@babylonghorn16 - The line tests are extremely reliable at 14dpo, so I wouldn't worry about getting a false negative. Just avoid the other kinds of tests! FRER all the way! Definitely a good call to check with your RE first though!

Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014 IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs IVF ER (July 2016) = 7 PGS normal embryos FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17 FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
I accidentally posted in the wrong thread last time, but this is the one I want. I am a TOTAL newbie to this site. HA! So, please bear with me!
I had my first IUI on 2.18 with trigger shot (100 mg of Clomid to start the cycle) and will test on 3.3. I had 3 mature follicles, and husband sperm looked great! Fingers crossed. Nice to see others going through the TWW at the same time.
I'd love to join you ladies in the 2WW! And I apologize, I do not have all the lingo down on wording.. BUT, here goes..... I triggered (took a shot) of ovidrel on 2/21, timed intercourse yesterday and today. Had 3 mature follies when I got my US last Thursday (Or my Dr. said they'd be mature by yesterday).
Will start on prometrium on Wednesday and HOPE I get a BFP!
@babylonghorn16 - I have been having the same experiences with my friends. I had a holiday party in December and I was 1 of 4 women out of 16 total women that wasn't pregnant. One, wasn't trying and got pregnant ( I partied with her the weekend before at a work function), one on IUD (definitely not trying) and got pregnant, one that has sex with her husband twice a year- pregnant, one who "pulled the goalie" pregnant first try. It is super frustrating!!!
@rchef21 & @Jsmorrissey Welcome!! GL to you both. 3 mature follies for both of y'all - wow! That's great. Prayers for y'all.
@Jsmorrissey ugh so annoying! At least I'm not the only one feeling this way. Just pains me bc most of these women don't realize what a gift they've been given. My friend (the one mentioned in previous post) got wasted on Super Bowl Sunday and last week... both times she said "I hope I'm not pregnant!!"; and here I am abstaining from alcohol and coffee (my love), seeing zero results! Makes me want to pull my hair out in frustration. Anyway, I know that when we all finally get our little miracles, we will NOT take it for granted!

I can totally relate. I broke down when my sister in law got pregnant. I also lost it at her shower but luckily I walked away and went outside, called my mom and just bawled. And then she got pregnant with her second. My brother just got married in June. If his wife gets pregnant before me I will for sure lose it. He's my younger brother. When I see all these Facebook posts with pregnancy announcements I always feel a little sad but when it's someone very close to me I'm devastated for at least two days. So messed up!! Anyway at 4dpiui now so have a long way to go. Haha
@Drove2u I totally understand. Sucks having these feelings bc I know it's "not right". Husband doesn't make me feel any better when I tell him how I feel... says I should be happy for them and not be envious. I know he's right, but jeez, way to kick me when I'm down!
Anyway, I'm having fun lurking on the various walls here. Lots of BFPs!! Making me very optimistic that this time around it could be me getting a BFP! Seems weird/impossible to think of myself as pregnant though. I want it so bad, but it seems so distant. Just sometimes feels like it's out of reach...idk.
But enough about that... how's everyone feeling today?

@babylonghorn16 - im 3dpiui and other than occasional night sweats nothing to report unusual. Feeling pretty good and just trying to stay busy during this TWW! I cut out caffeine last cycle and this time I'm having in moderation as RE says was totally fine. Hope everyone else can get through this TWW without testing early!!! I stopped testing early way before getting to RE when we were TTC on our own just because even when I saw a bfn i never believed it until AF arrived so i learned my lesson early. So much easier said than done !!!
@Starlight811 I'm 4dpiui and have been having the most vivid dreams - although I'm trying to keep my symptom spotting to a min... learned my lesson last cycle. And I don't really think preg symptoms show this early. So I'm blaming EVERYTHING on meds!
I decided to be way more strict on myself this cycle because it's my last before going to IVF... and bc I don't want to keep doing the EXACT same things as my last 2 cycles. Trying to mix it up (safely of course)!
I agree with not testing early. I never believe the negatives either, so might as well wait! It's torturous though.
Do you mind reminding me of your history? I'm sure you posted somewhere!

