How was your labor (speed/ease) for #3 versus the first two?

My first two were relatively fast, but the NP at my OB's office recently made the comment that often 3d labors are slower than the second. I was curious to hear other experiences.

I wonder what their logic behind that is?? Seems odd. I'm sure it happens though, since labors can all be different.

My mom had four kids, all progressively shorter.

My labors for #2 and #3 were both about 12 hours.....I was induced with #1 so a bit of a different scenario there. Pushing time was about the same as well. With 2 and 3 I pushed like 3 times. With #1, I pushed for 2 hours or so.

My labors have all been really long, but my first VBAC took 3+ hrs of pushing with a vacuum and my second came out in 2 pushes.

My third was by far my fastest, I wasn't in active labor until I got to the hospital and I had him 30 minutes later. My 4th was longer, but it's because I was induced, and he was a preemie, so it took my body a little longer to get the message to go into active labor, and he took a bit to actually descend.

Lurking from May, but my labors have all gotten shorter. #1 was about 16 hrs of active labor, #2 was 3.5 from start to finish and #3 was 2.5 start to finish. I'm curious to see what #4 does.

My 3rd was my fastest, although all my labors are short. I'm scared for what #4 has in store due to how quick they go.

My first two were both 5 1/2 hours. My 3rd was 42 minutes. My 4th could have been an hour, but that's a long story. From that point on, my labors have only gotten longer, 12+ hours.
