Wait seeing stars is a sign of labor? I usually just assume I'm dehydrated...
This happened to me over the weekend for the first time. I was in the shower and suddenly i was seeing fireworks. I had read some people posting about it. Luckily, I have an appointment today so I can ask my OB but it was weird and last about 3-4 minutes. I just stood in the shower like, "wtf is happening?"!

Hmm Iv seen simething like little tinny colorful fireflies /fireworks but only like twice for a few seconds. I thought it was just a transition of lighting or something. I'll have to ask the nurse today when I go in.
Grow, babies, Grow! Don't come any earlier than totally necessary!! I'm another one looking at the end of April being due 4/27, which I am totally ok with because DD has a dance competition 4 days before my due date. I'd rather go miserably pregnant than worry about a newborn being around all those people. Plus, DS's soccer season isn't over til the end of April, and DH is coaching.

Seeing stars could also mean that your BP is low. This is common in the shower/ bath tub - if your BP already runs low, then you get into a warm shower or rub, your blood vessels dilate further because of the warmth, blood pressure drops further and then you get all dizzy and seeing stars - some even faint. If this ever happens again, Try sitting down, or laying down, or at least squatting close to the floor to improve venous return, increase BP and send more blood to the brain (the lower you are to the ground, the less the heart needs to fight gravity to send blood to the brain).

My BP is typically on the lower side of normal. I am definitely going to mention it to my OB today. My mom has a digital bp cuff, maybe I should borrow it from her for the remainder of the pg.
I see the perinatologist today after my ultrasound, but baby boy will either be here Wednesday or next Tuesday, whenever they decide is best for him to come. Today marks 2 weeks being ruptured.

Good luck today!! Hope it's all good news and he's doing great in there!
3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3) - #3 due March 30!
Apparently I was having some bad Braxton hicks because baby is fine. They're currently running a heart curve and he seems healthy. They register movements but I don't feel them well. Perhaps I just got used to crazy strong movements from him all the time lol. The midwife was like "oh he has a really nice size, he's probably around 2200 g" so he's growing perfectly fine. Sorry for scaring you guys I am so not ready for this baby to come now lol

He may have moved into a different position and maybe the feeling aren't as strong. Glad everything is ok!

I'm glad to hear he stayed put til now! Will be thinking of you this week. I am sure everything will go smoothly!

Glad everything is okay! LO needs to stay in a little while longer!
So question for the STMs: how far ahead of actually going into labor did LO drop? I felt movement like crazy last night down on my pubic bone, DH even felt it. I have never felt her there before. I also feel like my bump dropped. Everything else seems normal and I know dropping can happen a bit before, but just curious.

@JulienneNicole I'm 33 weeks and a FTM, too. My bump dropped late last week for me and LO has been sitting so low it's gotten painful. Hopefully, she'll just stay put for a little while longer. I can handle the back/hip pain as long as she keeps growing like she's supposed to!
@JulienneNicole My DD1 didn't drop until I was in labor since I was induced. She was stubborn. Still is. This one, however, has been low from the get go. I already feel like she's "dropped", due to comments from others and just how she feels. I feel her hands tickling me down around my pubic bone, while all her bigger movements (bum, feet, etc) are up around my rib cage. My pelvis ACHES (I'm asking my midwife about it at my appt today actually because seriously...). This is also probably way TMI (really really sorry...), but every time I go to the bathroom, regardless of whether I have to go #2 I always have to wipe extra because I feel like her head is already putting that extra pressure there. This is all reasoning of why I don't think she'll wait until after her due date. I don't have any reason to believe she'll come WEEKS before, but I'd say in the week or so leading up to delivery she'll come. I was late with DD1 so she followed DH's side of the family (he and all three of his siblings were late), so maybe this one will follow my side of the family (my mom was early with all of us, 3+ weeks with my older brother, 1.5 weeks early with me, 2 weeks early with my younger brother).
Just a reminder to everyone (myself included, because I'll be right there with everybody in the "get this baby out" boat) that first time moms go into labor on their own on average at 41w1d and second times moms are 40w3d on average. obviously there's plenty of various of the norm, but just try not to get too discouraged if you're hoping to avoid being induced and you're over that 40w mark. I eventually told my OB last time to stop saying that she didn't think I'd make my next appointment (from 36w on) because it's seriously the most discouraging thing in the universe when you trudge in for appointments week after week after being told you won't make it another week.
That being said, I can't wait to see all these precious babies faces anytime after full term, or when medically necessary!

Thank you ladies! I had some protein in my urine so they took some blood to check for pre eclampsia and told me they'd call before midnight if there was anything. Fingers crossed its nothing

There's some moms in my other group there were a few moms who even after having their babies still ended up going over the due date.
That happened to my mom. She had me first on my due date. My second sister came two weeks before her due date and my third sister came two weeks after haha.
So glad everyone's doing so well! I'm just hoping baby decides to turn at some point. I'm 32+5 and baby is still breech. I think he/she just has bad directional skills like dad lol. My EDD is 4/13, but they've scheduled a C Section for 4/12 in the event baby doesn't turn. Turn baby, turn!!

huh?
Wow that sentence looks terrible. I'm going to use the excuse of lack of sleep and a night full of debilitating leg cramps for my brain not functioning properly.
I meant to say some STMs in my other group still went past their due date.

