Re: PGAL Check-in 2/22
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Wah! Nothing for a long time. Next app't is March 16. Next ultrasound is not until March 30. I am hoping to feel movement before the next appointment.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Nausea is starting to subside, but I keep losing my voice. I'm wondering if it is reflux related. The lack of nausea is making me anxious even though I know it is perfectly normal for it to subside at this stage.
Questions? Any reflux solutions to suggest?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? No. I wish I had one, but I feel silly ordering one for just the few weeks between now and when I start to feel movement.

BFP #2: 07/31/2015 M/C 09/23/2015 (11.5 weeks)
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I have my 16 week appointment on Wednesday, at which point they'll schedule the anatomy scan. Exciting!!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Just positive vibes all around.
Questions?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? Yeah, we just got one last week. I wasn't able to find the heartbeat but my husband took the doppler and found it immediately. I guess he's already connected with our son.
Weeks: 16w2d
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): My next ultrasound is coming up in March and I cannot wait. I feel like its been forever since I've seen baby girl. I got used to getting an ultrasound at every appointment in the first trimester. Lol.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Constantly positive right now. I'm in a good mood the majority of the time, mood swings have calmed down a bit. I'm getting an appetite back and my cravings are mainly healthier foods so that has helped with my energy level tremendously.
Questions?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? Yes and it has helped SOOOO much with my anxiety. Anytime I start to get nervous I find her heartbeat and I'm at peace again.
Weeks: 15w2d
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Next appointment is March 7th with a new OB so I'm excited and nervous. I'll be 17w2d so a week or two after that appointment I should be getting my anatomy scan, I can't wait to see baby boy!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I couldn't be happier, renovated our room last weekend and vacation in about a month!
Questions? No.
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? Yes, I have the Sonoline B Doppler and I love it. I've been able to find baby's heartbeat within the matter of seconds since I was 8w4d. I don't get how people well into their second trimester can't find it, I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones lol.
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): we had our elective ultrasound this past weekend and found out we're having another boy! I'm mostly excited but there is a little twinge of disappointment that we're not having a little girl, but honestly that's really because I wanted to be able to buy pretty dresses
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Feeling positive right now, my symptoms have basically disappeared (which I'm able to attribute to 2nd tri) and I've been feeling some flutters which is reassuring. I think I'm starting to let myself get excited about this LO.
Questions? Nope
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler?
*possibly triggering*
I don't. When I was pregnant with DS there was a horribly sad late-term loss story that happened to a woman on a board a couple of months ahead of mine and it scared me off of them. The Doppler didn't do anything to cause the loss, it just played a role in the story and it really got into my head.
@Fremdschamen I've been an acid reflux sufferer my whole life. I'm sorry you have to deal with it now. The best thing I've found that works for me is aloe juice, but it's not recommended during pregnancy. Since I got pregnant I've been taking 150 mg of Zantac whenever symptoms flare up. It was OB recommended. Tums may help for you as well, although they've never worked for me. Some people recommend apple cider vinegar, but I highly recommend not doing that. It can cause more harm than good if you're truly experiencing acid reflux. My gastroenterologist (specialized is stomach diseases) never allows his patients to try that. Also, try raising the head of your bed up a few inches with wooden blocks or get a wedge pillow so you're head and chest is slightly elevated at night. That will help prevent the acid from coming up your throat. And eat small, frequent meals and finish the last meal of the day two hours before bedtime. There's also an acid reflux diet you can follow that will avoid any triggers. I hope this helps! And yes, a raspy voice and/or losing your voice is a sign of reflux. The acid can get down where your vocal chords are. I always have a raspy voice.
Weeks: 15
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): My next appointment is on March 1. It's just to listen to the heartbeat again, but I couldn't be more excited. I really need that reassurance that everything is OK.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My morning (night) sickness is back! Ugh... I thought it was supposed to be gone by now. It went away for two weeks and then came back with a vengeance. To be honest, I'm not sure if it's morning sickness, suddenly getting nervous about becoming a mother or my disease flaring up. I have a disease called gastroparesis, which can complicate pregnancy since I don't absorb nutrients and am basically slowly starving to death. But it went into remission in my first trimester. Now I think it may be coming back and that can cause vomiting as well. I'm a little worried about it because I gained a good 6 pounds in my first tri, which brought me back into a healthy weight range. But within the first week of my second, I lost a pound again. This is something I need to bring up with my OB.
Questions? Anyone else have a disease that complicates pregnancy? If so, how are you coping with it?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? Yes and I wish I had never bought it. All it's done is cause panic for me. Either I'm one of the idiots who can't find a heartbeat in the second trimester or the one I got is too cheap to pick up on it. I found the heartbeat once at 12 weeks and nothing since then. I can hear the baby moving around a lot though. Or at least the noises I think are the baby moving around. They've been getting louder and more frequent so I'm hoping it's the baby.
So glad you were able to find the heartbeat.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
My next appointment is for the 2nd NT blood draw on the 25th. I'm really hoping they will check the heartbeat really quickly for me.
My anatomy scan and next monthly appointment are both scheduled for March 17.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Keep wavering between feeling positive and feeling anxious. Really looking forward to feeling some reassuring movement.
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler?
No, but I wish I did at this point. Basically feeling the same as @Fremdschamen.....
And thank you! Me too. It was a huge relief after panicking these last few weeks.
What's next?: Apt with OB next Monday which will be nice to check on the baby. I know we are out of the first tri, but man I'm still nervous.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: DH wont talk anything baby with me until we know the gender (late next month). I dont think he knows that sometimes it helps me feel like its "real" by talking about names and plans and stuff. I know its #3 and we dont need much stuff, and we already have one boy and one girl, but man we can still plan some stuff before 20 weeks to make it feel real!
Questions?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? - No, I had one for the last pregnancy and I think it was good but it did cause some anxiety and I think gave some false positives too (aka I heard things I thought was the HB but wasn't really).
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Doctor appt on Wednesday and then the anatomy scan at around 22 weeks they said (ahhh so far away!). We had our elective ultrasound last Thursday and found out we're having a boy! It was a bit of a surprise since my husband had a few dreams about a baby girl and some other things that made us think girl. After starting to do some research on boys, I realized I've always had an easier time with my sister's boy (she has boy/girl 2 yo twins) and we already have a name picked out, so I'm starting to really feel connected to our little one
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Super sick today, actually stayed home from work for the first time this pregnancy.
I've been overly emotional and sensitive this past week and all the crying seems to have caused some sinus issues that are wrecking havoc on my nose/ears/throat/stomach
Questions?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? Yes, after our loss I felt like if we made it to 12 weeks I would want a doppler around until I could feel the baby move consistently. I watched a bunch of Youtube videos and tried to remain patient, and was able to find the heartbeat each time. It even helped me realize that the baby moved from the slight left of my belly button and super low, to higher up on my right side- which I felt the movement but wasn't sure until I found the heartbeat in a new spot.
Weeks: 17 !
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): we move this next week! So excited to nest and get this baby's nursery together!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Just feeling really good and happy.
Questions?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? Yep bought on on Valentine's Day! Love it and use it about once a day sometimes I have skipped. But usually once a day.
Weeks: 14
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Passing our loss milestone last week felt really good. I'm still nervous every day but I'm starting to feel more confident now that we've passed 13 weeks. Next appointment is March 3.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I finally got all the rest of my test results back. The ANA levels which were "borderline" before came back negative. Our kareotyping came back normal. Our HLADQ-alpha levels came back slightly concerning, but the concern here is the potential for intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), which the RE said was low anyway since DS was a healthy (and big) baby. The fact that this baby has been measuring ahead so far is also a really positive sign. The best news? I can stop the twice daily heparin injections in my stomach!
Questions?
Anyone googled anything stupid and then wanted to slap yourself? Today I googled "can tight pants squish your baby" because the waistband of my pants were digging into my stomach. I felt like an idiot. But at least I didn't ask it here, right? LOL
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler?
I do, and it's a godsend. Especially these past couple weeks, I have used it almost every single day.

