As the OP to this thread, I am sorry that it has gotten so out of hand. I never meant to make anyone feel like they couldn't provide for their baby or to turn this into a mommy war. Honestly, I started it because when DH and I were shopping for nursery furniture, I was feeling buyers remorse over how much we had spent already and wanted to know that I wasn't alone in spending for baby. I am truly sorry to anyone that felt like this post was a big competition from the get go as it was never meant to be that way.
You're ok, thank you for coming back to respond to your own thread . Trust me, I got a wake up call spending money on all new clothes when I should have gone to the 2nd hand store near me. FTM hood is a learning time all around.

Interesting thread! I honestly can't say we've been very good at tracking our expenditures. Not sure that I want to either, haha! I'm guilty of not being great about looking for good used item bargains. We've gotten some nice hand me downs of items that would have been pretty costly. We've bought furniture and a few decor pieces but plan on waiting until after the shower to finish anything else. My mother is guilty of buying all the clothes we have thus far!!
Dang, @theshannondee! To each their own on spending, I'm not judging, but I think you've spent more than my bosses did and they make about $500k a year, lol!!
It definitely isn't cheap raising a child. No matter how you look at gathering the necessities! And I think every mother (to-be) on this board is doing an excellent job of preparing for it all. Above and beyond any tangible item, we're all here because we care, which is what these babies need most! So kudos to all of us...no matter what the cost spent, lol!