Yup, my mom went into labor on my due date born at 40+1, was induced at 41+3 (house fire at 41 weeks) with daughter #2 who was then still a forceps baby, and then #3 came right on her due date. DD came at 38+5, but I have no idea how much of that is due to her nutritional problems/IUGR, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up for a March baby (due 4/2)
I've been looking the past couple of days to see if any preemies were born and thankfully haven't seen any. My girlfriend who was also due in April gave birth last week, 7 weeks early. Thankfully he's a little fighter and doing great!
Has anyone else already started to drop, i'm currently 32w 6d and last week dropped a decent amount. The pressure that i'm feeling is almost unbearable at times and i know it's only only going to get worse. I know we're supposed to start dropping but this early?
I'm a FTM but for some reason have a strong feeling that my dr miscalculated my due date and I will be going a little sooner. EDD is 4/12 but according to my last missed period I originally had a due date on 4/7.

Your cycle may have just been a little bit longer or you may have ovulates later that the standard. Most people don't follow the 28 day cycle and ovulate on day 14 stereotype that they use to calculate EDD. Ultrasounds in the first trimester are the most reliable way to measure when you conceived if you aren't 100% positive on when you ovulated. My original EDD based on LMP is 4/10, but my adjusted EDD from my dating ultrasound is 4/18. I have a gut feeling about the week of April 4th... With DS I had a gut feeling about July 7th-9th. I went into labor the 7th and he was born the 9th. Funny how things work out like that sometimes.
Really 41 or more weeks is average for first time? Wow! Stupid Hollywood faking us out again! I won't be allowed to go over my due date though... Between GD and this kid still in breech.
Stupid question...how do you know you've dropped? What is the earliest or average time frame? I just feel so heavy all the time and feel extremely uncomfortable while standing. Baby loves to hang out at the bottom/pelvic area.
See thing about having the baby up to 8 weeks early are the chance increases of them needing to stay in the NICU. I was thinking to myself how unfortunate that would be because I'm only given 8 weeks of paid maternity so if any of those weeks are spent in NICU that takes away from my time to bond with my baby at home.
I've heard that dating ultrasounds are more accurate, but my EDD changed three times because of early US's... Calculated from period my first EDD was March 16th, second EDD (first US) was late April, third EDD (second US) was April 17th, and the last one they said March 26th. I'm apparently still measuring a week ahead from the last EDD, which correlates better with my first EDD (and would actually put me at 36w) but I was super done with changing that around lol.
I was induced at 41w+2 with Dd. I am expecting to go past this time around. I do have a stronger feeling that I am going to go early this time around. I have had a couple dreams where Dd arrives on 3/30. However I am mentally preparing to go late so I don't go insane.
From experience I can say it sucks to go past you edd when people who are due a few weeks after you are going ahead of you. I envy the first person on here who has their baby because it makes waiting for mine that much more difficult.

They're still not 100% accurate. It also depends on LO's position, the angle when they measure, how good the person is with the ultrasound, and so many other factors. They're trying to measure something super tiny... It's hard. My adjust EDD is accurate because I KNOW the day that LO was conceived. It would have been impossible to happen before then. It also depends on the doctor. My doctor with DS never adjust my EDD but he measure 4 days behind my EDD at my dating ultrasound. She said it wasn't large enough of a difference for her to change anything. I'm really curious to see what my new hospital is going to do since they weren't the ones who did any of my ultrasounds. I may be switching back to weekend ticker change. In general, I do an average between my two EDDs.
From what I've read, on average, moms give birth +/- 3 days from their EDD as long as it's kinda accurate. FTMs are more likely to go over their EDD.
When I had the first ultrasound they gave me the EDD 4/12, I used an ovulation kit to conceive and my period is very regular. DD has measured large at each ultrasound minus the first one, so I guess it's just a waiting game but my gut from the beginning has felt i'll go a little earlier than the dr said.
@Knottie2891384 I was carrying pretty high, my stomach was right under my boobs and DD would kick me in the ribs all the time. Now her movements have moved down a bit. My bump is now noticeably lower than before, I have a lot of pressure in my pelvis which is pretty uncomfortable. My breathing is also a little better being she's not sitting so high and my DH has also commented that DD is lower than she has been (does this make sense? lol) Another sign of dropping which is also quite annoying and painful is I know have hemorrhoids

Ovulation kits aren't actually 100% accurate. I would get positive results for actually ovulating and gearing up to ovulate. They also only give you an idea of when you ovulated, but not an exact day.
Ultrasounds can can also be completely wrong. The first trimester one is the most accurate, but there are plenty of factors that could make LO look like they are measuring bigger or smaller than your EDD. The ultrasound tech could even measure you twice in one day and probably not get the exact same EDD both times.
Re: No babies yet?!
ETA: apparently that was just a momentary thing as they tried to find the original birth thread...

@elasticheart13 glad LO is ok!
@blonde151188 hopefully little man will be able to cook until next Tuesday!
