February Symptoms

Re: February Symptoms

  • I am so tired today. I have been having the hardest time sleeping lately. Side sleeping is the worst, when I do get comfortable then my mind is racing and I can't fall asleep. Then my hips start hurting and I start the whole thing over again. I'm so frustrated!

  • Anybody lactating yet? I'm 21 weeks today and got home from work and changed into a thin top with no bra and kept wondering why my shirt felt damp. Turns out I was able to express a little bit of something on both sides. I'm a FTM and I knew it would happen spontaneously at some point but I thought it was more of a late 3rd tri thing. Shit just got real man!
  • I just posted this in ransoms:

So this is weird. For several weeks (I'm 19 weeks now) I have been getting yellowish crust on my nipples and they have a calliflower texture to them. I looked online and most posts suggest it's colostrum leaking and drying, but they are never wet or sticky. And it's not waxy either. It literally seems like dried skin but yellowish... Anyone else? Sorry if this is gross.
  • @rlopezlavalle - that has been happening to me too. The cauliflower-like texture is because the yellow "goo" is getting stuck in the crevices right? It's something I've noticed to a lesser extent pre-pregnancy too, so I wasn't too concerned. Your explanation makes sense though!

    DD born 7.25.16 <3
  • yes, it seems to get caught in the crevices, and it's just weird! I've never noticed this before a couple weeks ago. I guess it's just another strange pregnancy thing! @sboston06
  • It's been a bad day. I've thrown up almost everything I have tried to eat, I hate these random sick days. Anyone else get them?
  • Is anybody else getting headaches so bad it feels like they're going to pass out? I'm literally sitting down and I still feel like I'm going to faint.
  • @victoria98I used to get headaches like that during 1st trimester. Diluted peppermint oil works wonders.
  • @victoria98 I was getting a lot of headaches and I found that usually I needed more water or I hadn't eaten enough. I also have a peppermint lavender headache balm that is a miracle.
  • Holy back spasms, Batman! Friday and Saturday, I ended up with the worst pain in my right boob/right shoulder blade. I get back spasms normally when not pregnant, so I knew what it was, but man did it hurt!
  • I've been having horrible anxiety throughout my entire pregnancy, I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow.
This is my first time being prego so idk if it's normal. I'm hoping it will get better after my ultra sound next week.
  • @CapitolCityMaMa did you have anxiety before being pregnant?
  • Hello ladies
  • Anyone experiencing the numbness in their hands and sometimes legs too? I never had this during my last 2 pregnancies. I am so miserable at night because I am constantly woken up at night bc of it.
  • @NurseT1980 I wouldn't say I've been experiencing numbness but when I'm trying to go to sleep at night my hands will start tingling like they aren't getting enough blood flow no matter what position they are in. It's weird
  • @NurseT1980 YES. I am going to be talking to be OB about it this week.So annoying.

Tell me more about this miracle balm!

I would talk to your doctor to be sure but I know that is pretty common. I think compression socks can help.
  • ashleighhughes yes, I did have some anxiety before but it just seems alot worse since I've been prego
  • @CapitolCityMaMa I have actually heard of that happening. Pre existing conditions worsening during pregnancy.. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it and I hope your ultrasound brings you peace! It's a nerve racking time while you're waiting!
  • @ashleighhughes Thank you so much :)  I love this website. It is so helpful to know I'm not the only one dealing with some of the issues and to get support from other strong mothers <3
  • I am feeling the worst pain in my right butt cheek. My doctor says that it is sciatic nerve and that "it will go away" but it hasn't gone away. Is anyone else dealing with this? I try to stand up and stretch every half an hour but I'm still limping whenever I have to walk down the hall to go to the bathroom.

  • @Kellyj103 yes!!!!!! Hahaha so happy to know I'm not alone! Lol. It totally feels like my tail bone is bruised or something. And it makes it hard to walk normally!
  • @ashleighhughes thank god it's not just me lol! What are you doing for relief?