Just keep swimming.
Also, I've definitely Googles stupid things. I sneezed and it hurt my lower abdomen so I looked up if a sneeze can cause a miscarriage. I felt stupid afterward.
Good morning, ladies!
Weeks: 16
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): next appointment is on the 29th, trying to remain calm until then, but it is hard.
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: This valley of less symptoms but not feeling the baby move yet is making my PGAL Brain worse than it has been for a while.
Questions? I could use some encouragement. I have a baby book, but I haven't been filling it out. I am afraid. Afraid things will go wrong and it will hurt so much to have that book there. But I also know I will regret not filling it out, so some encouragement would not go amiss.
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler
No. I do have a stethoscope and just this week it sounds like you can find the heartbeat, but I could be fooling myself.

And you and @JournoGrl23 are cracking me up!!!!
Weeks: 14w +6
What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): just had an appt today. Everything was good but it took the doctor longer than normal to find the heartbeat so I was momentarily terrified. Can't wait til we get to see baby again!
Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Feeling a little better energy wise but the hunger /eating constantly is annoying me. I haven't gotten my appetite back so nothing ever sounds good to eat. Got to keep feeding baby though!
Questions?
GTKY: Do you have a Doppler? I have one and I usually find it pretty quick so the Dr made me think I'm either fooling myself everytime or baby went on a new exploratory adventure during the appt. Finding the heartbeat soothes me me when I start to get paranoid about things, but it may just be a placebo.
