Re: Weekly Symptoms Thread (29/02)

  • I am feeling ok. Still have waves of nausea at times but no vomiting so far.

I have been really tired and have been getting headaches a lot. No fun.

Questions/advice?  Hmmmm. I snack often which helps with nausea. Trying to keep more healthy food in the house so I can snack better. It's harder to do at work though.

  • 6 weeks today and the symptoms are starting to catch up to me.

Feeling ok, just a queasiness that comes and goes. Boobs are getting progressively more tender and I have the most horrendous gas bubble stuck on my right side. Anyone else feel gas on the right? I usually feel it on the left. Any suggestions for getting it to pass?

I'm feeling okay. The waves nausea and fatigue are just starting to kick in. I'll be six weeks tomorrow, so they're right on time! I still have a lots of gas and my boobs are still really sore. DH hugged me tight tonight and I nearly teared up it hurt so bad. I'm also finally getting that whole "swamp crotch" thing. Uggghhhh. So. Gross.

No cravings or food aversions yet. Also, no "super nose."

No questions. And I'm not really far enough along to be giving advice.

I hope everyone has a lovely week!

  • How are you feeling?
I have been super queasy since last Thursday.  I never had it this bad with my son; I'd eat some cheese crackers and be just fine.  I've almost thrown up twice, but was saved by peppermints - my new best friends.  Fresh breath and relief!  Constipation has been an issue, but I've been eating a lot of fiber and feeling better.  I just have to keep up on my fresh fruit, veggies, and whole grains/flax seed.

What's bothering you most this week?
I've never been so weepy in my life.  Everything, sad or happy, tears me up.  I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and I'm afraid I'll cry like a baby. :/

Questions/Advice: Check your smoke detectors every week and change the battery every six months - unless you get a lithium battery, in which case it'll last ten years.  Safety first!

  • 8 weeks.
Symptoms are so typical: extremely tired, nauseous on and off, cry at everything.
It has become very hard to work as a night shift nurse. I am ten times more sleepy than I normally am, eating at 2am makes me feel sick but not eating feels worse, and I cry before every shift because I don't want to leave my husband.
Oh life. 2nd semester, please get here.
  • Oh you poor thing! Your symptoms describe me so completely!! And I only have to work days. I hear of these women who are too sick to work and they stay home. If only that was an option!
  • I'm feeling okay for now.

Morning queasiness which goes away when I eat breakfast (why must my son poop every morning before I eat? Why?). I have severe exhaustion at the moment. Took a TWO HOUR nap with DS yesterday which was the best thing ever. He usually doesn't sleep that long but since we started napping together on weekends, he's sleeping longer. Yes!

I have a clear yield strength with my patience. I'll be fine, fine, fine, SNAP! You push me that one teeny bit too far and it's over. I will be a raging bitch and DGAF. I forgot how much last pregnancy I did not give a fuck about anyone else's feelings or drama. It's not how I want to live all the time, but man it's liberating.

No advice or questions. I just hope everyone who's struggling gets relief somehow soon.
  • I feel good. random hungry and exhausted all the time.

whats bothering me most is I have my first u/s wednesday and I can't even be excited bc I've had 2 losses and I'm nervous as all hell.

question: I have a raging sinus infection. what can I do?
  • 5 weeks more or less and constipation is my constant companion. I'm pretty iron-stomached (comes from having migraines with a heavy nausea component) and I've long ago learned how to manage nausea without letting it take over, so I'm not sure if I'm really experiencing morning sickness or heading it off at the pass very day. Today was the first day exhaustion started in the morning, rather than the afternoon. I really just want to go back to my bed. Also, my heart feels like it's pounding all the time, which I guess it is.... It's a sensation I associate with anxiety and so now I feel on edge.
  • 7 weeks and for the most part feeling pretty good. Had some nausea last week but it was manageable. Definitely still exhausted, although maybe it's easing up a little? Honestly, insomnia is pretty bad and I think that's causing the exhaustion more than anything. Also, I am having food aversions like nothing else. Literally, nothing at all sounds good to eat. Not one thing. So I don't eat a ton, and then wake up between 3-4am starving. I started keeping graham crackers in my nightstand.
  • Good morning everyone! In week 5 and nothing too out of the ordinary. Super nose, boobs, super tired, and up until the morning ravenous.

Woke up today and hello nausea, I feel you simmering there. Not pukey, just a low level discomfort. I'm going to try frequent snacks today and hopefully it will just pass. I'm not ready for all that to start.

