Total side note but looking at the Love Its on here from yesterday I just noticed that JS8812 was banned . . . What for? even looking back at her posts I can't see anything bannable. very confused
@valerie4786 I love those curtains! Those are exactly what I've been looking for, so I was hoping you were going to say you bought them somewhere so I could run out and get them! Your sister did a great job!
I am soooooooooo far behind..... this post is makes me feel like a SLACKER!!!! They all look amazing... I have drawings and stuff bought and picked out.. but absolutely nothing done!!! Yikes... 14 weeks is too soon!!!!!!

I found the fabric shower curtain at Target! I think it was only like $14.99. All she did was cut it in half, hem the sides and make the loop at the top! I have no sewing skills and she is great at sewing, so if you sew or know someone that sews it's apparently a pretty easy project!

I don't sew, but I may call my tailor and ask him for a quote to cut and hem it like that. Thanks!
So excited that the cribs came in today!! my dad did all the work in our nursery. He painted the walls, put in the trim, installed the chandelier, and even did the hardwood floors! loving how it looks so far. Still need a few more things like the fabric for the canopies, mattresses, change pad, and I'm looking for a nice mirror to go above the dresser.
His room is empty and the carpets were cleaned last night so I can finally do something! The walls are already a medium gray and will stay that color but we are painting a few white stripes on the longest wall. I have all my fabrics ready to make bedding and pillows... When I say I, I mean mostly my mom lol... The colors are white, gray, and navy with a punch of lime!
@pia_colada I'm absolutely in love with your room! Wouldn't even change one bit!!! I was having an eye on those crowns as well! Just a little bit out of my price range.
I know, I posted pictures of our nursery a while back, but we finally put our canopy up. It's actually an old accent table we painted and just added curtains, still need to iron those. And we are done!
Finally have painted walls! Now we need to fill them up with something cute. DH wants vintage cars and planes. So will get designs done and printed on canvas.
Wish we had carpet instead of tiles but with our heat it doesn't make sense!
Loving all of these beautiful nurseries! I have major mommy guilt that DS1 had a gorgeous room to come home to and DS2 doesn't have anything yet. We still need to convert our office into a makeshift nursery. This thread is great motivation!
Also if anyone is looking for artwork that's not so cutesy I'm a huge fan of theanimalprintshop.com, that's where we got the photos on the left side for DS1.
@hellogoodbye2 did you make those paper flowers yourself? I always thought this would be a fun craft to get into, and then when I tried it I found out that these things take SO LONG to make. So if you did, I'm very impressed!! Either way it's super cute!
Thanks @caterin!! Your canopy looks amazing!! It's even more special since you guys made it yourselves beautiful nursery. Also loving the silver accents with the frames
@Charissadeats beautiful!! I have a thing for white/grey nurseries! I find them so soothing & awesome bc the room is also more versatile after baby grows out of it. Love the rug too, goes so well with everything!
We finally got and put up the prints to go over the changing table, so the nursery is officially DONE! Next project: bringing our office furniture from downstairs (sort of open office next to kitchen/living room) into a small loft area with have upstairs so we can set up a little playroom.
Check out my new pimped out closet! My MIL just finished wrapping these IKEA cubes with Very Hungry Caterpillar fabric, and embroidering the label tags, which are velcro, and I can swap them out for other labels when they are more appropriate as my little guy gets older. I love how there is a place for everything! It is going to make staying organized SO easy! (I still have to reorder the cubes in a way that makes more sense.)
I had enough energy after work to make dinner and get a nursery project done. Upgraded a plain ikea dresser using $30 worth of contact paper and knobs. This is a before and after

@Charla1224That's awesome! Did you paint the dresser and just contact paper the drawers? Was there any prep work involved?
Our cactus marquee came! Working on one area at a time - still need to finish the changing table, maybe this weekend or next.
Your kid is clearly going to be the coolest one on the block! This is amazeballs! Can you post more photos of your nursery if/when it's all finished? I'd love to see more!!!
@Jenly17 the dresser was already white. I used gold contact paper for the drawers and changed the knobs. The only prep work I did was use rubbing alcohol to wipe down the drawers and make sure there wasn't anything that would make the paper bumpy.
I want to update here so bad but our furniture is taking FOREVER to come in. We ordered it like 6 weeks ago, and BUY BUY BABY said 6-8 weeks, but I am losing patience!!!! I want to nest!
Is anyone else lacking a room for a nursery? We plan on eventually moving the new baby boy( once he's old enough) into our older sons room. They are three years apart so it should work out, and we don't have many options thanks to a limited number of rooms.
So the plan as of now is to keep baby in our room, which has wooden walls (as it was origionally a recreational room of some sort for the last residents.)We've put the crib in already, but wallpaper seems like it would work. We are waiting till after the baby shower to try and dress up "baby's corner" lol
Looking at all these room improvements I feel a little jelly.

I love it. Such an easy update and makes it look new!

Thank you for saying that! I will definitely post more pictures as things come together.
@myzticsunshine Yes. My boys will be sharing a room, so I've been slowly but surely making changes to DS's nursery to make it work well for a toddler and baby.
This is what we have so far for room decor - still have to hang it (waiting until we get the dresser in to see where we will place everything) - also got these curtains. I know, they aren't black out, but we'll see how much light really gets in to determine if we need black out or not.
Finally getting progress on her nursery! Got the crib painted (with baby friendly paint) and assembled, name letters painted and up, mobile up and then painted some shelves as well but haven't hung those yet.
The door for the nursery is finished! My mom painted this:
Some of the flowers/plants are decorative, and some have meaning. For example, there's a bluebonnet for Texas, and a sunflower representing my Kansas heritage (my dad's family is from there). There's a daisy because those are my favorite, the purple flowers are for my MIL, etc. I'm so excited - this is already my favorite part of the room so far.
