Classes at BRU

Hi Ladies,

I just noticed that my local Babies R Us hosts various free classes (babywearing, breastfeeding, baby care, prenatal yoga, etc). Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone was looking for some free classes.

If anyone has attended these previously, how good are they? I took an Intro to Breastfeeding class when I was pregnant with DD, but given it's been a few years I wouldn't mind attending something again, especially if it's free.

  • The ones near me are taught by a pediatrician so I'm expecting it to be really good. Doing newborn care and a breastfeeding class.

BTW, most medical schools do not really touch breastfeeding. Actually some Md's have given wrong or harmful information about BF'ing.

I prefer BF'ing to be taught by a certified LC. My Pedi's office has a full time one on staff. One of two in the greater Atlanta area. I got a good one.
    Thank God for Raid.

When I went to a BRU registry event, they said that the breastfeeding classes were taught by a certified LC. It's one of the reasons I really want to try the BRU classes. And, you know, free. Free is good.
  • Thank you OP for the link! I'll keep checking the schedule for the BRU by me, but it looks like the only one that's currently offered is titled, Mealtime! I might check it out anyway since it's free, but I do want to take the breastfeeding one.

  • Thanks op! I signed up for a BF class March 5th
  • @PugsandKisses thank you! I am signed up for it so I'll go because it's free :) There are others in my area so if the class is terrible I can sign up for something else with plenty of time to spare!
