Sorry to hear that. If you were planning on moving around during labor, I think you probably still can, though. My impression is that they can put the IV on a little wheelie stand so that you can be ambulatory.
It really is no big deal. Just ask that they use the cap off thing so they can easily unplug you from the bag of antibiotics while in labor. I was induced both times so I was on IV fluids and antibiotics the second time. They just either cappped off my line or had me drag the thign in to the bathroom or wherever with me.
Like PPs have said, I don't think it's a huge deal. I'm positive as well, and I asked my doctor if it was going to hinder me at all from walking or anything and she said absolutely not. I just have to have an IV of antibiotics. No biggie

My midwife said the only thing is that you have to get two doses at four hours apart although she added that plenty of women don't and their babies are fine, so you have to get to the hospital in enough time to do so. Though she also said as a FTM, it was very unlikely that I wouldn't get there in plenty of time. They plan on giving me the hep lock as well so they can unhook me between doses. It really seems like NBD.

Re: GBS +
Agreed, I actually found out way early that I was GBS+ and it is no big thing, just some IV antibiotics! Good luck, OP!