@mrszoess  I'm in the same boat- early ultrasound on Wednesday and I'm excited but so so nervous.

  • How are you feeling? 7w1d today...feeling okay. Tired. I seem to get indigestion no matter what I eat and some food aversions but nothing too crazy.

What's bothering you most this week? The indigestion. I think I'm just over eating? I get extremely hungry, eat, and then feel like I ate wayyyy too much and then I'm uncomfortable for the next few hours until I get hungry again.

Questions/Advice: I know I need to exercise more and probably just eat better in general which I'm sure would solve a lot of my problems...and sleeping when my husband tells me to instead of trying to fight my urge to pass out at 5 pm (because insomnia at 2 am)

  • Hi everyone :) I'm feeling very nauseous since Friday, but no actual vomiting yet, touch wood! As much as I hate the feeling, I am a bit reassured by it. My boobs are still sore (and I'm sure bigger already, yay!;) ) and still having some bloating but better than a few weeks ago.

What's bothering me most is still the uncertainty of being so early in pregnancy. I've had some spotting and cramping earlier on, and my last ultrasound put me 3 weeks behind where I thought I was based on my lmp, so another ultrasound tomorrow to see if there's anything growing there.. Trying not to worry but can't help it. Fingers crossed we see a baby and heartbeat tomorrow! Also pregnancy rage.. I'm usually very even keel but I just can't handle my irritating co-worker atm.

Hmm I don't really have any questions yet, maybe was anyone else that far off on their dates when they got an ultrasound? And no advice from me because I'm new to this pregnancy business:)
  • Oo @celette482 I was in the same boat with constipation and my mum recommended a big bowl of All Bran in the morning and lots of water throughout the day. I usually don't eat cereal but this has made a huge difference!
  • @clb1984 My last pregnancy I ovulated way later than the 'average' so according to my LMP my baby was over two weeks behind, but right on schedule based on ovulation. Were you charting at all? That could help you figure out what timing to expect. FX for you.
  • 8 weeks, 4 days today.
Still feeling pretty good. I get so so tired at 1:00 every day, but have to push through because I'm still working at that time. I have to eat all the time, but nothing sounds good at that moment. Starting in with some lower back pain, but going to the Chiro weekly to try to ward that off.

I guess the biggest problem is that I'm still worried that everything is okay in there. I have an intake appointment on Wednesday, and then we will get to schedule the u/s, so I'm excited for that.
  • @MRSCORKER gas pains suck! Putting a pillow at my stomach and then leaning over it to put a little pressure down there to ease its way out always helps me.

    i'm 8w5d!

How are you feeling? Just getting over a cold. The congestion is for the birds. Also, my nausea seems to have gotten worse this week. Eating used to help fight the nausea but that's not giving me relief anymore. I get nauseous from not eating and then a different kind of nausea after eating. Oh and I'm starving every 30 minutes which is also frustrating because food aversions galore. My boobs HURT now more than ever. And broke out really bad with acne on my chest and face this week.

What's bothering you most this week? I started to get a little worried because I've been very crampy today and yesterday. But I think it's just because I'm dehydrated. I haven't been drinking nearly enough water since getting sick (due to sore throat and water kinda making me nauseous). I'm chalking it up to that and the constant cough. Trying to up my water intake today.

  • Feeling?   I'm 7w2d and insanely tired. Nauseous, but being managed with Seabands and ginger or mint gum. Major indigestion. Food aversions...only tolerating like 5 different foods.

Bothering me the most?  Cramps from gas/constipation. UGH. Eating fiber one bars is helping a little.

Questions/advice?  Get outside of you can! This is my 3rd pregnancy, 1st one not working. Being home all.day.long had me feeling worse the last 2 weeks. Finally got out this weekend, and I felt so much better!

@clb1984 - my first OB didn't do early US, so I didn't find out EDD was 2 weeks off until like 21 weeks - sucks going back, especially that late :(
  • Omg I loved that movie as a kid. I've joked that if it's a boy, I'll name him Junior...if it's a girl, I'll name her Junior  (june-ya lol).

Well,  morning  sickness has kicked in. At 8+4, I thought I would make it through with only mild nausea. But starting late last week, all afternoon and evening I'll have extremely uncomfortable nausea and the past two mornings I've vomited upon getting out of bed.  :s

My acne is the most bothersome symptom though. It gets better, only to flare up again.

I don't really have any questions or advice. I'm just ready for second tri. Only one more month!

  • How are you feeling? I'm 6 weeks and 4-5 days. Nausea has definitely set in. I'm nauseous in the morning and at night a lot too. Boobs are tender to the touch.

