Pregnancy induced insomnia... I guess I don't really need sleep to function? It's a rare day when I can stay asleep when FH leaves for work at 3:30 but... My bladder had other plans and here we are, almost 6 am... Still up.
Wtf body? You thought it was cool to demand 5-8 oZ glasses of water after 830pm last night. Then of course pee every 10 seconds last night. Then to wake up slightly swollen. Why!?!

Ditto. Though my problem is less about my bladder and more about just waking up every night and staying awake for 2+ hours before being able to fall back asleep. Or having the craziest dreams which leave me exhausted in the morning.
I agree with the WTF to sleep. I an tossing and turning all night, while I am staying in bed I dont feel like I have gotten a restful night of sleep in weeks.
@LadyFleck I get the crazy dreams too, and half the time they scare the hell out of me. It's worse when I have the chance to sleep in but my body has other plans for me. I would just like to snooze until I have to get ready for work. Is that too much to ask?
Last two mornings I threw up my unisom. Today I actually kept it down, but I was exhausted driving to work, and I just want a nap now. I don't know if the nausea or the sleepiness is worse. On the plus side, my students have early dismissal today.
WTF to sleep, as usual. I fell asleep on the couch and then randomly woke up around 1am. Couldn't go back to sleep so I did some laundry and unloaded the dishwasher. Why? Ughhh. Then DD woke up at 5am and today was my turn to get up with her. We just lounged and watched tv but I'm totally exhausted now at work.

I hate when they are work dreams and it feels like I never left the office. I demand to be paid for the hours I spend dwelling on work during what should be my sleepy time, conscious or not!

Oh totally! I've worked in restaurants since I was 14(so half of my life) and now I'm in jeweler my BUT I swear I still have server nightmares like once a week. I should start billing the places in these dreams because I have lost way too much sleep this pregnancy from them.
WTF to work. I'm so busy at work I can't even think about anything baby-related or make any baby-related plans. I feel like I'm going to run out of time and then my maternity leave will be stressful and before you know it, I'll be back at the office!

WTF, I want nothing more than to sleep (eating constantly comes in as a close second). Not that I want the insomnia some of you ladies are experiencing. I'm sorry. But I'm on the total opposite of the spectrum. If I could take a week off work/parenting and just sleep, with a few breaks to snack, I'd be the happiest.
Hormones are on fire. I have zero tolerance for BS today.
Yesss I've been like this lately. I usually put up with this kind-of-friend / kind-of-acquaintance of mine, but lately the stupid stuff she says drives me straight up a wall. I have no power to be fake nice anymore. She keeps talking about herself like she's some sort of amazing intelligent being when she finishes the simplest of tasks. I don't know if she needs the attention that bad or is trying to prove something to me, but woman is in her mid-late twenties and I don't have time to baby her. Also I just choked on my heart-burn acid bagel when it came back up my throat. UGH.
WTF to n00bs who are kindly redirected to the correct thread and then proceed to get sassy and pretend as if their exit is something to be mourned. Girl, bye!
Was waiting for my OB appointment this morning, and a man walks in carrying an 18-month-old girl. She had no coat on, and she was BAREFOOT! It's frigid out people, wth? Makes me very nervous for both the little girl and the baby his wife is pregnant with!

I recently went through a training course where the presenter told us that millennials require praise/recognition an average of 7 times per day, which is a stark contrast to prior generations in the workforce. SEVEN TIMES A DAY??? What?!? Totally a result of "everybody gets a trophy" mentality. You should not get a pat on the back for breathing.
I'm embarrassed to admit that I technically fall within the age range for millennials but CANNOT identify with this or many other criteria for that generation. I'd say I require maybe one formal gesture of recognition from my boss a month. My performance review is tomorrow, so I'd say he'll probably satisfy my need for praise for the next few months in that meeting alone. Then it's MATERNITY LEAVE TIME!!!

