2nd Trimester

Have you decided on a stroller?

I know I don't officially belong to this board yet, but I've got strollers on my mind and I figured you guys have looked into them more than the 1st tri girls.

I'm not even sure if we want to go with a jogging stroller, a travel system, or what...?

Re: Have you decided on a stroller?

  • I got the UppaBaby Vista because it's taller than most strollers (and DH is 6'6")
  • Loading the player...
  • I am registering for the Chicco Travel System

  • it's the chicco cortina travel system for us! :) We don't jog or anything so we're simple. I've heard BOB's are great for jogging if that helps...

  • we are getting a travel system (chicco cortina) and then also a smaller, lighterweight stroller.  Haven't decided on the light stroller yet.  Maybe a Maclaren?  If I find something on sale that I like I'll prob just buy it.  My sister has the Peg Perego Aria and loves it.
  • Yeah--I've had 5 or 6 of them by now--LOL!  I stick w/ the Snap-n-Go pre-6mo old & then a Maclaren after that. (I don't jog but if I did, I love the BOB).  If I had to start over I might have gotten a Phil & Teds or Jane Powertwin to begin with but by now, I think that's overkill.  I do have a Sit-N-Stand still but I didn't use it much before & probably won't again.  If I had a ton of extra money, I'd consider getting a double Maclaren...but DD #2 will be over 2 & she rather walk already, so I am not insisting on it.

  • i loved the uppa baby vista but we decided on the easy walker sky jogging stroller (i stumbled upon a great bargain for it!). ?it has a car seat adapter for the maxi cosi mico. ?i wasn't sold on a traveling system and this has everything we want for a jogging and everyday stroller without the bulk. ?plus i've read lots of reviews that it's easy to maneuver and stow away.

  • We are getting the Peg Perego Pilko 3 travel system. It was easy to fold up,light weigh and had adjustable handle for DH who is 6-4

I loved the neutral pattern, that wasn't baby looking or gender specific

  • we're getting the Bumbleride Flyer. Can't wait!
  • I have only looked online so far. We're going to try them out in person before deciding. I really like the bumbleride flyer but I'm not sure about the carseat and how it attaches, I'll have to see it irl first. Second in line is by Graco, haven't picked an exact style out yet..

  • We love love love our Maxi Cosi Foray stroller.  We used it with the MC Mico car seat when DS was smaller.  Very light, easy to fold and so eay to maneuver.  The only issue I had with it was the sunshade on the carseat.

This is our #1 choice right now for stroller and carseat. I'm so glad to see you like yours. :)

This is also what we're getting.. It's expensive. However, it comes with a lot of accessories and the option to purchase a rumble seat for when number 2 comes (no need for a double).

We love the way it handles.. I can't wait!

  • We are also team UppaBaby Vista.  I love it so much, for so many reasons.  Accessories came standard, no baby pattern (just solid colors), it's got 3 heights for the handles, which is good because DH is 6'5" and I'm 5'5".  We got it in the Myles color, which is a really pretty blue.  I can post pictures of ours if you want.  You should check it out!!

  • we're also going with the bumbleride flyer - i found it really easy to fold and it is really light - so easy for me to lift in and out of the car.  And i love the reversible handle.  we'll probably also get a jogging stroller [we're looking at the bob ironman] at 6 months or so - we have a lot of trails by us so we'll need one that can deal with the trails.

  • We're also getting the Chicco Cortina travel system. I'm actually going to go buy it today!
  • We have a Chicco Cortina and LOVE it. For a double we'll be getting the Sit N Stand double.
  • For the first months we will use the stroller base for the car seat--a friend gave us theirs. Once baby is out of that, we ordered the Baby Jogger City Mini. It is made by a jogger company but it isn't a jogging stroller. We live in suburbia so we don't need the suspension and air tires of traditional joggers, but we LOVED the features of this stroller. mostly the fact that it has a true one hand fold that is the easiest of all we tried out and it weighs 16 pounds. It isn't as plush, so I ordered a "snuzzler" that is a little extra padding for the baby.

My advice is to go "Test" drive strollers with your partner (especially if there is a height difference) and see what feels right. There are great reviews from parents through the baby bargains forum at: https://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=13

  • I bought a Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System...the stroller holds a child up to 50 lbs (most strollers only go up to 40 lbs) and the car seat holds a child up to 30 lbs and 32 inches (most car seats only go up to 22 lbs and 29 inches). It is supposed to hold up to 97% of children through the first 12 months of life (because you aren't supposed to switch to forward facing until 1 year of age).

  • Chicco Cortina Travel System- we love it
  • We are getting a bugaboo Cameleon.  We walk a TON and live in Midtown Atlanta.  We also like that the handle is adjustable and good for tall people.  I am 5'10 and DH is 6'7."  it is expensive but I think we will use it daily and possibly even take the baby too and from daycare in it...I love not having to get in the car.

  • We got ours about 6 weeks ago.  The one I liked (Gracco Quattro Travel System in French Roast) was being discontinued so we went ahead and bought it.  The choices for double strollers isn't that great, so we didn't want to lose the one we really wanted.  DH put it together right after Christmas and has been driving it around the house.  It holds the 2 carriers so we can get both of them around when they're little.
  • We've decided on the BOB sport utility with car seat adapter, because we are both runners and hikers.

  • Im doing a travel system its just easier when the baby is little...instead of disterbing them when they are sleeping you can just pull the carseat out and let them sleep....so much easier?

  • We've decided on the Bumbleride Indie.  It's compatible with both the Graco Snugride and Chicco Keyfit 30 infant seats (we are still stuck between these 2).

It's also a jogger if you want to use it for that purpose (which I will).
