For STMs (and so on!), at what week did you deliver baby #1? Just curious how close to your due date it was! I know I can look up stats and, but just curious to hear from real people.
It's funny I had this convo with mil yesterday. With her first, dh's sis, she went into labor the day after her dd. With DH she went into labor the day she was due. I was surprised that her two children where on time. Does that ever really happen?
DD1 was born at 28 weeks, DD2 at 40+4. Technically DD2 wasn't my first, but she was my first trial of labor, so I'm not sure but I think statistically she'd be treated like a first.
38+4. I was induced because I was at 3.5cm and was gbs +. My dr didn't want to risk me going on my own and not being able to get the antibiotics. Probably a good thing because labor was only 5 1/2 hours start to finish. If I'd gone on my own, I wouldn't have gone in right away, plus a 45 minute drive to the hospital, I probably wouldn't have had enough time for 2 bags of antibiotics.
I'm a FTM but my mom had three kids and here's how it went: first baby was late by one day (can you believe that?!) second baby was born one day early. third was two weeks late. The midwives (he was a home birth) told her after her water broke she had 15 minutes to get the baby out before they took her to the hospital. One of the midwives the night before my little brother came told my mom to untie any knots in the house- even on shoes or clothes- to help unblock energy and get the baby moving. It worked!
36 + 2. Contractions started around midnight and were about 20 minutes apart, and I went to the hospital the next day. Doctor broke my water, but it was less than 4 hours from triage to baby. Very, very fast.
37 weeks exactly. It went really fast too. My water broke around 4 AM, contractions started slowly around 9 AM, by 1 pm I was nearing being fully dilated when they finally realized baby was breech, so emergency C section by 3. Very quick process!
1st 40w3d induction for gestational hypertension which was a fast infuction..6 hours from start to finish
2nd 39w4d...contrax started with bloody show at 3am...went in for my 39 week apt at 9 am sent directly to the hospital b/c I was 5 cm and contrax every 2-3 min, he was born 3 hours later...it was awesome..i hope it is like this one this time!
Not sure if I count, but my son was 34wks by emergency CS due to my pre-e and HELLP.
My mom said that my older sister was born at 38wks, I was 42 wks (yo, it was comfy in there and I didn't want to leave!), and my younger sister was 39wks so I guess it really varies. Ironically, it kind of mirrors our personalities because my older sister is always on the move, I am more an object at rest that likes to stay at rest, and my younger sister is somewhere in the middle.
This baby is going to be evicted at 38wks by RCS due to my history and her size.
