Happy Tuesday! Are the weeks rolling by, or is it just me?!
Three things today:
1. I can't eat enough to be satisfied, and definitely can't sleep enough to be satisfied. Baby growth spurt I think.
2. I think I mentioned this last week, but I found these awesome chairs on Craigslist to go with my kitchen table. 6 for $80! I started sanding them down and will refinish the upholstery and stain. I'll post a side by side when they're done if I can remember.
3. I have an Ob appt tomorrow and I know that I'll be getting my Rhogam shot. Ouch! This also means that I'm in the homestretch which makes me very, very happy!
Re: TTT
2. Anyone else get some serious abdominal cramping after eating certain foods? For about the past two weeks every time I eat a breakfast sandwich or a muffin my whole stomach cramps up for a good couple minutes, maybe I should stop eating breakfast sandwiches and muffins
3. Not sure if they were Braxton hicks, but last night as I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, my whole uterus got super super crampy and painful, this happened several times, ironically every time I was just starting to fall asleep.
4. DH has only been gone since Friday and I'm already bored out of my mind. This is going to be a VERY long pretty much 11 months with him gone.
5. I'm psychologically nesting. I have a mental list of things I need to/want to do around the house but getting myself to actually do them is another story.
6. I really need to get to work on the nursery. It's looked the exact same as it does now since we moved in 2 months ago, whoops!
7. I just want to sleep ALL DAY LONG.
8. I really hate that I'm pregnancy-allergic to all berries because I'm craving ALL the berries. Too bad my body tells me I'm allergic in such a horrendous way, otherwise I'd still eat them.
9. Sometimes I wish I could send my dogs away for just a couple days at a time. Training them while pregnant has proven a very difficult task.
10. Today seems like it's going to be a really nice day out, guess I should pencil a walk into my very unbusy schedule!
2. DH is working from home on Wednesdays which means - NO alarm tomorrow morning. Getting up at 4:00 every morning is draining.
3. I just had a bowl of cereal for lunch. And it was awesome. I want another one but I'll be good and skip it.
4. Busy reading the Green Mile. Enjoying it so much.
5. My parents are on a road trip through the country. They've seen it all - but they are going to try and stop at as many coffee shops as possible. It is very likely that they are bigger hipsters than us
6. My invites for the baby shower should have gone out last night - we usually do e-vites cause our postal service is unreliable.
7. Baby Boy is kicking up a storm - my whole tummy moves now - it is entertaining to watch. I think he's a big boy! Tall like his daddy.
8. It has cooled down today with the promise of rain - jay!! Hopefully the season will start turning then. 6 months of full on summer has been too much on this pregnant lady.
9. My DH is the greatest and I honestly don't think that he gets enough credit for this. I can only hope my boy one day will treat his ladies as well as I get treated. Blessed!
10. Might be saving on two big payments next month (no car and no healthcare payments because they are both in a transitioning period). Which means that we can finish the last of the baby stuff and put some extra in our savings/mortgage - super stoked!!!
2. DS is getting better at catching and I'm so excited! Yesterday, he caught an 8' ball with his hands that I tossed to him from 5 feet away
3. Just as I was getting frustrated with feeling like I was doing way too many chores (more than my share) DH did dishes and cleaned the kitchen while I put DS to bed last night.
4. I'm pretty sure the swollen feet freak him out and are a visual reminder that I'm doing too much sometimes.
5. I want all of the Cheerios (and milk) right now.
6. We had our maternity/family pictures done over the weekend. The photos look great and it was so much fun!
7. The visit with FIL and SMIL had some ups and downs, but overall it went well. I'm glad they made it out to visit.
8. DS's 2nd birthday is in a month. I needed to order invitations, like, yesterday. I think that will be my lunchtime project today.
9. I wish I could get someone else to grade papers for me. I'm so done with that aspect of teaching right now. (I'll still do it...but I have such little patience for it lately.)
10. I somehow managed to not buy DS spring-weight PJs. I have everything else bought and ready...how did I miss this? An after-work Target trip is in order because it's warm this week (and will be warm for spring) and little dude is going to sweat in fleece footsies, but it's still too cold for the set of shorts-pjs he has for really warm summer nights.