What's bothering you most this week? Just exhausted. I'm ready to pass out at 7 but that's when I usually go to the gym so I've been making myself go but I'm sooooo tired

Questions/Advice: anyone else going to document their pregnancy weekly? I just ordered a board off of etsy to document it. I can't wait!!

Adding a rave here... I've got my first ultrasound tomorrow!!!

If you normally have long cycles (40+ days) this could explain why your u/s dated you earlier than you thought.

Fx the next u/s shows growth/improvement/healthy baby!

  • So sick. Ugh. Only actually thrown up twice. But regularly feel like absolute trash. Eating helps. I want all of the spicy things. And Subs.

Also suppperrr tired. Glad that DS still naps twice a day. Definitely sleeping too, but not getting my runs in because of feeling like this. And not exercising gives me anxiety.

My biggest problem is I am terrified that my BP is creeping up already. It's not even normal. BP normally improves in the first tri for women with existing hypertension. I had normal BP before being pregnant. I am starting to creep up. I test daily at work. I went from around 116/72 to 124/80. Not high enough to treat, for sure, but I am so scared that this time will be way worse than last time. I just want to be normal and be pregnant and not think the whole time that my baby will be born ridiculously early and I will get so sick again. DS was due July 25th, she took me out of work memorial day weekend, and he was induced July 1st because my liver was showing signs of damage. Hoping that my Dr apt March 10th will give me a little hope. Last time I talked to her she said 'oh, none of that was your fault! It was your placenta. Don't blame yourself' but that gives me zero hope I can stop it from happening again. Sigh.

Sorry for long sad vent. I'm just scared.
  • @clb1984 just echoing what others said. I had been charting my cycles bc  they're super irregular and long so I know I O'd on CD 33, which makes my due date 19 days later than what it would be according to LMP. Do you normally have longer cycles or were you charting? Hopefully it's just that and your baby is actually measuring on target! Keep us updated.

  • I'm 7w1d

My main symptoms  are heartburn that I'm struggling  to manage  bit it is getting better ever so slightly. My nausea  hasn't been too bad in the grand scheme of things. It's been manageable, so at least I can go but my day somewhat  normally.  Holy gassy tho! I feel like my  entire digestive  system is exacting revenge on  me.

Right now I'm waiting for my dating ultrasound  appointment date/time to come in the mail. It's slowly killing me having to wait. I suspect they'll  move back my date but I can live with that.
  • I'm 8 weeks 3 days.

I had an awful day yesterday. So exhausted and nauseated. I didn't even get off the couch, then I laid down in the bed at 7.

The worst symptom for me right now is the fatigue. I don't feel like getting up for work. I literally lay in bed until 30 minutes before I have to leave my house (and I have three dogs to take outside)

How are you feeling?: Not horrible, on and off waves of nausea but no actual vomit yet.  Obviously exhausted and my patience runs very thin. My poor H. Also can't hide the after meal bloat to save my life. Especially if i've eaten a tiny bit more than i should. ( My Father in Law saw my after dinner bloat last night and asked if i was showing already...no sir, that is my food baby. thanks though   )

What's bothering you most this week?: My lack of patience. I don't like feeling annoyed with everyone 24/7. But it's there.

Questions/Advice: The snacking thing has helped with nausea so far. I've also ordered some hard ginger candies that are supposed to be wonder drugs.

@clb1984I was about 2 and 1/2 weeks off what i thought i would've been based on my LMP. But i had my first ultrasound and there was a strong heartbeat so I'm trying to not worry and chalk it up to our bodies being completely weird and erratic.

  • 9 w 1 day...boobs still sore, breasts are at least 1-2 cup size bigger....think its time for bra shopping. Still tired but not as tired as I have been. Random gagging/dry heaving still there but have actually only puked 3 times and not even that much. Discharge has been crazy...feel like a swamp down there, sorry if TMI. Pants are definitely starting to feel tight, I had to get a belly band to wear with some of my work pants that were a smaller size.

Constipation! My mom gave me some colace, has not really worked yet- pulling out the big guns and eating fiber one bars.
  • How are you feeling? Well I am an idiot and stayed up last night watching the Oscars so on top of my normal level of pregnancy exhaustion, I didn't get nearly enough sleep last night. I'm basically on an every other day schedule, one day I feel good, the next I feel like I got hit by a ton of bricks. Overall though I can't complain, I expected to feel worse!

