Hm....I was born in 1980...but haven't seen very many 80s movies. In fact....funny story. I live in Portland OR and a few summers ago my friends and I decided to head to the coast for the fourth of July. We ended up spending the day in Astoria, which is where the Goonies house is. They were all super excited and insisted we go there and when I said "Why?," they were like...."you've seen the Goonies before, right?" My answer of no completely blew their minds. Needless to say, a few days later we had a movie night and watched The Goonies. The only problem is they made it into a drinking game and I'm such a light weight that I spend most of the movie drunk and really don't have a clue what it was about nor can I remember much of anything about it!

A drinking game from the Goonies?!?!? Please explain...that sounds glorious!

I'm a HUGE Goonies fan, but my DH didn't see it until we were married and I made him watch it with me. We went to Long Beach, Washington on our honeymoon, and I insisted we travel to Astoria while we were there so I could experience all things Goonies! It was pretty much one of my favorite moments of our trip. Of course, Kindergarten Cop was also filmed there, so bonus points!! He thought I was a little crazy, but who cares, he thinks Star Wars is cool. Amateur!
I have seen goonies but I think that's where it ends. However, im more than willing to screen 80s movies if you guys give me some suggestions of the best ones
I have never seen the Goonies. And I strongly suspect that like most 80s nostalgia stuff, it does not hold up unless you associate it strongly with your childhood already. There, I said it.
Maybe I'm just cranky due to being apparently the second oldest person to comment on this thread, but my immediate thought when someone says "I wasn't born yet" in relation to popular entertainment is that I wasn't born in 1939, but I sure as f--k have seen "The Wizard of Oz" eight million times... Said with love, of course.
Pardon me while I go rewind all my videotapes and polish up my laserdiscs.

So old.
I mean I've seen classics like wizard of oz of course, my point was, I wouldn't be much help in a 80s movie themed anything since I've only ever seen one which is completely normal for someone who hasn't been born yet. I was also joking around. I've seen Snow White too and bunches of Disney movies from before my time but I have like 80 years to choose from, one specific decade half of us weren't around for might be tough. Did I mention I was joking?
ETA- one specific popular entertainment subject was never specified, we were speaking about a decade.

Even though i was born in 82, I never saw the Goonies until I was in college. My roommates and I watched it because I had never seen it before. It's a perfectly entertaining movie, but probably nothing like if I had seen it as a kid. My husband was born in 78, and I'm pretty sure he's never seen it.

I'm also still dying at that gif @parsonsperson. Is old lady gifs an option?
Just in case a Donald Trump challenge isn't the winner.
