
Does it show you before you add the items to your registry?
@WBORDERS it's any item that is both sold by and fulfilled by Amazon. I was able to get quite a few of my items with the completion discount, although I did have to go back and replace a few things that were sold by other suppliers for maybe $1 less than Amazon sells them for. We saved nearly $50 on about $300. I thought the Amazon completion discount was way better than Buy Buy Baby's (which I still haven't actually received), not to mention a lot easier to use and with way better shipping.
Funny Amazon story from yesterday...I logged into my account to check on shipping of some orders that are supposed to arrive this week. I see my cart shows 42 items in it...hmmm, that's weird. Click on the cart and it's filled with bikes, helmets, stand-up paddleboards, life vests, etc. Assume immediately that my account got hacked and start freaking out getting ready to change all my passwords and call my credit card. Shoot DH a text telling him this, and he replies back "I will explain". So 15 minutes later he finally calls me and explains he was doing a price comparison for one of his company's properties that is looking to buy this stuff for residents to borrow. Apparently he doesn't know that you can set up shopping lists on Amazon to do that without actually putting stuff in your cart and giving your wife a heart attack.
Of course I have the toddler at daycare that takes one look at a hill, jumps on a ride on car, speeds down said hill, then flips over and hits her head on something. DH and I really need to start an emergency room fund. That kid is going to need it
So does anyone know how it works here? Does everyone start to gradually disappear to have their babies until the only people left in the April group are the late ones/people due at the end of the month? And then after them it's just dead here? Or do people still come on with like baby questions and stuff?

On my last BMB a lot of us stuck around for months. I remember discussing plans for our LOs first birthdays. Not everyone sticks around, of course, but we all come and commiserate together about what is hard and enjoy sharing squishy baby pictures
Guess who is GBS positive. AND allergic to penicillin... Not sure what they do in that case since they haven't asked me what medications I'm allergic to since I started at their practice. (I know. I know) I just did a Dr Google search and found out they use penicillin for the treatment during labor. So... Now what?

They'll just put you on a different antibiotic. Pennicilan is a pretty common med allergy but just make sure they know you're allergic.
@Knottie9983816 there are other antibiotics that they can give you during labor. But DEFINITELY make sure both your dr and the hospital staff know about your allergy!

Lots of new and creative questions start to emerge after the babies are actually born (I.e "my baby stuck it's head in the dog's mouth wtf?!") The other month boards are still super active, though some people will drop off it will eventually turn into a parenting check-in and advice board.
Does the Babies R Us registry completion discount really not come until after your due date?
It's supposed to be mailed to you 6-8 weeks PRIOR to your DD *BUT* I think they try to get out of offering it by "mailing it" rather than doing like Target does and giving you multiples to print out. I had to ask BRU for mine and they gave me a little slip to use at the register. You can't use it online which is super lame. Target is way better except for BRU has that 10% cash back reward thing.

How annoying! Geez, yeah I'm almost 5 weeks from my due date and haven't gotten it and I don't live close to a BRU so I was hoping to use it online. How disappointing!

I imagine most of us will revert to the FB group. I really only bump at work and FB is just easier in general.
