Storytime: Do you remember the night you got pregnant?

Well, obviously we all know "how" you got pregnant, but are there any good stories or memorable nights to tell as to how your little angels came to be? Were you TTC or were you surprised? We all know roughly when we got pregnant so let's hear it ladies! Here's mine...

I know for sure when I got pregnant (within a day or so) as it was the only time I had baby danced within that timeframe. The guy I was occasionally seeing at the time and I went out to an opening night hockey game; and our team won in double overtime. Overall it was a super fun night, we celebrated by him drinking lots of beer and me lots of strawberry margaritas. I tracked my cycles religiously and knew I would be ovulating around this time frame; but drunk me didn't care and we baby danced without any protection. (I know, how responsible.) I usually can tell when I ovulate as I get cramps mid month on one side and I felt these cramps the following day at work. I took a Plan B that very night; but alas it was too late! Leading up to my positive pregnancy test; my Google search was full of "Plan B effectiveness post ovulation". It didn't come with very reassuring news; and here we are today telling this story. Overall, I feel blessed that my Plan B failed. This babe's a welcomed surprise in my life and I couldn't be happier for their arrival.

I can't be sure of the exact night but it was most definitely while my husband and I were on a six week tour/roadtrip around the country with the other member of his band (our mutual best friend). We had a loss the year before and since then we had not been using any birth control but also not actively tracking anything. We could have been in Nashville, some national forest in Indiana, Michigan, or maybe Denver when it actually happened haha, we will never know! We like to call the baby our tour souvenir!

I got my positive opk and we were about to leave for the airport to go to Oregon so I popped Murph in his crib with a bottle and attacked DH when he got home and then 15 minutes later we headed for the airport. We did it once more at his sisters house and that was it.

With Murph I was on bc but took it kind of here and there because we were about to start trying. My mom was in town and driving us nuts so we decided to "relax" a bit. We did it once and apparently had really good timing and boom Murph was made.

I guess the key to our success is family?? Gross

We had been TTC a couple of months- my husband works out of town and made a special trip home when I was ovulating. We did the baby dance like nobody's business.. Night and day. I even elevated my hips for 15 minutes after each time. Hubby went back to work and 2 weeks later I was taking pregnancy tests every morning before work like it was part of my normal routine. On November 2nd after doing my makeup I looked down at the test I had taken earlier and it said "PREGNANT" ... Even though we were TTC I still didn't expect that! Still the greatest day of my life thus far.

I was temping to track my cycles since I was coming off birth control. The first couple months I was off birth control we were like rabbits, excited about the thought of starting our family. Mind you I have a low sex drive and my husband is through the roof. We were on month four and just over having times sex in order to have a child. The month we got pregnant I kept on calling it a "business transaction" because we were only having sex to have a baby at that time. So I know the exact day my daughter was created.

We were actively ttc. We went to my aunts house for the weekend which also happens to be our old college town where we met. I was using a clear blue fertility monitor and got my high days. So we dtd on the floor of her house a few times. We refer to the baby as rocky (college mascot) rugburn (because that's what DH got)

Background: We were TTC for about six months. It was my second cycle of letrozole (femara).
So our 1st anniversary was that weekend and we took a beach trip with friends which turned into a big drunken bash. Anyway hubby got trashed and we ended up fighting with him sleeping on the couch. Well we begrudgingly BD'ed only twice in the fertile window the next two days. I was certain it wasn't our month given the massive amount of sex we had the past several months with no damn luck. However it worked out! Cliche bad timing story I know.

Yep. We conceived October 30. We had a miscarriage in September and it was taking awhile for my hcg levels to return to normal. I had my blood test the day before and my levels were almost to zero but not quite. I was told by my doctor ovulation wasn't possible yet since my levels weren't there but I felt I was ovulating so I figured let's try anyway. We only tried one time in that time frame and it was the night my doctor told me I couldn't ovulate yet. Well.... This baby girl clearly wasn't having it and was ready to come into our lives. And we are so grateful!!