What's bothering you most this week? Being at the office 5 days a week is taking a toll on me, both mentally and physically, right now. I looked at my calendar this morning and I don't have a holiday or day scheduled off for a month.

Questions/Advice: I'm sure I will think of something later
  • Thanks ladies, good to know! My cycles are usually 31-32 days, I wasn't temping so I've no real idea of when I ovulated... This was month1 of trying, I had an Amazon cart full of basal temp thermometers and fertility books when I took one last hpt and got bfp 6 days after my period was due. Hoping I just ovulated late and we were really lucky to catch the egg!

@fitlady21 good luck for your ultrasound tomorrow:)
  • 6+5 today, measuring a little behind but I had later ovulation and late implantation.

My breasts are really sore, and I think I'm headed to TJ Maxx soon for a new bra.  I'm also nauseous pretty much all day and threw up a little last night.  I actually have lost four pounds since I found out I was pregnant because I can't really eat anything, so I'm working on trying to fit in high density nutrition shakes.  This morning I made one with banana, avocado, almond butter, whey protein, and skim milk that was really good, and I was able to keep it down.

And OMG the gas, I'm so embarrassed.  I fear there is no cure for that.
  • 7w1d today (my ticker is wrong.. They adjusted my due date after today's ultrasound.)

This is week is soooooooooo much better than last week which I am so thankful for!! Last week I wasn't able to go to work very much and was so nauseous and weak I just stayed in bed a lot. This week I'm still having to take the Zofran but at least I can function. Still pretty exhausted though.

My random question... What are you ladies bringing to work for lunches? This past weekend I've been eating fast food (Panera... Qdoba.. Etc) for every meal because that's all that sounds good but that needs to stop! I need some inspiration.

  • @cd92007 , it's been a random selection of lunches of me!  Last week, SO was very sweet...packing me lunches every day:  spaghetti, a salad, some couscous etc.  But I'd not eat them and go get something that sounded more appetizing.  Ha.

This week I'm trying to be good.  I went to Trader Joe's last night and we bought a bunch of lunch stuff:  chicken salad, california rolls, a mexican salad and a pint of split pea soup.

Symptoms this week:  always hungry.  I feel like I'm eating so much more than usual.  Bouts of nausea, and sleepiness.  I can't stay up past 9pm!
  • How are you feeling?
So so bloated.  I haven't had to size up, but my work slacks get tight towards the end of the day.  I didn't even show until 18 weeks with DD, but I'm guessing a twins + 2nd pregnancy = maternity pants earlier.

What's bothering you most this week?
Nausea.  PIO shots are getting old too.

  • How are you feeling? Today (6w1d) I am just tired.  I was wired last night so I didn't get to sleep until late so I'm not totally convinced it's pregnancy fatigue yet...Other than that, my breasts are sore if I poke them and I feel like I have no motivation to actually work.  My brain just feels foggy and unfocused (had this all last week as well).  No nausea (knock on wood) and I wouldn't say the bloating is any more than I'm use to not pregnant.

What's bothering you most this week?  My mind bothers me the most.  I'm trying not to think that lack of symptoms mean something is wrong.  So instead I try to remind myself that I usually don't react the same way to things that other people do like side effects to medications and stuff like that.  At the same time, I'm trying to be grateful that I don't have the copious amounts of symptoms that you ladies are going through because honestly I would be happy to either not have to deal with the MS or have it for a short period of time :D

Questions/Advice: No questions right now, just taking it all day by day!

8w3d, and feeling all the same things as you! No nausea, just really, really tired (okay, I'm also bloated, meh). The lack of motivation and the foggy brain bothers me most...
  • How are you feeling?
Mostly pretty good. I learned eating/snacking every 3-ish hours keeps the hunger-nausea at bay for the most part. The worst is when I start to gag for apparently no reason; then my tummy immediately starts churning and I have to focus on breathing and being calm so I don't hurl. Sniffing my peppermint essential oil or popping a ginger mint helps, too.

What's bothering you most this week?
I have wicked sinus pressure which feels like a major contributor to my nausea because it screws up my equilibrium. I take real Sudafed when it's really bad but I've been trying to not take drugs if I can tough it out.

Also nighttime stuffiness which wakes me up because my mouth is made of the Sahara desert since I can't breathe out of my nose. I started using Breath Right strips on my nose, plus a humidifier next to the bed and that seems to have helped last night, so I will continue that for as long as I need to.

    Questions/Advice:
Thoughts on sinus pressure/stuffiness? I like Sudafed but I don't want to have to take some every day.