@babylonghorn16 and not to mention if i saw a BFP i would still not believe and blame hcg trigger!! Dx is DOR im 28 i am on cycle 2 of 100mg clomid + trigger + IUI. Last cycle i responded very slow this cycle responded much faster that my IUI may have missed one mature follicle due to size and earlier O. I am trying up to 3 IUI then on to IVF. Also did HSG test b4 any treatments very painful they used a teneculum results were fine and DH SA was normal and great counts
@Starlight811Thanks for sharing! Hopefully you didn't miss O and everything works out! GL!!
I'm feeling very bloated lately. Feel like I've gained weight due to lack of exercise. I don't want to cause too much stress, so I've pretty much stopped exercising completely. I ran during the last cycle, and that was unsuccessful... so I may be crazy, but I'm going to continue to hold off. Anyone exercising through their IUI cycle?

@babylonghorn16 last month I decided to abstain completely from exercise for the whole TWW and it resulted in a BFN. All it did was make me feel disgusting for not taking care of myself. This cycle I am going about my regular exercise regiment. As long as you aren't pushing yourself too hard or adding anything too difficult, I think it is a good idea to keep doing what you're doing during your TWW.

5dpiui and it is dragging! @starlight811 I am in a similar situation as you. @babylonghorn16 I feel very disgusting. The only form of exercise I have done is skiing. However, I was helping teach my nephew, so I took it really easy. My goal is to take it easy, RE also recommended it, soo...how can you argue with that
The discipline you ladies have by not testing early is impressive. I am going to try try try NOT to test early. I really want to. I typically have a pretty short cycle, so AF is scheduled to arrive in the next couple days'. FX that, that does NOT happen. Positivity!!!!
@ultratomato yay! Exciting. How are you doing with your TWW?
@erica0901@Jsmorrisseyglad I'm not the only one feeling gross... also sorry y'all do too! I think I'll do some light exercise tomorrow... maybe just some speed walking around the neighborhood with some hand weights - old lady style . Thanks for your feedback!!
@Jsmorrissey wow - AF in a couple days?? That seem SUPER short! Well I have a really LONG cycle, so maybe it's not that crazy ! Are you taking progesterone (prometrium)? My doc put me on to hopefully stop AF from showing... even though last time didn't work out too well. GL and stay strong!

@babylonghorn16 I always feel so bloated on medicated cycles. Ugh. I bought a stationary bike stand so I could still ride my bike when it's cold out. I get a lot of walking in at work as well. It all feels like a crapshoot on what will work and what won't.
@Jsmorrissey Does your RE know your cycle is that short? A 7-8 day luteal phase is incredibly short to get the job done. I would definitely question it if you haven't already. Does your RE do a 7 day progesterone test?
I feel so detached this cycle. I need to get out of this funk...although it helps keep stress levels low since I'm not constantly worrying about what dpiui I am. Hope ya'll are doing well!

@Jsmorrissey I'm doing good DH and I go in to talk about ivf since it's the next step. I just feel this iui did not work. I know I should be positive but it's hard . Good luck ladies and I will let you know how the consult goes
also I went to my parents house and saw two stuffed monkeys. My mom said that it's the year of the monkey and that she thinks I'm going to have twins. Way to put the horse before the cart. I hope she realizes if this cycle and next don't work they won't be the year of the monkey lol. Although they are really cute and soft and she said she couldn't resist when she saw them at Costco lol
I've been exercising five days a week with a little cardio, barre classes and aerial classes. Not sure if there is scientific proof but from what I've seen with a bunch of friends, those who were fit had easier and shorter labor while those who decided to "rest" (for 9 months, not doctors orders) were in labor over 24 hours. Also you lose the baby weight quicker when you're already fit. So I plan on exercising during iuis and ivfs and pregnancy unless my doctor tells me not to. It also helps me keep my mind off things and releases stresses a bit.
It is perfectly fine and healthy to exercise during your TWW! You just don't want to overdue it. No heavy lifting or high impact, and definitely not something your body isn't already used to doing. DH and I do a brisk walk for 3 miles every morning (7 days a week) and I've been continuing to do that. I think it would be unhealthy for me not to do it since it's what I'm used to doing.
@Jsmorrissey - Just because your cycle is typically short doesn't mean you will start AF at the same time if you triggered later. Your luteal phase should stay the same length. For example, if you usually have a 25 day cycle and ovulate on CD 12, then your LP is 13 days. If you triggered/ovulated later in your cycle, your LP should still be 13 days and your cycle will be longer. Your cycle length won't stay the same if you ovulate at a different time in your cycle.