This mentality bothers me to no end. Luckily the age demographic at my new job is a little older, so I don't have to deal with it on a regular basis. I see it in my niece, though. She's 19 years old and just bought a new car - this is her FIFTH vehicle that she has owned in 3 years. Granted, the car she just retired needed a new engine and transmission, but she now has a $200+ monthly car payment because she HAD to have a brand new car. That's impressive she purchased the car herself, right? Guess how she has the money to manage that and rent for a 1-bedroom apt.? She signed up for welfare. Nothing pisses me off more than when people abuse the system, and I was floored by her attitude that she deserves to have whatever she wants and live beyond her means, so it's OK that she is treating a federal assistance program as a way to teach college students how to save money (well, not really save money - save it on things she thinks she should have).
@LadyFleck ew that's sad ... That definitely makes me think of this woman. It's ridiculous! I suppose I want recognition when I turn in an assignment? But I really just want feedback if anything. Praise/recognition is nice, but I don't need it to make me feel worthy. Iy yi yi.
WTF morning sickness....no, you're not allowed to come back at 21 weeks. go away. thanks.
@soberkfell I don't know where you live, so maybe a coat is necessary, but the barefoot thing I totally get. My daughter will just take off shoes/socks as soon as we put them on. Some kids just refuse them!
Side note and totally not a WTF but... I adore you ladies and all of the snark. It's good for the soft skinned to get used to so thank you for being awesome!
@xc1148It was about 30 degrees outside this morning and very blustery. I can maybe understand the no shoes/socks if that's a constant battle, but seriously put a freakin' coat on the kid!
I dropped my iphone in the parking garage at work yesterday. My screen is cracked to smithereens. DH is out of town so I really don't have the time to get this fixed since I need to do daycare drop off and pick-up the rest of the week and I already have a 45 minute commute.
WTF to the creepy old hoarder lady across the hall from us who likes to watch people leave the parking lot and wave to them. Yesterday I was cleaning the snow off my car and she came out of her apartment and stood in 4 inches of snow to watch. I have come THISCLOSE to losing it with her, because seriously who does that??? So glad we are moving soon.
@maddmama I feel ya on that, I have a friend in her 30s who is like that and I've been avoiding her like nobody's business. I'm normally pretty compassionate and understanding but I'm over babying grown ass adults.
WTF husband. I love you but your "occasional cigar" you smoke with your cool neighbor bro smells like shit and lingers on your skin. Your options are showering before bed or sleeping on the couch. Kthanks.
I'm a millennial and have to give an eye-roll to generational disparities and criticism. Every generation criticizes the next. If I get extra praise at work, it's because I'm twice as productive, twice as educated, twice as adaptable, and cost half the price of my older counterparts... But yeah, sure, I do take a lot of selfies.
My WTF is politics being discussed in the office. I thought we all agreed this is in bad taste because we're most definitely in mixed company... Yes, I have opinions. No, I'm not going to share them. Yes, I will be voting. No, I don't have an affiliation. Yes, I do keep up with all the debates, polls, and results. No, this is not the time or place.
I work in an industry where the majority of my employees are in their early 20's and honestly "kids today" are awesome. I have had some that get irrationally upset with feedback or the word no but I have also seen that with people my age or older.
I don't like the age group held to be "millennial." My sister and I both qualify and I think we represent two entirely different factions. My friends and I are the hardworking but couldn't get jobs right out of college because the economy tanked right then group. We've worked 80 hrs/week at fast food and other crap jobs just trying to find a way to make ends meet and now that we have had degrees for 5-8 years and still don't have any experience "in our field" due to poor graduation timing we're having an even rougher time but are still doing our best to do any job out there.
My sister and her friends, plus some of my cousins, fall into the group that is entitled, quits full time jobs with benefits because "I don't like my boss" and then complains that "they have no money." Plus a bunch of other douchecanoe comments. My sister thinks SHE alone understands the horror of working retail, when she's ha da position in retail for less than 4 months total between three different companies.
So yes, I do agree, there are idiot "millennials" out there who want to work the system and think they just deserve anything, but there are still plenty of people in the group who have been shafted in some way and are still busting their asses - we're happy anytime we can get a job and do our best to finally get into a secure financial place.
Sorry, rant over, but poor DH graduated in 2009 with two degrees and despite job hunting relentlessly since has only had grunt work positions that HS kids are qualified for. He's also got a stutter and while he IS very intelligent, a lot of people think he sounds cognitively impaired at times. Not that his stutter has been a major problem, even with his schooling and work ethic he's only had maybe 5 interviews/phone interviews in almost 7 years.

WTF to DH's brother who wants to have a destination wedding on July 4th weekend when I am due July 28th. We told them we can't travel less than a month before I'm due. We generally have a good relationship with him and his fiance, but they are still set on that date anyway. What sucks the most is how hurt and betrayed my husband feels that he can't be at his brothers wedding. Sorry be to Debbie Downer but ... WTF

Would he consider going solo? Even if it's just for the day of the wedding (flying in night before and flying out morning after).
I have no adult WTF just a boring WTF to these stink bugs that are about as kill proof as possible and keep showing up in my living room. It's 40 degrees out, they need to GTFO. Until then I will continue to suck them up with the vacuum cleaner and leave them in there. YUCK.
@Nerdchild I'll support him in whatever he decides... last I heard he wanted to put me first and not leave me/go solo. But yeah, I'm OK with whatever he wants. I get that his brother wants to do the same and put his fiance/soon-to-be-wife first.... but ... there's so many other weekends in a year!
@kellz14 I understand him not wanting to leave you so close to your due date. Maybe getting together with them to celebrate before or after would be a good compromise?
