What temp name have you given to your little one?

I always find it funny/cute to hear the names that parents-to-be given to their unborn child before their born or they find out if it's a boy or girl?  What name have you given your little fruit or lego?  What's the most interesting name you've heard of?

Re: What temp name have you given to your little one?

  • We've nicknamed the baby 'Nugget' and refer to it as such when talking to family or friends who know we're pregnant.   It's gotten to the point where my little 2-year-old niece asked what the babies name was in Aunties belly, so my mom told her 'Nugget.'  Now my little niece keeps telling me 'Hi, Nuggie!' every time she sees my belly.   It's utterly adorable.

Most interesting name was my cousin.   Through her entire pregnancy she referring to the baby as her Mother's maiden name and was not going to find out if it was a boy or girl.   We all assumed it was just the baby's 'pre-birth' name.   Nope.   Baby was born and christened with the maiden name.   She did the same thing with their second.   They really liked the names they chose and it's what the name the baby was going to have, boy or girl.

  • I've been calling it "baby3.0" but it might get a better nickname eventually.

  • Cutie Pie : we wanted gender neutral since we're team green this time!

  • Baby Chilly it's a play on our last name! Also it's one of my husbands nickname at work.

  • @chavezrd2 Same here!  My husband first named it Pablo randomly.   I was quickly like, yea no, I'm not referring to our baby as a name that sounds like a 30-year-old man.  Because apparently that's what I picture when I hear Pablo?  lol.
  • We've been using 'bean' bc were team green. Most interesting (and embarrassing) was my SIL who referred to her first as 'spawn'. Can't wait to tell the kid THAT when he's older...
  • Before we even started trying for our first, we started referring to our yet to be conceived children as "Tiny Our Last Name". Tiny 1 and Tiny 2 for short. We referred to DD as Tiny until we found out she was a girl then we started calling her by her name. With this one, for the first week or so we said Tiny 2, but now it's just Tiny, as well. I mean, DD has an actual name now, so it's not like there is confusion.

  • I worked in the bio research field in reproductive sciences and my humor can seem a bit off.  Before getting pregnant I said Tus short for fetus, I thought it was super funny.  I am now saying Baby Fet as when said allowed it sounds like baby feet and in my head I keep my psydo pun of fetus.  I use clinical terms a lot not be correct but out of habit which I've realized can sound a bit off putting, oh well....
  • But usually this one is referred to as 2.0.  It's how my original BMB refers to subsequent children.  My husband has even referred to this one as 2.0 lol.

  • We call him/her Wally-Ev. We plan to name him or her either Walter (nickname Wally) or Evelyn (nickname Ev). DH actually came up with it around week 8 when he asked me if "little Wally/Ev was causing trouble today" (e.g. making me feel sick).
  • We call ours Baby Wiggles since we've loved seeing it wiggle away in our last couple of ultrasounds. We started calling it that at 8 weeks and now we use Baby Wiggs for short.

  • My Fiance usually refers to it by whatever fruit size I let him know it is that week. He was trying to keep calling it a little blueberry one week and I had to keep saying "No, it's a raspberry now." Right now it's plum and as of tomorrow it will be Peach. We have a girl name picked out so if it ends up being a girl we'll be able to call her by name immediately. If it's a boy, we have a whole lot of thinking to do. No boy names have sounded good to us.

  • Our daughter was "Bean" right from the get go and so far this one is either "fetus" (Grey's fan!) or just "Baby" to not confuse our 2.5yo.  She loves to talk about "baby in mommy's tummy"!
  • I've been calling mine "The Bug" lately thanks to all the nausea, though DH isn't totally sold on it!  We'll be seeing the u/s tomorrow, so maybe that will spark some other ideas?

  • We call ours 'Bam Bam'. Our dog's name is Pebbles so we kept with the Flintstones theme for the baby. lol
  • We call ours "fat blueberry", because the first time I told my husband the baby's size in relation to a fruit it was a "wild blueberry."  That somehow turned into "fat blueberry" and stuck.

  • We mostly refer to it as Baby, but sometimes I call it Snicklefritz.  I'm not really sure where that came from, but it keeps me entertained.
  • Everyone is so cute...Meanwhile I call him/her "little leech" because well...that's how I feel lately. DH isn't too thrilled.
  • We usually just say baby but sometimes I say baby bean.

  • We're sure this baby is a boy so we've been calling it Bash which is short for his middle name Sebastian. Obviously it will change if we find out it's a girl. We will probably use a nickname based on personality like we did with DD. She moved constantly and made sure I felt all of her movements so we called her the dragon/dragon born.

  • We called our DD our little gummy bear since she looked like one at her first u/s. This one is just Baby #2 (so original! Lol). Once we know if it's a boy or girl, we have names picked out already and will just call it as such. We did the same with DD: we are very decisive with names and not very secretive!
  • @CoffeeBeanFiend91 our first born is Sebastian and we called him baby bash for a while! Surprisingly we call him Sebastian. Sometimes sebsquatch haha. One of his uncles gave him that one.
No nick name for this one in my belly yet.

Sweet pea. :) DH decided that is what we were calling the baby ever since it was the size of a sweet pea. I really haven't felt the urge to call it anything yet so sweet pea works for me. Lol.

  • Ours are Bean and Tater Tot.  Why?  I have no idea.  That's just what my brain came up with and they stuck.

Bean is the one on my left.  Tater Tot is on my right.  For now, anyway.  I'm sure they'll have to move into new positions when they can't lay side by side anymore.

  • We are super creative at our house and call them "the babies."
  • Another super creative household here. Baby-2 is our usual term.
  • This baby is Sprout. DD was Little One, DS1 was Nelo (short for new little one), and DS2 was Dumpling. I don't like naming babies until after they are born (though we do have a short list), so nicknames are extremely helpful.
    Mommy to N (3), J (2), and C (10 months). LO4 is due in mid-September.
  • We went with dumpling or little dumpling because we have this ongoing joke that our dog is obsessed with pan fried dumplings. Whenever we get them, my dog legit will do anything he can to try to steal one, so we always crack up when we say the word dumpling- the dog freaks out for them. I always called my god-daughter a nugget or muffin, so I figured why not try for something else. Still feels silly sometimes :) Once we know the sex we'll go with the name I think :)

  • We went with Sigmund. No rhyme or reason as to why. We just needed something to call him or her. It's definitely not going to be the baby's real name though!