@ncm0328 I would get super crampy after I ate a PB&J sandwich. Of course I start to freak out and wonder if LO is allergic to peanuts. Is that even possible to be allergic in the womb? Thankfully, I stopped cramping after a while.
1. I am getting my rhogam shot today. If given the choice is it better to get in in the arm or the hip?
2. Tonight we our having our OB tour. Im really excited to see the rooms. It is a wonderful hospital with its own maternity building. Each birthing room has a tub that I fully plan to take advantage of. I think there was a separate thread for hospital tour questions but I can't find it. Can someone link it for me?
3. My MIL has yet to set the date for my shower. Its pretty much set for April 9th, but she has to make sure nothing else is set for that date. I talked to her about this a month ago and every time it is brought up, even with DH, her answer is "Yeah, I need to look into that"
4. Baby moon in 4 days. Looking forward to relaxing by the beach with friends.
1. Was supposed to be headed to a smaller community for work today, but the weather network is calling for freezing rain so I called it off. Yay to a full day with no clients to catch up on paperwork!
2. I forgot to chug some water when I got up this morning so my hands are starting to swell. Oops.
3. My shower is this Sunday and I am super excited for it. I know nothing about it except for the guest list.
4. DH and I might be viewing a house this weekend. My hopes aren't super high for it, since the price seems too good to be true, but we'll see.
5. I actually had a decent sleep last night. But I'm still tired.
6. I'm starting to get worried about what sort of footwear I'll be able to pull off for my last few weeks of work. It's still going to be winter here for quite a while.
BFP #1: 9/12/2015
DD: 6/1/2016
BFP #2: 1/16/2018 MC 2/2/2018
2. Today is Michigan primaries so I'm voting! If you're in Michigan you should too!
3. The weather this week is supposed to be high 50s & low 60s! So happy about the good weather.
4. Had my 1 hour glucose test yesterday - I feel like I'm the last person on here to have their's done. Hopefully I passed!
5. I also had my last monthly appt yesterday and begin biweekly appts.
6. My Dr talked to me about labor & delivery and a general birth plan yesterday that's required by the hospital.
7. I had a dream last night that I apparently told my husband it was ok to date another lady and it was kind of like Sister Wives. Idk if this dream happened because I've been following the Bachelorthis season. But, it was horrible. I was incredibly jealous and heartbroken. When I woke up I told him about it and he laughed and told me "Oh Turd, the only girl I love other than you is Harper!" Turd is my nickname.
8. I'm going shopping at the outlet mall this weekend...hopefullyI can find myself a new pair of shoes (Toms or Sperrys), some springy maternity tops & good clothes for Harper! I still need her coming home outfit.
9. My Dr office just called - I passed my glucose! Woohoo! However my iron dropped so I need to start taking a supplement.
10. My sister comes home from Alaska in 23 days & my shower is in 25 days! I'm excited to see her!!
2. I'm getting my hair done today and I can't wait.
3. My mom is visiting for a few days. I love when she comes by DD totally acts like I don't exist when grandma is around. Ugh.
4. It's about to storm here - I love thunderstorms!
5. I made potatoes au gratin last night and I could've eaten the whole pan. It was a lightened up version but still far from good for you. Oh well. It was worth it.
2. Still stressed over where LO will be born. The hospital said they were closing but said it would be several months before anything happened. The next day a picketing protest was announced. The day after that, the hospital stated that they were closing in a week's time, rather than "several months." So everyone is scrambling to get hospital privileges at another hospital in the area, which BTW is not possible to do in 7 days time. Thursday I went for my appt and my doctor told me he knew which hospital it was going to be. Fine. An hour after I leave his office, the State issues a mandate that the hospital stay open pending a public hearing bc apparently it's against the law to just up and close a medical facility without the Dept of Health assessing the community's need. Then on Monday I hear that the hospital is going to close anyway, in violation of the DOH order. There is supposed to be another update within the next few hours. Sorry that was so long.
