Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread (29/02)

  • @ahohenadel I've been having the same feelings! I don't remember being this anxious with my first pregnancy but I can't keep worrying I'm going to lose this baby.. ugh!!

  • I've been feeling really "gaggy" lately.  Everything feels like it is making me gag.

Yesterday was so bad for me at work, I was so nauseated, felt awful.  Today is different.  I feel like it's because I ate breakfast!  (I usually don't).  So I've been eating little meals every few hours, and not allowing myself to get hungry (and nauseated).  So far it's working!

  • 9 weeks today! Had a bit of a scare as I was spotting but went to the dr today and all looks great! She did an exam and said she saw a bit of blood and I might bleed from the exam a little but don't worry.
Baby reassured me by sending my lunch right back up! Nausea and vommiting are my main symptoms. I bought the seabands so I'm hoping they kick in soon!

Let's talk about CM. I've seen a few people post about feeling a little extra moist (shudder) but I'm wondering if anyone has noticed a change in color/texture of CM. Lately, I've noticed it's gone from clear/watery to thicker and yellowish. No odor or discomfort so I don't suspect infection. I'm wondering if hydration effects CM. I've been having a harder time pushing the water the past few days and I wonder if maybe that's the reason for the change? Has anyone else noticed a differences in this area?

  • @MRSCORKER same. I guess I am still observing CM from my time TTC! It has definitely increased lately. I know I need to be drinking more water but it is gross to me right now.

Yeah, I'm hyper sensitive to CM changes still. I'm not going searching for it like I was before but I'm observing changes (mostly because I'm stalking my vag for spotting). I just noticed that it's been clear/watery since my BFP and just recently has been thicker and yellowish. I'm wondering if it's because I need more water or if it's just par for the course during pregnancy.

  • Good questions @MRSCORKER .  I've been having the same kind of CM, thicker and yellowish... but I've been drinking so much water (I think).  Now I'm wondering if I should be drinking more.

Maybe it has nothing to do with hydration and is just normal pregnancy stuff!

  • @MRSCORKER I have the same. Assuming it's normal, they say white and thick/creamy CM is normal throughout pregnancy. Mine has been that since probably week 6, and now seems a slight yellow this week. But the consistency hasn't changed for me based on my water intake.

  • @MRSCORKER Same here.  I've been having varying degrees of what I would describe as "creamy" CM since my BFP.  Sometimes it's white, sometimes it's more of a beigey color.  Glad to know that others are having the same and that its normal.

  • @MRSCORKER Mine's been yellow-ish and boogery and I drink about 100oz of water a day. I figure it's due to my mucus plug forming.

  • So, O was searching for my cat's toy under the bed. I had to lay on my stomach to do so. I'm 9w3d and it seriously felt... different. Like I was laying on a firm throw pillow. Definitely not the same as when I did the same thing over, and over, and over for the last few weeks. Not gonna lie! I'm pretty pumped about my baby bump! Pretty soon, the cat is gonna have to fend for herself!
  • I think I'm dying. A few days ago I had zero symptoms except sore boobs and intense hunger. Now the all day nausea has started, I have food aversions to everything, extreme irritability is an understatement, I'm beyond exhausted and feel like I'm wearing a lead body suit, I can't brush my teeth without nearly puking, and my boobs hurt so bad they woke me from sleep 4 times last night! I thought I got lucky but man, I was wrong!

  • I'm on the same page as most of you ladies. 7w5d today and my symptoms haven't really changed except the constipation kicked in yesterday. At least I think it's constipation. I've never been constipated so I am a total Virgin here. Actively increasing water intake today and hoping that helps. Also, I had my first incident with irritation /nausea yesterday. The train was super full and the woman jammed in next to me STANK. Nasty, nasty cigarette smell and I was so disgusted I actually said OH MY GOD and covered my face with my scarf (I am usually so non-confrontational). I then spent the next 20 min trying to swallow back bile and planning my aim so that if I threw up it would land on her. Here's to hoping today is much more boring ;)

  • Is it too early for a pregnancy pillow? I feel like they're designed to support a growing bump but last night I woke up with horrible lower back/hip pain. I thought it was cramping at first and was starting to worry until I shoved a pillow between my knees and it went away within minutes. Is anyone else dealing with this so early on?

I am 6w+4d today. I felt great until Sunday, then it all hit me like a truck and has been getting worse every day. DH has nothing supportive to say, either, except when I get snippy he says "I don't deserve to be treated like that." I told him it is not my job to be rational right now, that's his job. My job is to tolerate feeling like absolute crap without killing anyone in the process. He shut up pretty quickly after that!  :D

  • @LizaKate1213 haha perfect! We were talking about me being "hormonal" and I told DH it's not fair to say that, who wouldn't be cranky when they feel like crap 24/7?!

