I don't hate or love Grant. Due to a previous job I do automatically think of money like a state funded Grant but I wouldn't side eye it as a name. I do like Garrett which sounds a bit similar
Grant was one of my top choices but H didn't like it. I also like Graham. I know some people hate it because of graham crackers but I don't think of that.
Hmmm just looked up the meaning of Grant. It means "large" I don't choose names based on meaning but not loving that meaning. Thoughts??
Probably comes out of "grand(e)" which is french for large.. hm. It's sort of cool. Kind of like "Though she be but little, she is fierce" kind of thing.
It is one of my top boy name picks. Unfortunately my husband hates it, so I don't think I'll get to use it. Bonus points that it would be like naming my kid after Dr. Grant in Jurassic Park.
I love it! Grant Joseph is great We have a Grant Robert (Robert is husbands name)

My 5 year old son is Grant so clearly I'm a fan. When we named him it was around 200 on the SSA list. It's a little more popular now but not too much so. We've always gotten compliments on his name and I love that it stands alone (no NN) and ages well. I've seen the meaning as "tall," "grand," and "great." Ironically, my son is really small. Go figure!
Grant is a name I don't like the sound of. It's clipped and heavy to my ears. So while I know it's a solid choice: traditional, spelled correctly, historical, etc. I'm personally not a fan of it. But I know that's just my opinion and it's a decent name.