3. I'm going to attempt a prenatal yoga workout from Daily Burn tonight.
4. I'm having bagels for lunch. On that note, I wish it was lunch time.
5. I initiated my short-term disability claim for 39 weeks. That means after this week I only have 6 more weeks of work. Yeah, I know it's only Tuesday, but still.
6. My shower is the 20th and I'm really looking forward to seeing people that I haven't seen in awhile. Especially my Mom, because she lives about 1000 miles away so I only see her a few times a year.
7. I'm also excited to be let off the baby purchases leash after the shower
8. My mom's also planning to come up before the birth (unless baby has some surprises in store for us), which is awesome because she can stay with my dogs while we're in the hospital & then we don't need to worry about getting them to a kennel once I go into labor.
9. I sat in a lot of traffic this morning so I listened to a lot of Green Day.
10. I'm hungry, as usual. Since it's not lunch time, it must be snack time!!
2. I think I can say that I don't have a belly button anymore. it hasn't popped out or gotten flat; it's just closed.
3. I just met my health insurance deductible, but guess when my new insurance year starts? April 1.
4. I was trying to get ready for work early so that I could get breakfast from Chick-fil-a. Didn't happen, so I may go get it for lunch.
5. I'm going to talk to my boss either this week or next week about the possibility of me working from home one day a week after maternity leave. I have no idea what she'll say.. Here's hoping for a yes!
6. The baby bedding I ordered from Etsy won't be in for a few more weeks, but that doesn't stop me from checking if it's shipped every single day.
7. DH's cousin is pregnant with # 3, and she posted a link to her registry on Facebook yesterday "in case anyone wanted it." She has two $550+ strollers on there. I'm side-eyeing pretty hard, especially considering her older kids are 2 and almost 3, so it's not like there's a big age gap. ETA: I know people create registries for the discount, but she's posted multiples times about "We need x, y, and z for the new baby."
DS1: May 2016
DS2: Jan 2019
Baby #3 EDD: 6/18/24
2. My sciatica has eased a bit because LO shifted to my other side, thank goodness!! I'm still dealing with back/hip/pelvis pain but I don't have intense sharp pains down my left side when I walk anymore! It's like a whole new world.
3. Really excited for our shower on Saturday! I always feel a little anxious when things are about me so hoping sharing the spotlight with my H and the LO will make it easier. I know it is silly but I can't help worrying people won't have fun and will wish they hadn't come.
4. My H and I saw Zootopia this weekend and I really loved it. It was worth dealing with the crowds and long lines.
5. I'm freaking out about labor & delivery. It's scurry.
6. I'm obsessed with chocolate milk lately. It's just so good.
7. I don't really mind the comments about my bump but if another person tells me that I'm waddling I might lose my shit. Yes I know I'm waddling like a giant, sweaty penguin, but thanks for noticing lady at the dog park.
8. Yay for mild weather! I've got to do one last bit of maternity shopping to get me through the end because everything that fits is for cold weather.
9. I find shopping for nursing bras stressful because who knows how big my boobs are going to get and they're already effing huge. How do people figure out what size to get beforehand?
10. Is it Friday yet?
1. I am sooooo hungry right now.
2. My baby shower was back home on Sunday and it was great. My mom busted her butt for it and did a great job.
3. It's been fun putting away all the things in LO's nursery and starting to wash her little clothes.
4. My ankles are so swollen and pitting.. I press my fingers into them to see how bad it is and then get grossed out
5. I am 30 weeks and have another OB apt tomorrow.
6. It's suppose to reach almost 80 here today... yayyyyyy! come on summer!
7. Baby girl was pretty active earlier and she keeps balling up against my belly and giving my stomach extremely odd shapes.
8. Did I mention I was hungry? Not sure where I'm running to for lunch yet.
9. My 2nd birthing class is tonight.. 7-9.. ugh.. but kind of looking forward to it. I'll attend this one solo tonight.
10. I haven't decided if I should start my maternity leave early or plan to work until I deliver??? How do you ladies determine this? Especially you other first time mommas.
