Beta March 1 / TWW Feb IUI

Hi everyone!

Starting our 3rd official TWW (IUI w/ letrozole) on Friday, 2/19. U/S today showed 2 maturing follies on my right (18mm and 14mm). Lining was a little thin, so I'm starting estrogen today as well - and as the nurse said, I "will continue w/ the estrogen up to 9 weeks through your pregnancy"... love the optimism!! It's not "if", it's "WHEN!" :smile:This U/S appointment was also the first my husband was able to attend... he's also attending the IUI Friday, so I feel the love with this one!

This will most likely be our last IUI before IVF. I'm terrified of IVF, so praying hard this one works. I'm cutting all alcohol (had an occasional glass of wine during the the last two TWWs... nothing crazy) and coffee. Not sure if this will help, but wanting to try something different this time around. Definition of crazy... you know that old saying.

Beta scheduled for 3/4, but I'm going to be out of state... might have to go to a lab during vacation. FUN.

Any Beta buddies / TWWers that want to join? I'd love the company.

Re: Beta March 1 / TWW Feb IUI

  • Hi!

I'm not going through IUI, but am having FET on Monday 22nd..so am very close to your beta (3/7)

Anywho, I just wanted to wish you GL on your IUI on Friday. Yay for feeling the love, and all the 'whens' and not 'ifs'.

    You've got this!

  • GL with your IUI on Friday!! My RE also has us take progesterone well into the pregnancy. I'm HOPING to have to deal with those wretched suppositories for awhile if it means I'm pregnant!

I used to also be terrified of IVF... now I'm not so much. With higher odds, I wish we could go straight to it. We would if it wasn't so expensive!

  • We're on the same schedule!! My sixth and last IUI will be this Friday also. Triggering tomorrow night. Good luck to everyone and hope we get a lot of bfps on here.
  • Well just had my 6th and final iui today numbers were great for the swimmers. Made my appt for my ivf consult just in case this cycle does not work. I will be testing March 3 if I don't get AF on the 2nd. Good luck everyone I hope we all get BFP
  • @tvh1982 Thank you! GL on your FET!

@wifeinraleigh28 i'd deal with almost anything if it meant I was pregnant! While I'm scared of IVF, the higher odds do make me excited at the same time.

@Drove2u cycle buddies!! GL on your IUI on Friday. Triggering tonight as well (my least fav part). FX that we can share BFPs too!!

@ultratomato that's great!! Hope this one is "the one"! Was thinking about IVF consult as well, but I think we are going to take a month off if this IUI doesn't work.

Wishing everyone the best this cycle! Hope this TWW goes by fast!

  • @Drove2u and @babylonghorn16 I'm gonna be joining you guys for the same cycle! I trigger tonight for IUI on Friday so beta will be 3/4.

@ultratomato we have also started to get the ball rolling for IVF. I have already spoke to the financial department and we have a consult with our RE next week to discuss all the details. Although I hope it doesn't come to IVF, I have to be prepared.

This is our last attempt at IUI before heading to IVF. GL to everyone and lets get some BFPs!!

@erica0901 another beta buddy!! Welcome and GL!

@ultratomato I don't know much about IVF either. This TWW will be full of education!

Has anyone had experience with going to a LabCorp office for their beta? Since we are vacationing in Seattle on 3/4, I have to go to a LabCorp office and get my blood work done there. A little nervous about that. Bad timing for our vacation, but at least it'll keep my mind off things.

  • I'm supposed to test 3/1 but if I'm not pregnant I'll probably get AF way before then. Last cycle I started on 8dpo. They don't give me progesterone. Nor have they taken one drop of blood for anything. Just gave me the meds and do one US and one IUI per cycle. I feel like I'm wasting my time and money. Also my blood sugar has been crazy on all these hormones and my regular endocrinologist takes her sweet time getting back to me with insulin adjustments. If I do happen to get pregnant it might not last because of that.

  • So this morning I was in the bathroom and when I wiped myself I saw some bright red blood in my CM is this normal after the iui. I know it's to early for implantation.
  • @ultratomato - When was your IUI? My RE told me I might have a little bleeding from the procedure and I had a tiny bit the very next day. I think it's from when they open your cervix to do the IUI, and your tissue is really sensitive during that time in your cycle. So I think a little blood is normal.

    anyone ever use fertility rocks?
  • Goodluck Everyone!!

