I apologize in advance for asking a question I feel like I should know the answer to, but does anyone know how soon after conception a home pregnancy test will show as positive? Thanks in advance!

  • If I remember correctly, implantation takes place 7 -10 days after fertilization. You should be able to test 2-3 days before your missed period and have it be accurate. Most tests say to wait until after you've missed a period though.
  • @MrsN092714 thank you. I don't know my date of ovulation, so I'm just not sure how applicable those percentages are to me. I just know the last time I had sex, so I'm wondering how accurate it would be based off of that given that would be the most recent chance of getting pregnant. lol!
@hmhierholzer I appreciate the info. I was thinking the same thing. The only thing is I'm on the mini pill so my periods are unpredictable to say the least. :-/ No idea if I'm late right now, have missed one, or am totally fine. Lol
  • Take a test weekly until you know FALSE is likely accurate or until you see a POSITIVE.
  • @kdoak2015 I've been taking one every couple of days. Lol! I'm trying to convince myself to chill out a little bit.
  • If you are know when the sex was and are worried about being pregnant just think of it as close to your ovulation.  Sperm can live for up to 5 days so push your 'O' date 5days after the sex and that should pretty much cover ya!