@kp90 I originally planned to work until my due date, but now I'm leaving at 39 weeks. I made the decision based on a)how progressively crappy I feel
We live 10 minutes from the dog beach and are there all the time . You should go and enjoy.
2. I think I've given up my hope of cloth diapering... my husband said he will try it, but everything he says is about the stuff he has heard that is negative, and I just feel like I'll get frustrated with him so I'll quit anyways. It definitely makes me sad.
3. For the past two days, I've tried on 3 outfits to find one that fits. I guess I'm in denial about the growth.
4. I had a chocolate chip waffle for breakfast.
5. But I earned it because I got up to work out at 5 a.m.
6. My dog turns four tomorrow... and I'm the dog mom who orders a cake from the bakery. I'm so excited.
7. I feel like I've been MIA on the boards since work has been so busy, and I miss it.
8. I had lunch with DH and his boss yesterday, and it warms my heart to hear his boss talk about what a good guy DH is. I know it, but I love when other people say it.
9. He also told my husband 'happy wife, happy life' and that chocolate is a pregnancy staple so that made me feel good too!
10. Work baby shower for a guy in our office on Friday - yay for baby shower cake!
2. Little girl has been MORE active since my slip and slide. Which is both awesome and weird- but my Dr. said it's nothing to worry about.
3. I have decided that for the time being I hate stairs-mostly because I get out of breath WAY easy.
4. I'm still going through an obsession with puzzles
5. I'm also going through an obsession with shelves- we need more shelves at our house.... and we don't have the money to buy them
6. WHY AM I OUT OF BREATH JUST SITTING DOWN??
7. It's going to be 76 degrees today, and of course this is my day to work 12-9 because of a program. I'm missing all the lovely weather and I can't open my office windows- not that I would because there is a wasp nest right outside but still
8. Yesterday I did ALL the laundry. I stopped short of taking the cushion covers off of the sofa to wash them.
9. Pregnancy cravings don't care about food allergies and it's annoying me. Luckily mine is minor enough I can take pepto and mostly be ok.
10. Sleep?
2. and hungry, but trying not to gain too much weight. haha
3. The weather here is better than expected!
4. The twins turn 2 next Monday!
5. They are coming to the OB office with me this afternoon. Generally I try to have them have a Gram play date when I have appts, but not today. I'm tired just thinking about it.
6. My SIL played with them all day yesterday, so I can't complain.
7. about 60days til we meet baby3!! We don't have an exact c/s date yet.
8. My neighbor is throwing us a Sprinkle with the neighbor-ladies on April 2nd! Can't wait to celebrate!
9. My Lenten commitment was to refrain from buying clothes - infant, toddler, ladies, and maternity. Those robes yesterday were temping! I liked the belabumbum nursing dresses! But I haven't broken yet. Well, I did buy a bra extender. Can we agree that doesn't count?
10. next on the to-do list: trade in my car for a minivan! Hope we can find a gently-used one!
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
2. I'm so anxious to book my c section. I say this all the time.
3. My mom got us a 6 month diaper subscription. What a great gift!!
4. Going on DD's field trip Friday. Excited for a day off and to spend with my daughter. Even if it's with 100 other 3rd graders.
5. My 8 year old is blaming her farts on her unborn sister. Life with 2 girls will be interesting but I can't wait!
6. Dh has a family reunion the 1st weekend in April (3 weeks before I'll have the baby). It's a 4 hour drive away. I don't think I want to go. It's in AZ. It will probably be hot as hell, have to meet people I've never met before, and I'm sure I'll be way over the pregnancy.
7. I went to the gym this past weekend which is no easy task. Hard enough finding clothes to fit me, but my daughter and I made it there to find out that kids club is closed b/c some kid pooped in there the night before. We ended up going for a walk/ bike ride. But I guess it's a sign I just need to freeze my gym membership until after the baby.
