Bringing up the rear here in July with my EDD of July 30. 18+4 now. The other night when laying down I felt the strangest feeling like when your stomach drops on a roller-coaster ride. It happened consistently for 5 minutes or so. Today at work while sitting I've been feeling some twinges that I think just might be baby! So neat to have this whole experience become much more real just like that.
@stellaluna14 I had to "love" that, because I almost spit tea all over DD (who is sitting in front of me on the floor) because of laughing at your post (while taking a drink. You'd think I would know better)!
I started feeling slight movements about a week ago, im 20 weeks now. Yesterday I was checking in on him with my Doppler and he kicked the crap out of it! Can't wait to start feeling more definite movement

Bringing up the rear too with 7/27 EDD But it definitely makes it sooooo real when you start feeling it all. DH was able to feel some last night too, and it definitely feels like twinges! Very distracting during work haha

The same thing happened to me at the doctors! It took forever for them to find the heartbeat and it wasn't there for 5 seconds before he kicked it so hard ! Seems like we have ourselves some future soccer players
I'm due late in the month too - July 28th! The past week and a half I've been feeling definite kicks and feel like they are getting more frequent now. It's soooooo weird haha but so awesome and definitely makes things so much more real.
This might be corny, but I've now gone from feeling like "we're going to have a baby soon" to "The baby already exists and it's living in my stomach - we have a kid already!!" Obviously it's vastly different than when that baby is outside the womb from a day-to-day practical perspective... but just being so much more aware that that's a living human being in my uterus is mind blowing on a new level.
@kellz14 It's not corny at all, Mother's day was Sunday here in Ireland and it got very real for me when I got a few calls telling me "Happy Mother's Day". It sank in a little bit more because of people saying it to me. We're all mothers now and it's just a matter of time until we meet our little nuggets.
Holy .... I know the uterus is generally supposed to be 1.5 inches above the belly button at 23 weeks, but I just got a kick WAY higher than that. Maybe I have a shorter torso than I first thought?! I'm just so shocked right now.
I had been a little worried because I hadn't been noticing baby move as much the past few days. I got the reassurance I needed... That little bugger woke me up several times throughout the night kicking. At one point, I heard myself wake from a pretty solid sleep to say, "What the hell are you doing in there???"
I guess this is where it begins. This kid is going to ruin my sleep forever, isn't he?
Baby girl was having a dance party in my belly last night as I tried to fall asleep. At one point she was likely stretching and pressed her little hand on my belly leaving a bump so I poked it and in it went again lol so cute
Anyone find that when they put their hand on their stomach, LO stops moving? Almost as if they KNOW your trying to detect their movements? Or is my kid just an expert at messing with me already? Haha
Mine will kick/punch for me, but if DH puts his hand on my stomach, he/she freezes!

@am0987 my little man will wait til I put my hand where he is kicking, and then kick the outside edge/right outside of my hand lol Sometimes he just stops for a second. He always kicks DH every time he touches my stomach. But I seriously thought SIL might cry because this kid seriously will stop kicking and sometimes even move away as soon as she tries to feel him.
@DominiqueU I'm glad you said that, because mine has been kicking less the past few days. (I'm 20 weeks) I've been wondering if I should be concerned. I have my anatomy scan on Wednesday, so hopefully that will put my mind at ease. I'm glad to hear your baby got more active again.

Apparently the baby can sense when it's your hand because the heartbeat is the same. When someone else touches your belly they can either shy away or kick because they don't recognize the heartbeat. Not sure how much truth there is to that but I found it interesting!
Baby must be doing flips or bouncing around in there because I've been feeling her for a few hours off and on pretty strongly. I still haven't seen movement from the outside yet, so hopefully that comes soon!
Just 20 weeks now, but feeling baby move daily. Mostly at night on the couch watching TV. Waiting for when DH will be able to feel some movement. When did you feel movement on the outside? I don't remember last time.
@DominiqueU wow -- the baby took up kickboxing during the night! Exactly what happened to you! I've been up half the night and won't be making it to the gym today, but I'm so glad to have that reassurance. The kicks are higher now, too. Just below my belly button.
@whataboutscience I started feeling movement at 17 wks and started feeling it from the outside at 19 weeks. But I read that women commonly start feeling it from the outside from 20-24 wks.