@wifeinraleigh28 3 miles every morning?! Wow , that's commitment! Good for you! I'm not a morning person, so maybe I'll do my walk in the evening.
@Drove2u I've heard the same - so I definitely want to be in shape!! I'm just so uncertain right now.
@Lin&say I know what you mean - doesn't seem to be any one "formula" that works. Hope you get out of your funk, although I completely understand how you feel. Not obsessing over dpiui is nice though!
I'm going to call my RE's office today and get some advice since they know my exact situation/diagnosis. Thanks again!
@ultratomato my MIL did something similar to me - texted me that she bought an extra grandchild stocking for this coming Christmas and that she hopes she'll be able to use it. Um, me too!!! Hi Ladies! @babylonghorn16@wifeinraleigh28@lin&say AWWWW, I so appreciate your concerns and insight!!! Yes, my RE absolutely knows that my cycle is typically that short, which was another (small) concern along with my low AMH levels (biggest concern). The Clomid helped make my past 2 cycles a lot longer (which is one of the perks for me). I was in there 2 + times a week (after clomid) doing ultrasounds to monitor my follies before she gave me the date for the trigger shot and IUI. I feel so lucky living in CO as there are 3 IF clinics ranked in the top 25 in the country, and I am going to one of them. (a friend who had a recent successful IVF recommended her). Adjusting my cycle is the easy part, getting my eggs to be "less mature" is a whole other ball game, hence my 20 pills/day regimen to get those eggs feeling young again, HA. Thanks again!!! It is so nice to have conversations with others that totally understand what is going on and actually care!!!
@ultratomato it sounds like you are ready for something more aggressive. But I love your positivity in knowing there are still options out there. FX crossed this IUI is the one, though!!!!
I was also wondering... do you any of your have stressful jobs??? My job can be so stressful, which I know is not great, but can't very well stop working (not that I want to). Insurance covers NOTHING for me. But I feel like I need to miss even more work and go to yoga or something to decompress during work hours...Priorities!!!! Although, I will say Acupuncture is seriously helping in that department as well.
I am putting positive thoughts into the universe for all you ladies!!!
@Jsmorrissey I have a very stressful job. I work for the state for child protective services . So I remove kids and access the safety of the children. I never know what my day is going to be like. I'm just happy that I have great insurance that covers treatment and great supervisors who are understanding with days off. And I also have a good amount of sick days and other days I can use
So just got back from the ivf consult and my luteal b/w and ultrasound. So they said that they couldn't see my right ovary because of the endometrium. Has anyone have this happen?
@Jsmorrissey - My job can sometimes be stressful. I'm a marriage and family therapist in private practice. I make my own decisions regarding case load and hours, but it can be stressful when/if I have a client in crisis. This doesn't happen nearly as much in PP as it used to when I worked in community mental health. My job can also get exhausting if I have a lot of sessions back to back... @ultratomato Are you a MSW or BSW? When I worked in community mental health I worked with a lot of kids in foster care and provided reunification therapy for families. I did a lot of case coordination with CPS. It was very rewarding work but definitely much more stressful than what I am doing now!

I'm a psychiatric nurse in a long term inpatient state hospital. My job can be extremely stressful most days. It is always at the least very interesting lol. So I didn't have a yeast infection. I still don't know what that was all about. I'm 8dpo and I tested early against my better judgement. Of course it was negative. I'm not feeling very confident about this cycle now. I also don't know about doing any more IUIs. I've done two and my blood sugar has gone to crap these last two months. I'm seriously considering taking some time off to get that straightened out before trying again. Sometimes I even feel like giving up altogether and settling with the fact that I'm not meant to be a mommy.

@arbasham don't give up and say things that you aren't meant to be a mommy. I know we all feel down but it will happen stay positive. A month off may be good. Don't give up on the cycle till AF
@arbasham Chin up! You will be a mommy some way some how. We are all here to support and cheer you on. 8dpo is extremely early to be testing so don't count yourself out yet. This is such a sucky and exhausting process and it's totally normal to feel like giving up. Maybe time off to clear your head and get your blood sugar in control would be very helpful for you. Try to keep the negative thoughts at bay (easier said than done, I know) and keep the end goal of being a mommy in mind. You'll get there, girl. Hang in there!

I also walk to lunch and back and try to take quick walk breaks on particularly stressful days! Glad I have y'all to talk to as well
@arbasham hang in there! I get angry sometimes and wonder WHY this is happening... but you just gotta keep pluggin. **TW-kind of random, but I was thinking about my test date and it came to me, that my test date is the exact same date that I did a poas last year and got a very faint BFP. It's just so strange that this cycle is essentially the exact same as one year ago.
Hope you all have a good night! Positive thought for those BFP's.
@Jsmorrissey That's so crazy! How are you feeling? ONE MORE WEEK!!
So we are going on vacation next week to visit my best friend. Was talking to her today, and basically had to tell her that I can't drink this trip bc I might be pregnant. She's the only person I've told other than my husband (of course). It's nice that it's out in the open and I won't have to make excuses, but will also suck if I have to tell her I'm not pregnant. Just hoping that doesn't happen and she'll be the first to know we're expecting! One can dream...

