Heathrow is nice once you get through security. And if you can get into the BA lounge you won't wanna leave. The food, the drinks, mmmmmmm. We flew in March and April with my then 13 month old and security with the baby was an absolute nightmare. Maybe they got the feedback lol
Well they do have those buttons now where you can rate your experience going through security, so maybe they're getting the hint! And I swear I must be going to the wrong BA lounge at Heathrow, because every time we go the only food we're offered is cold sandwiches or tomato soup. Where are you getting these drinks and amazing food? Is there like a secret area that I'm missing?! Lol.
@sproketsandgadgets or nachos: if you just have the car seat attached to the Vista, do you have to use the rumble seat as the second seat? Or can you still use the regular seat with the car seat attached? I clearly didn't think this through when I got it.
I ended up getting a city select, but from what I can see they only show the car seat in the upper position. Since the rumble seat is still smaller than the regular seat I would assume you have to use it in the lower position.
@DougalMcG@NachosAndPeaches@sprocketsngadgets I did push the button every time and I pushed green because I thought the security experience was so good! Ha! I have to say my heathrow experience this summer was much better than my previous heathrow experiences.
I remember the name of the other lounge: Plaza premium lounge. It was amazing, even had showers and beds and all that jazz. Better than the air canada one, even. To get in you have to buy a pass, but I get an airport angel membership with my credit card and get 6 passes for these lounges every year YAY.

It's funny how we've had different experiences, I flew threw Heathrow 4 times this summer and actually thought security was a breeze!!!! They take your pic with your boarding pass scan first and then the x ray line moved super quickly. Maybe I was lucky? I usually go to the air canada lounge or the other lounge that is not affiliated with a particular airline (forget the name now). Both were excellent. Haven't been to the BA one though as I fly air canada there.
Maybe it was the baby thing? Or maybe by this summer they improved because it was a hot mess when we were there. So that's really good to hear!
Also super random non thread relevant tip but if anybody is flying to London from a closer location, city London airport is so quick and easy. My cousins live there and I flew there from Italy (DH was "deployed" to Italy and I visited for a month. @AmadorRose this was an actual deployment how amazing is that?). My cousin had never heard of this airport and since then he recommends it to EVERYONE. It's so fast and right in town.
I "deployed" to South Korea last year but family was not allowed along. I would WAY prefer Italy! That's awesome!
@nachosandpeaches I assume my stroller is a 2013 because that's the year I got it, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm just going to buy the car seat and hope for the best. If it doesn't fit with the regular seat, ride-along board it is!
And yeah, there are two business lounges in terminal 5. We usually go to the one with the "kid's center" (ie three broken computers and a TV that never turns on) and it's not great. I wonder if you go to the one with the spa where you have to go up about 2 or 3 flights of escalators. If I find out that there have been free pastries there this whole time, I'm going to be pissed (
I need help making a decision...buying a bumbleride indie. Blue or black or grey?
@amaniupendowhich blue? If it's the aquamarine, I vote that - it's gorgeous!
That's the one! I love it but wonder if it's too loud/will I love it in 2 years?
I say go for it. It's sooooo pretty!
My only thought is to consider your weather - our stroller is grey on the bottom and constantly looks nasty because of the salt/slush on the sidewalks all winter.
