I am 20 weeks plus 5 and we found out we are having a girl we have already decided her name will be Naomi Rae. My husband and I both love it and we can't agree on any other names
Ladies, I would love your opinions/help with names. Our son is Cooper Davis and our daughter is Brylee Grace, and we are having a difficult time picking out a name for this little guy.

I like Bodie Briggs or Hobie Briggs
DH likes Porter Walker
I would combine one from each of your preferences. Porter Briggs, Walker Briggs, or Briggs Walker. Bodie and Hobie both seem more fitting as cute nick-names while a boy is little.

I love Hobie after the character in the Goldfinch who's pretty much the kindest most patient and understanding man in the world-- with that being said it was the nn for James Hobart, but it's my favorite novel so I'm loving it. Hobart could possibly be used as the first name though it's traditionally a surname. With your sibset though Hobie would fit. What about Hobie Porter or Hobie Walker?

I just read the goldfinch! Great book. Kind of a mindf*ck because you root so hard for Theo through all of his antics.

Yup! I'm not sure I've ever cared so much about a character in a novel as much as Theo--- and Boris I think may just be hands down my fave character in all of literature. Theo and Boris~ still a better love story than Twilight
My this thread is long, as I just read through all 24 pages! I'm not even going to bother quoting and tagging.
I just want to say how much I LOVE this thread. Honest opinions but nothing mean. I lurked over on the name board and that's a tough crowd. We have a gender neutral name picked for our girl name (I'd get eaten alive on the name board for it) and not once on this thread have I seen someone hate on that idea or even a girl with a traditionally boys name. You ladies rock!

Love, love, love Porter! But I am a fan of Bodhi <---spelled this way as well. I am not a fan of the -er endings in Porter Walker, so I agree with the others....maybe mix it around a little, so they both aren't ending in -er. Another one that came to mind when I was reading your list, was Brooks. Brooks Porter Lastname, or Brooks Walker Lastname.

I pretty much hated Theo. I mean, I felt bad for/rooted for him anyway, but I think all the other characters rock so much harder than him. Boris is amazing.
My name is "Brooke" and even with that as "normal" spelling for my name I get asked quite often if my name is "Brookie" because of the "e" so even if she just uses brook maybe she wouldn't run into that same problem ever. @hallgire
Ladies thank you so much for your opinions. I think we may have it down to three options with some compromise from both of us, lol!! This sweet child may be the only one of our children that is named after they are born. Boden Briggs Boden Porter Briggs Porter

I've never heard the name Boden before, but it's so cute! I like Boden Porter the best
How do we feel about Tessa? I'm still not digging Amelia even though my husband is in love with the name.
@TattoosandLace I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tessa. Amelia is pretty but I definitely vote for Tessa. DH vetoed, just like everything else. I don't know any Tessa's but I know a few Tess's and they are just the most lovely women/girls so I also have great associations with the name.

Any MN suggestions? I'm still playing it close to my chest since he shot down Teagan already this week. DD is Blakely Dawn. Dawn is more his style than mine.
@TattoosandLace I think Tessa is so so pretty and sounds good with Blakely. I'm terrible at thinking up names, so no suggestion on MN until there's something to vote on. I would think one syllable, but that's all I have to offer.
@TattoosandLace, Tessa is adorable. It sounds like your H is into more classic names, so maybe something like Tessa Grace, Tessa Ann, Tessa Lynne.. (partial to this spelling, it's my MN )
@TattoosandLace I personally am not a big fan of names that end in "uh" (even though my name has that...) so I would also vote for Tess. And maybe Amelia as the middle name: Tess Amelia #compromise. (My dad picked my middle name, which, coincidentally, is the one that ends in "uh" lol)
I love Tess (know one now who is seriously awesome), and am more neutral about Tessa (knew one, she was less than awesome). More of a personal association with the name(s) since they are legit and spelled correctly.
For middle names I like: Ann, Katherine or Kate, Marie, Grace, Lynn

Hmm... Any other names you or your DH have discussed? I know Amelia and I think Anne was the potential middle name, right? I don't really like either of those with Tessa (because of the double A). I remember there being an alternate middle name you were considering but I forget what it was, does it go with Tessa? Any family names you might want to use, or do you guys prefer to use names that are unique to the child and not already in the family?
Some random ones that popped into my head: Tessa Jane Tessa Corinne Tessa Violet Tessa Paige Tessa Lynn Tessa Marie Tessa Kate Tessa Danielle

**Stuck in the box** Tessa Grace is very pretty and I want to add it to my list of suggestions! I feel like Grace and Dawn go well together (not that middles names have to match)

Thanks so much for your input. We ended up going with the spelling Brookelynn. I just can't get past the city of Brooklyn NY when it's spelled traditionally. And I think it looks more feminine, too.

love it! I think it can stand alone but I also like it as a nickname for Teresa/Theresa.