Conceived Oct 15th. We moved out of state on Oct 18, so the 15 we knew was our last night to have sex in our own bed for a few months, as we were going to be staying with grandparents for a while.

I had just run out of BCP three weeks before and we'd decided on a whim to stop taking them and give my cycle some time to restart. We figured after 13 years on them it would take some time for body to figure out fertility. Especially since I was only 16 when I started them. Well, we were wrong!

@RideNRunMomma our stories are pretty similar...

We had been off of birth control for about 10 days since we had gone back and fourth with the idea of trying to have a baby. I knew it was possible based on a fertility tracking app I was using, but I didn't really think it would work (same reason - had been on BC for 10 years). We went up to his cousins farm for dinner drinks and a bonfire, came home and BD that night and the next morning. Then 12 days later I was super impatient and took two tests one said positive and one negative so I sat on our bed and cried myself to sleep. The next day I tested again because I was convinced - boom happy ending. And then I took about 6 more tests because I'm crazy and didn't believe it.

We were TTC for a while. We had a miscarriage in April and I had just gotten diagnosed with Hashimotos. I believe the day that it happened was Halloween. We dressed up as Ninja Turtles and then it was turtle time! Lol

I had seen so many negative tests in the past months that I waited forever to test. I was at least a week late before I tested. We were both so shocked and so happy!

Umm... We were on our third month of clomid (15th month TTC together) and hubs had to be at work in ten minutes. I reminded him that we hadn't in two days and that we needed to try that day. He (surprisingly) dropped his pants and we had a quickie in my desk chair. He was out the door five minutes later.

Youd think that wouldn't be special, but that was the moment when I felt like he actually truly wanted to try, (even though he'd been saying he did,) because he was willing in that mini crisis moment.

12 days later, I realized we hadn't in 12 days (whoops) and took a test. Got the faintest line I've ever seen. We couldn't have been more surprised for two people who were trying so hard.

I wish I could pin down a specific night. I had mostly given up actively trying after 10 months with no success getting pregnant (which I know isn't long at all), and had spent the 2 weeks prior to ovulation drinking too much (we had a fun new roommate), followed immediately by a nasty upper respiratory infection the week of ovulation. Any sex occured in a confused blur of Nyquil, cough drops, and fever reducers. So I was extremely shocked to get my BFP a few days before my Halloween party, within an hour of buying all of the alcohol.

Our was very romantic. .. a dim room room, quiet music, a Dr with a speculum. Having to wait 15 minutes after IUI transfer to get my scrubs on and rush into work. It was a crappy day BLW. I walked into a trauma. But whatever, it worked.

I'm not quite sure of the date but we decided to start trying in March. I had my iud taken out in January because they thought it had punctured my uterus and I went back on bcp. Stopped taking them the first week of March and we just kind of stopped caring about being safe. I started taking a test once a month even though my periods were normal. I started a new job in September, and we decided that maybe we should stop trying for a bit. We both hate condoms and I didn't get back on bc. Low and behold, October is apparently my fertile month (my edd is July 25th, DD's birthday is July 28th). I took my test a week before thanksgiving and he saw it first because I couldn't bear seeing another negative test. I cried when he said it was positive.

We had been TTC for 18 mts, even though clomid worked like a charm with our first baby, this time clomid wasnt making me ovulate, my hubbys sperm quality isnt great either so we moved on to Letrozole, then 6 rounds of IUI. No sucess even with all that. We had already decided that 6 rounds of IUI which hubbys insurance covered completely was our ending point. Having a healthy 4 yr old we were very accepting and at ease that it hadnt happen, 4 weeks after the BFN from the 6th IUI we gave away/sold/donated the storage room worth of baby stuff we held on too. We hadnt gotten back into sex for fun yet lol after forced relations for 18 mts (mood killer) but we had done it a few times in the mt. Two weeks after selling everything I was realizing I was 3 weeks late (i am never late but figured maybe it was a new appetite supressent i was trying) took a preg test that day on my lunch break and was shocked to say the least about the BFP! I was so over it and that possibilty so far from my mind it took a few weeks to get back on board with being happy lol my husband was thrilled enough for both of us lol went to the dr that day they told me I was 7 weeks pregnant! Yep i had sold all the stuff while pregnant! Ugg lol

