My FFFC: I nap every day. I don't think I could survive if I didn't.
Teach me your ways! I'm struggling to sleep at night at DD is so active during the day that I'd love to be able to get her to nap with me.
Murph is a nap champ! He goes down for 2-3 hours about 3 hours after he wakes up. It is glorious. I could use that time to clean or do other things but I don't, I nap. Some days he won't nap early so we go to the back yard and run around and then he is ready for nap time. I think he is a good sleeper because I love sleep haha, that seems logical right??
    I hate you a little bit. :)
DD is a night owl AND early riser like her dad. I'm Team All The Sleep. Makes for a fun week. I'm thinking tomorrow DH can get up with her and I can snooze a little longer and catch up on my sleep I've missed this week.
  • @TattoosandLace yeah, I've been hoping like crazy that this baby has my sleep habits instead of DHs & DDs. They are both very much of the mentality that "sleep is for babies!" My 2 yr old that hasn't taken naps in months no matter what I do, thinks that's hilarious.
  • @Shelby00519 I hear you!! Always a fun time explaining to your parents how you'll be parenting. They think obviously their way was the right way, since we all turned out so great, right?!? *Rolls Eyes* My mom has shared her fair share of opinions on purchased items, time off work, etc. Then she'll go out and buy $150 worth of baby clothes when we're not even finding out the gender.

I'll piggy back on your complaint - my FFFC is I've had a life-long battle with used items. I've never purchased anything off Craigslist/Ebay that hasn't been new with tags. I'm not into borrowing clothes. The idea of going to Goodwill terrifies me! I know I could and should, as it would be an obvious money saver. I certainly don't judge anyone that shops this way. I wish I had it in me!  I did give myself a pat on the back because I haven't turned down any hand me down baby items, but the houses they've come from are super nice, clean people that we trust. Hopefully having the baby, and the handful of used items will help transition me to a different thought process because I don't want kid growing up being a used item snob like I am!
  • I bought the make up remover towlettes and some alcohol free toner so when I don't feel like washing my face at night I atleast get my foundation off... its been helpful

I'm praying the same thing. For both you and me now!
  • @TiffRox81 I was that way before DD was born. In all honesty, I am still that way when it comes to clothing for me, but have changed my views on it for DD. I spent the first two years of DD's live always buying new (and I was buying brands like Gymboree and crap), but after awhile, I realized how little use it was actually getting. I finally bit the bullet, and decided to hunt around in consignment shops. There are a lot of sketchy ones in my area, but I did find one good on, that is super picky about the clothing that they accept into their store. For the past 18+ months, I have been doing a mix of new items from the store, items from the consignment store, and then a few splurge items (that I get in gender neutral colors so they can be used by both sexes). I have been finding some killer deals at this consignment shop....brands like Baby Gap, Gap Kids, Gymboree, Janie and Jack, Nordstrom brand, etc....all for around $2.50 to $6....a lot of them still have the tags on them, or look like they have never been worn. I usually buy her Keen sandals every summer and they cost me over $50 after shipping. I found a BRAND new pair, not a scuff, mark, fraying on the straps, not a single mark on the bottoms.....for $8 (for this summer). They also do a stamp card, for every $10 you spend, you get a stamp (and then when the card is full, you get 20% off your entire next purchase). My husband rolls his eyes when he sees me come in with a bag from that store, but he knows how much I am saving, that he wasn't phased when I bought DD a pair of Hunter boots for Christmas....since he knows how much I save the rest of the year on her clothing.

  • @PhoebeJune1984 You give me hope!! Hahaha! We have a cute place in my neighborhood that I've noticed FB neighbors have been raving about. Like you mentioned - they have name brands, Gap clothes for $2-4, etc. Can't beat that. And it is hard to justify the cost of all that cuteness when they wear it so little!! I'm curious to check it out myself. I bought Baby Gap outfits for friends' kids from the outlet and I still ended up spending about $30 on each 3 piece outfit. They're 18 months so I'm hoping they get a little more wear out of them than infant clothes.

We went to Arbys the other night before going to see Deadpool. I couldn't finish my meal before the movie started....so I snuck it in in my purse. Curly fries are now a must for movie nights.

Edited because I can't spell and my phone hates me
  • @Nerdchild WHAT THE FUCK. I am so sorry! How are you and your husband feeling? I can only imagine how hurt/pissed/upset I would be in that situation.

  • @Nerdchild I'm sorry. From the sounds of it,you won't have to wait to long.....
That's really really shitty and yes, absolutely cut that twat out of your babies life.
  • @Nerdchild what county does she live in?!?! Geez! I did DUIs for a while and some of the counties in the bay area would not let that sh*t fly with just a wet and reckless. I'm sorry you and your husband have to go through this. I feel really bad for your husband because I can imagine she's been disappointing him like this for some time. Hang in there. What I've learned is that most people get their DUI and they get their ish together those who don't really do end up in jail. I just hope she doesn't hurt anyone else.

  • @Kellyj103 Two of them are from Nevada, one was in either Alabama or Georgia. If they had gotten pulled over this time it would have been my brother-in-laws third in less than 5 years.
  • @Nerdchild  crazy!!! Well if either one of them get in trouble in CA, they're gonna be screwed. I don't blame you for not wanting to be around that mess.

I'm eating ice cream in my car on my lunch hour. Also, I've built up a pretty impressive collection of fast food trash in my passenger seat floorboard and have zero intention of cleaning it out anytime soon.

ETA: what's going on with my screen name? Totally weird.
  • @PugsandKisses I completely understand that. But the last time our parents have helped us with anything was our wedding almost 4 years ago. So she really has no point in bitching to us on how we spend our money

My 4 year old is an amazing sleeper. Last night, she went down at 8:45, and this morning...I couldn't wake her up at 7:45 to bring her with me. It was like trying to wake a bear out of hibernation. So MH told me just to leave her, and he would bring her out to me later in the day. She ended up sleeping until 9:30am. If it wasn't for the fact that she cannot take a nap today (space where she naps is currently in use), she would take a 2-3 hour nap. I have friends with kids that go down at 9pm, wake up at 5am, and don't nap.....they think that my kid is a freak of nature and that it isn't healthy that she sleeps so much. At age 4, kids should be getting around 11.5 to 14.5 hours of sleep (that is including naps), and my DD gets around 14.75 (if she takes a 3 hour nap). Their kids are getting 8 hours of sleep total...so I think their kids aren't healthy. ;)

  • Is there a big difference between the Tula and the Ergo?
I don't know if this has been mentioned but Tulas are more comfortable if you have a shorter torso. I'm tall so my ergo is very comfy.
  • Which one is more plus size friendly @Y0urm0m  @Taymiller
  • Which one is more plus size friendly @Y0urm0m  @Taymiller