Awesome! I'm sure we'll be really annoyed by the midnight kicking at some point, but for now, I'm just grateful.
I hadn't been trying to feel from the outside, but randomly put my hand on my stomach one day and felt kicks! Happened at 22 weeks!! Best feeling in the world
Nobody told me how weird it would feel to feel the baby move! I'm glad I'm working from home today because I just felt the baby moving around like crazy, stronger than I've ever felt and it made me laugh really loud a few times and start tearing up from emotion. I would have looked like a crazy person in the office. Also, I put my hand on my belly and felt the movement from the outside for the first time! Also another reason why I'm tearing up.
I'm 24 weeks now and my little boy never stops moving. I can put my hand on my stomach and he will kick me but he stops for everyone else. I can also lay down and watch him kick and move. I knew he had long legs but this boy must have extra long legs.
Not only is this little lady strong, but my LORD is she energetic! They say that babies have more active and less active times, but this one NEVER QUITS! Constant flipping and flopping, haha.
Anyone else have a lunatic locked up inside their belly?
Ladies do you think when baby is most active will determine their sleep cycle? I feel baby most in the evening and night time, has me thinking he's not going to sleep much at night when he's born!
@ButterMyBiscuit Yeah I had someone tell me that pregnant women don't sleep through the night because their body clock is adjusting for when the baby comes and is waking at all hours! He's definitely going to be a night owl with all this kicking right now!
I can see my baby moving through my clothes all the time now. At least once a day I'm leaned back in my office chair laughing in amazement as my belly rolls around and little kicks poke out. At the beginning of this pregnancy my co-workers must have thought I was crazy for crying in my cube on an almost daily basis. Now they probably think I'm even crazier for laughing for no apparent reason daily... I LOVE the kicking! Women keep asking me "isn't it weird?" and all I can say is "No- it feels really COOL! I'm going to be so sad when this is over."

Glad I am not the only crazy person laughing and crying at work when I feel the baby move around!
@noelietrex oh my gosh that's amazing! You've got a strong little bugger in there I haven't been able to see movement from the outside, but I can't wait till I can. I love the movement too...so amazing we get to experience this!
@maddmama I'm 25 weeks tomorrow with baby measuring spot on. EDD July 1 should make me one of the farthest along on this BMB so I'm sure you'll be having the same soon! It went from tiny "was that movement?" feelings to big "whaaaat was that!?" kicks pretty quickly.
My due date is July 1st Aswell, although I'm measuring at almost 26 weeks now so ahead of my due date! I can see baby moving from the outside too! It's getting stronger and stronger Forsure!
@noelietrex I completely agree...it went from little flutters like tickles or butterfly kisses to full on pokes and jabs. I am able to see kicks from the outside too at 23+2. Pre-pregnancy I thought I would be so freaked out by it but I absolutely love it. I will definitely miss this part when baby gets bigger and the kicks hurt!
I can see and feel her move everyday now! She wakes me up at night and I can't help but giggle. She loves to move and kick when DH talks to her. Anyone else noticing kicks/movement getting a lot higher? They are mostly below the belly button but the past few days there have been some massive kicks above to the right. Freaked me out!
@LF93 From what I understand the baby is soothed/rocked to sleep by your daytime movements, and then when you lay down they're up and ready to party. Which is why it takes a week or two for the baby's circadian rhythm to set when they're born.
@noelietrex I've been able to watch him from the outside this week! It's nuts! I tried to make a video to send to my husband but the baby apparently got camera shy.
I think baby is actually moving from breech position. She used to hang out super low, but now I feel her more up by my belly button. I don't know why the hell they tell you the position of your baby at early (20 ish weeks) ultrasounds, since baby has so much time to move around. I was pretty freaked out that she would be breech forever though.
For the last two weeks, I've been feeling baby not consistently but definitely with increasing strength. But for the past two days, nothing (unless I'm missing it). Of course, I'm super anxious because a) I am a FTM and have no idea what's "normal" and b) my A/S isn't until Tuesday afternoon. Anyone been through this?
@elldel It was like that for me when I first started feeling movement, I'd have two days where I would feel him a bunch and then nothing for the next two and I'd have a heart attack. The last two weeks (I'm 24w3d) I feel him every day but there are still somedays he's super active and some he's more chill