  • MRSCORKER I got my Snoogle at 5 weeks and it's been amazing! Between being able to prop my back up a little (vs always sleeping on my side) and keeping it between my knees, it's really helped the little twinges of back pain I've been getting. I say go for it!

  • Hi, ladies! I'm still nervous about everything, but I think that's normal after infertility. I notice every symptom - especially when it stops, which freaks me out. 7w5d today. Boobs are still sore, but only when I poke them or roll onto my stomach in the middle of the night - that wakes me up. I've been having waves of nausea and food aversions. I've been snacking in the evenings and avoiding dinner. I haven't actually thrown up, but feel most nauseous in the evenings, when I get hungry and after I eat. Hope this is all normal. I had some slight cramping on and off in previous weeks (not AF-type cramping) but not much this week. We go for our OB scan tomorrow and I'm, of course, nervous.

I don't know if it's too early, but I had several nights when I slept like that in the last 1-2 weeks.

  • In the last 6 months or so, I had so many problems sleeping - restlessness, then pain in my whole back, my neck.. I just recently found out that the mattress is dented where I sleep. I thought that there was some problem with it, but didn't realize that it actually shrunk in the middle. Then after I found out I was pregnant, I read about the pillow-between-the-knees thing, and it helps somewhat. I had hip/lower back pain about 1-2 weeks ago for 3-4 days and it also helped then. So I had multiple-level problems. How far along are you?
  • Those of you who are 8w or 9w and have experienced bad morning sickness/nausea... did you experience it going away and then coming back? I was SO sick last week (6w) but thankfully this week has been much better (7w). I'm holding onto hope that things will stay this way but I'm worried it will come back terribly again in week 8 or 9. What has your experience been for those of you who have been sick?

  • @MRSCORKER I have a bad left hip, bone problem that tends to aggravate my SI joint, and basically always sleep with a pillow between my knees or under my knees if I am on my back. It helps significantly. My hip/back has been bothering me all day lately so I will probably ask my doctor about it next week. I'll let you know if she gives me any good insight!

Was this for me? If so, I'm 6+2. Hip pain was my first symptom almost as soon as my BFP. I hadn't really felt it since those first few days until last night. It was like an ache in my lower back that radiated down into my hips. Putting a pillow between my knees helped tremendously but then I was missing having my second pillow to hold. I think I might go for a pregnancy pillow. Just adding a regular pillow would probably be fine for now but I'm sure as I start to progress and show, I'll be happy to have the pregnancy pillow.

  • @cd92007 Unfortunately, mine has come and gone and come back again. Week 6-7 I was queasy a lot, but felt better once I ate. Week 7-8 I was feeling significantly better, but the middle of week 8 (i'm 9 weeks today) hit like a ton of bricks. Since then I've been super nauseous all the time, dry heaving, it's awful. I feel nauseous when I'm hungry and even worse after I eat so I can't win. Hoping that yours stays away!

  • At 6w3d - the aversions/cravings have started. I drink a protein shake for breakfast every single morning. This morning -  nope! Wanted nothing to do with it. I made it & took it to work...and promptly left it in the fridge & had an egg mcmuffin instead.

And I want pasta. All the pasta. And bread. And anything covered in cheese. This is not good!

For me, week 7 was like the calm before the storm. Week 8 began the hoorible all day nausea, which was way worse than 5-6. I also started puking every morning. Couldn't eat much.... enjoy it while it lasts!

I'm about to get one. Hip pain was always a problem for me, even pre-pregnancy. Of course, now it's just getting worse and worse. My fitbit tracks my sleep, and it's not very happy with me! I'm actually going to look for one today because it's gotten progressively worse since week 5, and at week 9, I can't take it anymore.
  • @br0co1ii ugh that is what I'm afraid of... although I can't imagine it worse than week 6.. I couldn't even go to work! Hope you're feeling better?

  • @cd92007. It's gotten better. I've been taking benadryl at night since Friday, and Saturday was the last day I puked. I still get nausea, but at least I can eat now.  My doctor warned me that weeks 8-10 are generally the worst, so I will likely take the benadryl for anot her week. (I'll be 10 weeks Saturday.)

I haven't worked out except for a hike last weekend. My work is sloppy (brain fog!)  and I am so so nauseated. I'm fine in the morning and after I eat, but in between I'm sick as a dog. :(

@kaessi, I saw an article last night from Conde Nast traveler which talked about the best eats in Rome. They had a picture of cacio e Pepe. Something I've never eaten before. And now,i.must.have.it.

LOL @Kaessi .  These cravings are so bizarre.  Last week I was craving Filipino food (cooked by my mama), and she's soooo far away, that I can't just call her up and ask her to bring me some.

I guess I'll have to make it myself.

P.S. you should definitely google Cacio e Pepe.  It looks so easy to make!
P.P.S.  Thai Food sounds amazing right now.