I don't know the exact date, but it was somewhere around October 19th. We had tried for one month previously, but I was starting to worry because my sister had been trying for over a year with a lot of fertility issues. I was sure I was headed down the same scary path. I was also a little reluctant to REALLY try because I knew it would be terrible for my sister if I got pregnant before her and so easily. I tracked my temps for the first month but we really only did it once in the window. Then my sister got her BFP through IUI and I felt like we could get serious. So we definitely tried that 2nd month, which is why I can't really pin down a day.

A few weeks later, on my sister's birthday, I was sure I was getting my period so I took a quick wondfo test that was buried in my closet just so I could stop worrying about it. Turns out there was a line so faint I couldn't tell if I was seeing things. I ran into my bedroom yelling to my husband that I didn't know what to do and I couldn't read the test. Turns out they were expired, but I peed on another one to check. I thought the 2nd one was completely negative until I peeked at it again after getting ready to work and saw, again, the faintest line I've ever seen. I had to wait all day through work to go get a digital test and wait for my husband to get home. But when I took that, it almost immediately said PREGNANT. So here we are. My sister will be having twin boys and I'll be having a boy within a month of each other. We like to think her body was just waiting for me to be ready so we could experience this together.

It was somewhere between October 18th and 20th. I went off BCP in May and we started using condoms until August, as I figured it would take awhile for my body to adjust after being on BC for 8 years. In August we decided to take condoms away and see what happened. I was charting this whole time so I knew when I was ovulating. My DH had been out of town farming with his Dad for a week and when he got back home, we weren't even thinking about when I ovulated, we just missed each other. I took a test on Nov.2nd because I wasn't having any PMS symptoms and even though we had been trying was still surprised and excited to see Pregnant on the digital test.

Mines incredibly boring. Using period/ovulation tracker pinned it down to what week. DH had to leave work work halfway through so we got to business before he left. Then that Friday when he got back I had a hair apt and remember having a horrible pain on my left right side(I'm assuming body was sending an egg), texted my husband some romantic texts about we need to have sex when I get home so don't start dinner. Fast forward to Halloween weekend and missed period and here we are 22weeks later.

After multiple losses, we made our way to a specialist. After the first month on femara and my husband being out of town, he was summons to be chained to the bed the next month. He's a huge Michigan state fan, and the night of the Michigan Michigan state game was "go time".. He missed the end of the game due to timing, but we got out rainbow baby! After all the heartache, we get a funny story to tell this baby!

ETA... His team won in the last ten seconds.. It was a good night!

We had been trying for almost a year and had two losses. DH's mom came to stay with us for 9 days, which covered my entire fertile window. I was frustrated because DH didn't want to do it while she was here and I was going to miss a month of trying (at the age of 37, when every month counts!). I decided to try to change his mind one night and it worked. like @Taymiller , family was our lucky charm!

We'd been trying for 3 years but had recently found out I had celiacs, so I was cautiously optimistic. We took an anniversary trip to this little town near where I grew up and just had a really sweet, quiet weekend before stopping in my hometown to hang with family. I knew I was supposed to ovulate that weekend but I actually felt the egg drop while I was drunkenly moonwalking with my sisters in law. I was temping and watching all the signs so when everything pointed to pregnant two weeks later I figured it was too good to be true and braced myself for another negative test. But there was the faintest line I'd ever seen and sure enough, here we are now.