Thank you. @swfljd I don't have the option to work from home. I'm one of two nurses here in our clinic so I'm on my feet and up and down a lot. Which is what leads me to believe in the next 6 weeks or so I will feel like tapping out. My boss knows I planned on working til my due date but my FMLA was approved for 12 weeks so if need be I could start it early and just let him know once I make up my mind. Just wish I knew how I'd feel closer to May.
Mine was my DH and I, but I got a new phone and now it looks like it is an elephant? Is that just how mine is showing or do y'all see a different pic?
haha usually my husband blames the dog!
2. I should have my results Thursday, good or bad... They call either way. Trying not to worry until then.
3. I really don't want to find a new doctor at 31 weeks so I really hope I pass. If I don't the midwife practice considers me high risk and can't see me anymore.
4. While I was waiting during my test I got to see a less than day old baby. One was born at the birthing center last night. It made me really excited for things to come.
5. I'm really glad I took the whole day off bc while I felt fine when I was done, I'm now about to pass out. Nap timeee.
6. A new burger place opened by us yesterday and I used my test today and the fasting as an excuse to get DH to stop there on the way home so I could try their veggie burger. It was worth it.
7. Working from home tomorrow, class tomorrow night, lab results Thursday day, and pediatrician meet and greet Thursday night. Busy next few days.
8. Trying to find a top for the shower I'm not supposed to know about is proving more difficult than I thought. I can't find anything that I 'love'.
9. DH ended up winning about $175 on the lottery. I got mad at him the day before for buying the ticket so he said I get nothing and it all goes to the baby now. Lol.
10. Nap time for real now. So tired.
2. My not so great Sunday curling team made it to the championship game???? Unfortunately we have to play DH's team and I have never beaten him
3. Baby classes at the hospital start this week! Dr says she thinks they show birth videos the first day, way to welcome everyone to class
1. I'm traveling a lot for work this week, so I'm hoping I don't get too tired.
2. I have my first childbirth class tonight. My husband is out working, so I'll be there by my lonesome.
3. I tried on a couple dresses in a store today and man, those fluorescent lights were doing me NO favors. I hope this cellulite that I've recently acquired sees it's way out soon after baby.
4. Two weeks until I can use my completion discounts! I did registries at Amazon and Target. My shower is on the 20th, so the timing is perfect.
5. I got my breast pump through insurance last week. Someone else mentioned they were oddly excited about it. I definitely was, too! My insurance covers 90% of the cost, but I have to meet my deductible. I'll just have the pump go toward my total deductible ($750), but I'll have my flex account pay for it.
6. Our crib was delivered yesterday. It will just have to wait in the box until next week for my H to set it up once he's home from work.
7. Our glider is supposed to arrive on Thursday. I feel like I'm keeping these shipping companies in business!
8. I'm so excited for baby to get here.
9. I have a lot to do at work before I'm ready for leave.
10. Last night I finished a course I needed to take prior to sitting for my CFP - certified financial planner exam. I still can't decide whether or not I want to take the July or November exam. It's only offered three times per year. July might be a little too soon after baby... I'm not sure.
2. I also got something in the mail about Medicaid from AARP?
3. DH finally and begrudgingly agreed with me to go to the childbirth and labor classes.
4. Our christmas stockings are still up.
5. Absolutely nothing has been done to the baby's room. It's still entirely DH's game room, and it is freaking me out.
6. DH does not seem to understand how difficult pregnancy can make it to just move around, or why I'm more tired.
7. I'm probably more involved in planning my baby shower than would be considered proper... part of this is my mom is a wee bit of technophobe. She only uses a computer at work and she doesn't own a cell phone. Basically, I'm being charged at this point with printing out invitations and collecting the RSVPs (my parents don't have an answering machine for their landline, either).
8. When I got home from work I kind of wanted waffles... then I decided that putting a frozen waffle in the toaster was too much work so I had Doritos instead.
9. I checked out prenatal yoga DVDs from the library, but I am probably going to return them unwatched. Again.
10. I want a nap, but it's MIL's birthday today so we have to go over there for a bit - despite having gone to lunch with them on Sunday in celebration, and then spending an additional six hours at their house afterwards.
I don't have 10 things today . . . ETT for me instead :P