  • @Kellyj103 I've not been doing anything for relief :( I know Tylenol is safe to take but I don't like taking anything while I'm preggo lol. Basically I'm just suffering through it! A chiropractor might be a good idea though- I've read that helps a lot of women. I find that rest helps me- if I'm really active all day it just gets worse and worse
  • Anybody feeling really low kicks? Kind of feels like baby is kicking my vagina.
  • @silvers626 the brand is called Badger and it's just called Headache relief or headache balm or something, I'm too lazy to get up and look haha. It's amaaaazing. They also have a muscle tension relief balm that's to die for.

@Kellyj103 I have had a lot of sciatic pain, there's not a lot you can do but I do find doing some cat/cow (yoga pose) to be helpful.
  • @Shelby00519 yes!!! For the past hour I've been feeling her moving around like crazy in there and sometimes it makes me jump cause it feels like she's really low and actually kicking me in the vagina haha. I'm in a sitting position right now- which is where I'm feeling her the most.
  • @Kellyj103 @ashleighhughes
I have been dealing with lots of back issues. My SI joint is out (I had minor issues with this before pregnancy but now it's a zillion times worse). I frequently get "stuck" because the joint becomes loose or detached and it's excruciating pain. Before I got pregnant I used to do some stretches that helped prevent it, so naturally I've been stretching like crazy. It was getting worse and worse... I talked to a physio therapist and she told me that stretching will make it worse. Because of the hormones that loosen your body during pregnancy, the SI joint is too loose. So when I stretch, I'm loosening it even more. Opps. She recommended getting a supportive pregnancy belt thing. She said I will find relief when my hips are pulled back together. I know this isn't the same thing you guys have but look into the belts. It might help!

I also had the feeling  of a bruised tailbone for a few days. Apparently it's a common symptom. Mine went away on its own. So weird.

Anyways, read about the different kind of belts. Even just wrapping the belt from my housecoat around my hips has helped so much.
  • @sayerhart do you use an si loc belt? My physical therapist had me get one for very similar pain and it's been very helpful in stabilizing

  • @Lindsayleigh1989 that's the one I'm going to get! I've been looking at a few online just haven't decided on one yet. I hope it helps. I feel like a rickety old witch.

Oh I feel you! I love mine but I have had to ease myself into wearing it I still can't full time but it is definitely helping! Also I've found water aerobics to be amazing for the pain it gets everything moving but in a low impact way and it's high intensity so I still get a good workout and baths are my best friend! Glad I'm not alone in my si belt wearing haha

  • I'm pretty sure I saw this towards the beginning of the month but it's new for me.. I think the term I saw is "lightning nips" or something like that? I'm about ready to cut my right boob off.
  • @stellaluna14 @sayerhart thank you so much for the advice! I'm going to start doing the cat/cow pose and I ordered a maternity belt. My pregnancy brain accidentally signed myself up for Amazon prime so I'm going to put it to good use!

  • @NurseT1980 @ashleighhughes @randypluskate I had this more toward the end of my first pregnancy, but I've had it for several weeks already this pregnancy. It can have something to do with the extra blood flow. I typically like to sleep with my wrists bent under my chin, so I actually have to sleep with wristbands on to immobilize my wrists. If you're reading or holding your phone while in bed - keeping your hand elevated for an extended period of time - I've found this to lead to tingling as well. As far as tingling in the legs/feet, I'd go with either a maternity support belt or compression socks.

Amazon Prime is AMAZING when you have a baby. Good move, pregnancy brain.

My boobs are back at it.  They hurt SO bad.  This is different then when they hurt in the beginning though.  It feels like my milk ducts are clogged or something, its the same tender feeling I would get when I was breastfeeding.  Not cool at all :(  I never had this happen with either of my two during pregnancy so its weirding me out.
  • @Kellyj103 I love my amazon prime, I use it all the time. And they came out with amazon now right when I broke my ankle and I was stuck on the couch for like a month, it was a miracle.