Mine is pretty boring: we were TTC for 6 months, and I had finally started tracking my temp and CF in the final 2 months. Just before it was time to try for the month of October we were joking around, saying July would be the worst possible month to have a baby (career-wise). I started getting horrible PMS a week after ovulation (I ovulated 10/9 but not sure when I conceived) and was in a terrible mood about it. This PMS was like nothing I had ever felt before. My very first half-marathon was coming up on 10/28 so I kept trying to push it all out of my head and focus on my race. By the time I ran my race, I knew I was pregnant. I hadn't taken a test, but I knew. I wasn't having PMS, I was pregnant. The day after my race I woke up and took a test: sure enough, it was positive. I had already been telling DH I was sure I was pregnant, so both of our reactions were extremely lackluster!

It was October 30th, mayyyybe the 31st. Using my period/ovulation tracker, I knew those were some of my most fertile days. On the 30th, we had "fancy date night" and ate yummy French food and drank A LOT of wine. Then it was all, "Let's try to make a baby" time. I'll spare you details.

We did it once more the next day for good measure, and then DH got a nasty cold so that was pretty much it. I wasn't holding out hope but bought a pack of tests just so I could know either way. When the first had a faint line, I almost fell over. Ran out to get a pack of digitals to confirm. Six tests later, I guess I finally believed it. And then I spent the next few days in tears, as both he and I had wanted kids for so long and couldn't believe it was finally our chance.

I remember exactly the day because it was our only slip up. H had just got home from being gone for 3.5wks. We went into our guestroom because our youngest sleeps in our room in his crib and after being gone for a while we wanted good sex. It was amazing but we got a little too excited and here I am now.

We were going to revisit the conversation for the possibility of #4 this month actually, so while we knew there was a good chance I was KU (my two previous AF were super wonky because of hormones/BFing so I wasn't exactly sure of my dates), we weren't trying, and were kind of surprised/in denial.

We'd been trying since our first loss in 2013, lost three more (the last was in July) and DH was kind of at a breaking point with all of it by the time October rolled around. This baby has been a really healing gift for us. We never used to talk about our losses with anyone and DH had a lot of anger about it, but one night at our little Bible study group we were talking about praying over our deepest fears and hopes and we were supposed to write down one word that we wanted to pray about. We both wrote 'baby' at the same time and DH broke down crying and finally opened up to other people besides me about what had been going on. That month we tried again even though DH was really afraid to face another loss, and our miracle baby is still here 22 weeks later! Through the whole painful process, hope just kind of showed up when we were pretty much out of it. We were talking very seriously about quitting TTC for good and looking towards adoption in September, right before all this happened.

Another non romantic story. We were TTCAL it was our second month and my body was still really messed up. I was tracking my cycle with OPK,
temps etc and twice before my body geared up to ovulate without a temp rise. The afternoon we conceived I got yet another positive OPK but we were really burned out from sex EOD for the past 30ish days. I told DH about the positive OPK but we had no big hope it was a positive one and not a fake LH surge again. So we convinced ourselves (hehe very romantic!) to do it one more time! And that Time was the one! It was probably the most boring sex we had (we both agree!) and decided we're never gonna tell our kid anyways about is conception (because who wants this talk anyways!) I found out the morning of DH's wedding by testing for the sole purpose of getting drunk. I had spotting the night before so I was sure I was out and was really depress!

I was tracking temps so I know it was around October 16. We had been trying for one month previously, but I was really stressed and my temperatures showed that. I finally started to relax when we went on vacation to Disneyland with family and tada! She is our Disney baby. My husband is always joking about how magical Disney is. I found out on Halloween. I had a really high temp spike that day so I took a test early. I got a really strong positive right away. I started screaming and my husband cried. It was a great moment.

