I'm still here, too! (And I don't think I ever wrote a birth story. Whoops)
Ellie is 3 weeks old today!
I'm surprised by how fast time is flying and how inefficient I am. I'm usually great at multitasking and checking things off lists but I'm so happy sitting and snuggling with her while she naps that I'm not getting much done and for the first time ever, I don't really care. I was also surprised by how calm pushing and delivery were. It helped that the epidural worked really well managing my back labor/hip pain and Ellie's heat rate was steady through the whole 3 hours of pushing, but it was so different from the screaming/cursing/tension/exhaustion I had imagined and I'm real grateful for that!
Harrison is 2wk5d. I'm honestly surprised at how well he and I are doing with breastfeeding. With my oldest I gave up after a week because of the pain so I expected this one to be the same. I was also surprised at how quickly I started feeling better.
i was most surprised with DS1's reaction. I was expecting him to be somewhat jealous since he's had all the attention the last 3+ years but he's been amazing with his little brother! Hopefully it lasts a long time, haha.
I was was suprised about how mind numbingly hard labor was for me. I had intense back labor and it was more pain than I could have even ever imagined.
i also was suprised how sore I was the first week after birth. For some reason I never thought about how after you push a baby out, your body will hurt until you recover
but after all of that, I can't believe how in love I am with this little man