IUI #2 on Sat 2/20 so will be testing same week as you @babylonghorn16

@ultratomato my RE also says slight bleeding can happen and my printouts from last IUI said same thing including cramping etc.

    @erica0901 @Drove2ugood luck on Friday!

  • @ultratomato agree with everyone else - a little bleeding should be normal. I have NOT heard of fertility rocks. What are they? In regard to your RE, that seems odd to me that they aren't putting you on progesterone - especially since your last cycle started so early! I would have a chat and see what his/her reasoning is behind that one. Im sorry you're feeling neglected! Hopefully this IUI will be it anyway!

So I just dropped off spermies at the office and now i'm working/waiting in Starbucks. More waiting than working... but it's nice that I can pretty much work from anywhere. Makes this whole thing a lot more convenient! 3rd and final IUI in ONE HOUR. Woo! A lot riding on this one.

@starlight811 GL to you tomorrow! A lot of beta buddies this time around!

  • So what's everyone doing over this TWW? We are going to a winery this weekend for an ice sculpture event. I will not be drinking but I will be enjoying rob company of the DH and friends. Now to keep myself busy the rest of the time
  • My parents are coming next weekend so that will be fun. Besides that, this week, just work and my exercise classes every night.
  • @Drove2u good numbers! In fact, a girl on another wall just got her BFP with 40 million and 40% motility. You never know!

@erica0901 GL!! We had sex 1 day before to try to boost our odds. Hope it works!!

IUI #3 complete! Lining thickened up with the estrogen, so I am happy about that! Only one follie on my right... the other one didn't mature, I guess. Was a little disappointed there. But post wash numbers were 45 million with 99% motility! All in all, I think it's a good cycle.

@ultratomato TWW plans - relax this weekend and book hotels for our upcoming west coast road trip! We leave on March 2nd! Oh, we are also going to our friend's flamenco show next weekend, so that should be fun! I'm going to try to learn how to knit too. Maybe make a scarf or something. Anything to keep myself preoccupied!

  • Hi ladies. I'll be testing the 6th but don't have high hopes. Had my ultrasound today and only had 1 mature follie at 18mm. The past 3 cycles, I've had between 3-4 mature ones. I cut out pop and most of my coffee, ate healthier, and started acupuncture. Can't help feeling like it's all been for nothing. • @lin&say RE believes one follice that was already mature at follicle scan/day of trigger could ovulate that day or yesterday so the other follicle would have reached the same mature size estimating for todays IUI. So really I was planning to time two inseminations one by BD second by IUI. They don't do bloodwork at my clinic to check if i already ovulated.

  • So my friend just called me... guess what? She's pregnant... and they "weren't even trying!!!"

They haven't even been married for a year. I feel sick. I know I shouldn't feel like this, but wtf. This is actually her 2nd time to get pregnant... she had a miscarriage a few months ago, so I'm happy for her. I just feel so defeated at the same time. Seems like the shitty part of the probability always falls on me. I just don't get it.

I usually don't symptom spot but this cycle has been a bit different than the others. I'm 5dpIUI and when I got out of the shower this afternoon, I had some terrible cramps. They went away after a couple of hours. Several hours after the cramps I had a large amount of white creamy discharge in my underwear. Never had that happen before. So far no itching involved but I do have a history of chronic yeast infections. Ugh. I really hope that's not what this is.

  • @arbasham I just recently had a yeast infection and I think it was due to the medication I was on. Especially since the progesterone suppositories make you extra wet and your always wearing a pad. This may be the same for you as well. The medication definitely messes with your body.
  • Yes, the medication is the worst! Was toying with the idea of moving my beta out until after vacation, but I can't deal with taking the medication if I don't have to... especially on vacation!

I'm taking estrogen and progesterone this time around (was just taking progesterone in the past). I'm uncomfortably bloated to the point where my pants are cutting off circulation! Not feeling too sexy over here. Also sore breasts... kind of nervous bc I had sore boobs last time, and AF showed. Anyone else feeling the same?

@babylonghorn16 - Could you maybe just take a HPT while you're on vacation instead of going in for beta? My RE (as well as many) don't do betas for IUIs unless you get a + on HPT anyway. They say to stop the progesterone if you get a - on HPT on 14dpiui. If your HPT is positive then you continue your progesterone until you get home and have your beta then... Also, the symptoms you're describing are from your meds, not AF coming. I have the same ones!

Hope you all are managing your TWW okay! The 5 day countdown to test day has officially begun for me...