We decided to be done after #2. I wasn't on BC or condoms after the birth of DD, so we used the pull out method(stupid I know) it works for a while. I don't even remember what night it was. I just remember DH finishing and I yelled at him that he was suppose to tell me so he could pull out. I really didn't think much of it, I don't track my cycle. My friend texted me the weekend before I found out I was pregnant and asked if I was. I laughed and told her no. We've always been pregnant at the same time and it was totally random that she said that. Fast forward to Oct 16th. I still hadn't had my period and woke up and wondered maybe I am pregnant. I had a dollar store test. My mom and future sister in law were in town to look at wedding dresses. So I take the test and my mom comes over and I show her. I was in shock. We went shopping and decided not to tell SIL. It was hard. So here I am, #3 22 weeks. DH was actually going to get snipped this month.. Not anymore.

We ttc for five years and had two losses along the way. I was actually done with trying but my husband wanted to give it another go and our province was in the process of approaching health care coverage of one round of ivf so we figured we would partner with the fertility clinic till feb 2016 if nothing happened then we would adopt. In October i pushed back the iui appointment a month because a family member was dying and I didn't want extra stress but we figured we'd still give it the good ol' college try. October 12th I ovulated, the Blue Jays smashed Texas in the ALDS and we had WAY too much to drink. November 1st I had the I can't believe it's true positive test. It's only really since our anatomy test I've begun to realize we will actually get to bring a baby home and thereby crying all the happy tears all the time.

We had 2 weddings 2 weekends in a row and I'm pretty sure it was the second wedding just based on dating! It was the first night alone without ds who was 3 months at the time, he stayed over at his grandparents house. We went to our good friends wedding and our best friends told us they were 5 weeks pregnant, after many cocktails dh and I both said we wanna have a baby the same time as them! Lol many many drinks! We both woke up with quite the hangover and 4 weeks later found out we were pregnant! They say you are very fertile after having a baby, we'll in my case it was true! I was still breast feeding at the time also! I will def start bc after LO is born 3 under 3 is not happening over here!

Our October: sell old house, buy new house, move in with my parents, me traveling for work 15 days in the month, taking care of our ten month old= sex once during the entire month.... and that's all it took

after doing ivf for our daughter, the act of taking a positive pregnancy test and telling my husband I was pregnant was a top ten moment for me. And we like to think we'll always have a part of our old house with us forever since that's where LO was conceived

Ah yes... DH took a nudie pick of me in the bathroom of our fertility center and an hour later, a trusty catheter and syringe and our fertility specialist and we were on our way. I do remember testing while we were in NYC- bought a pregnancy test from Duane Reade and tested in our hotel room. We were visiting my parents that weekend too and had to hide it- DH was wasted the whole time b/c he was drinking all the beers I had to order in front of them!

We had an early loss in June during a phase of NTNP. We took the summer off to heal. I read TCOYF in that time and started temping which is when I realized I ovulated earlier than average (CD14 you liar). We started actively TTC in September and then got our BFP in early November. Based on temping there are 3 times it could be, but the best timing was actually a
night neither of us were super into it. Oh well, sex is sex and here we are!

Had Mexican food for my dad's birthday with soooooo many margaritas. Had some sex, told my husband that we were making a baby and not to pull out

threw up a bunch that night and the next day. A week after, I was throwing up everyday until BFP (also the day of my wedding). Classy.

I like reading everyone's stories!

Not sure if there are any Green Bay Packer fans out there, but ours was the night Aaron Rodgers threw a Hail Mary pass in the end zone to win the game. SO was pretty excited about the win... I was heading out of town the next day for 5 days, so this was the only day during the ovulation time frame. I joke now that we should name the babies Aaron or Erin. We had been off b.c for 18 months and apparently this was what it took!

@tmk0325 I'm a Packers fan and with my first baby I was told it was a girl so when I gave birth to a boy he didn't have a name...the day I spent in labor was the day that Aaron Rodgers came back after being injured for so long in 2013 so I half jokingly said we should name our name-less baby boy Aaron...it wound up on the short list and ended up being the "winner" so now I have a 2 year old named Aaron (my husband is a Giants fan though so he won't admit why it's his name