@babylonghorn16 I think it's great that you told her. I have gotten to the point, where if I feel I want to tell people, I'm going to and vice versa. It's all up to you. She will be a great support not matter what happens! Vacay sounds amazing! I'm feeling envious of you right now. EEEK one more week. If I can wait that long. I have an appointment with RE on Wednesday to go over blood work, so I will probably poas so I can just tell her when I see her what the results are.
@Jsmorrissey So you will know on Wed?! That's SO SOON!! Really rootin for you!! Lots of prayers sent your way!
AFM - I will most likely POAS next Thursday. Going to get my blood work done at a lab during vacay, but those results probably won't come back until Saturday. Boo! Seems like my body is getting used to the meds. Not bloated today (thankfully!), but boobs are still SO SORE. Husband also says they are swollen (I think he's enjoying this part of the TWW lol). Some mild cramping here and there. More like *twinges*, I guess. Still, trying not to look too much into anything!

So this time around I'm not over analyzing my symptoms or lack there of. Rather I just will wait this last week out only 6 days left and I have a feeling it didn't work but still trying to be positive. Can't wait for ivf at this point. How's everyone else? Any plans for the weekend?
@babylonghorn16 Thank you!! Same to you!!! so exciting. I have some cramping as well, but I don't know what that means, so trying not to read too much into it either way.
@ultratomato like I just said above. I am not trying to read too much into it either. It's hard to keep that in check, though. I am hoping you don't have to go IVF route. Fingers crossed. We test so soon, kind of!!!! ha!!!
Weekend plans-Tonight co-workers going away HH. I stated in the Feb. IUI thread that it should be interesting trying to figure out how to hide the fact I am not drinking, when I usually drink around these particular people. Tomorrow-Baby Shower.
@Jsmorrissey I have trouble with that as well. I'm known for having a good time, so people get rather suspicious when I pass on a glass lol. The past two cycles I would drink a glass of wine every now and then, but this one I am abstaining completely. Just say you gave alcohol up for lent! That's my excuse this time around! GL with baby shower - I know that can be difficult. Proud of you for being so selfless! I'm having trouble even being around my friend who just told me she was preg. Hi Ladies!

I decided to be way more strict on myself this cycle because it's my last before going to IVF... and bc I don't want to keep doing the EXACT same things as my last 2 cycles. Trying to mix it up (safely of course)!
I agree with not testing early. I never believe the negatives either, so might as well wait! It's torturous though.
Do you mind reminding me of your history? I'm sure you posted somewhere!

@Jsmorrissey Does your RE know your cycle is that short? A 7-8 day luteal phase is incredibly short to get the job done. I would definitely question it if you haven't already. Does your RE do a 7 day progesterone test?
I feel so detached this cycle. I need to get out of this funk...although it helps keep stress levels low since I'm not constantly worrying about what dpiui I am. Hope ya'll are doing well!

also I went to my parents house and saw two stuffed monkeys.

She doesn't know what we are going through with IF... I think she has an idea though. FX that both us of will get some good use out of these little gifts THIS YEAR!

Hi Ladies! @babylonghorn16 @wifeinraleigh28 @lin&say AWWWW, I so appreciate your concerns and insight!!!

I have a very stressful job.

So I didn't have a yeast infection. I still don't know what that was all about. I'm 8dpo and I tested early against my better judgement. Of course it was negative. I'm not feeling very confident about this cycle now. I also don't know about doing any more IUIs. I've done two and my blood sugar has gone to crap these last two months. I'm seriously considering taking some time off to get that straightened out before trying again. Sometimes I even feel like giving up altogether and settling with the fact that I'm not meant to be a mommy.

@Jsmorrissey I work for a large IT consulting firm - more on the sales side now, but technical background. It can be pretty stressful sometimes, but I think everyone's job can put stress on them in one way or another. I have to remind myself to BREATHE. I also walk to lunch and back and try to take quick walk breaks on particularly stressful days! Glad I have y'all to talk to as well
@arbasham hang in there! I get angry sometimes and wonder WHY this is happening... but you just gotta keep pluggin. Modern medicine these days is insane, and I really believe we'll all get our BFP someway, somehow.
