    WAYDTGKTFU: bd, temp, opk

R/R/CS: my chart is crazy this month! A few days ago I had a drop intemp thinking it was O and got crosshairs! Then three high temps and when I entered that I finally had a +OPK, the crosshairs went away! Then this morning was a huge drop in temp. Don't know what's going on now

    GTKY: Best travel story!
I don't really have a best travel story but I am at a cabin right now with great friends and it has been an a amazing weekend! Full of fun and great food. We even found water balloons and all the girls threw them from the balcony at the guys while they were playing beer pong! Not ready to go back home yet

R/R/CS: I haven't worked in 7 weeks because I was doing physical therapy for a work-related back injury and today is my first day back. I'm a nurse, and I haven't actually had my own patients since July when the injury occurred (I was on light duty until I started PT). I'm so nervous. I keep reminding myself that I've been doing this for three years and it will all come back to me, but I know time management is going to be a little tough for a few weeks and I'm not looking forward to being constantly behind. Blah.

GTKY: Hmm...I'm not sure that I've had anything particularly interesting happen while traveling. I encountered the actor Dominic West having a beer by himself in a pub in a teeny tiny (population 500) village in Ireland. We exchanged smiles but I was too surprised to say anything. It was weird. My DH and I are flying out next week to spend two weeks in Cambodia and Vietnam. I'll work on creating some good travel story experiences there :)

  • brady0517 Sorry your chart is giving you so much trouble. Just curious, when did you start your OPKs? You could have O'd earlier and just had another LH surge. FX for your stats to get themselves figured out.

zrain Don't be nervous. I'm sure you'll do great. it'll come back to you in no time.

MrsDramaK i'm sorry that your cycle is being weird this time around. I often had 30 day cycles, and didn't O until CD 19 or 20. This is actually one of the first cycles that my O date seems to make any sense.

R/R/CS: So for once my chart is actually looking really good. Positive OPK yesterday, nice temperature drop this morning. Only thing is yesterday, FF gave me today as my O day which makes perfect sense with everything today yet when I entered my data, FF took it away. Guess it doesn't like that I didn't put in text book high, soft, and open. Things may change later today.

    GTKY: Best travel story!
It's not really a story, but I think my coolest travel experience was when I went to China. We went to Hong Kong for a week, then took a 30hr train ride through Shanghai to Beijing. So we saw Victoria Peak, the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. One of the coolest experiences of my life.

R/R/CS:  I think I may have ovulated yesterday ..which would be earlier than norm for me but I guess not out of the realm of possibilities. I really just hate opks lol.  CBAD peak positive, yesterday am- wondfo's who I normally trust more were clear negatives both times taking yesterday but I got a temp rise this morning.  We will continue to HIO but I think our timing stinks if I really did O yesterday.

GTKY: Best travel story!   I don't get to travel much  for my college graduation (which I realize now writing this was almost 12 years ago- that's crazy) I went to Punta Cana with a bunch of my girlfriends. We had a blast before entering into the real world

@nwegman7878 I don't even track cp anymore. It seems to me that it's position changes from before ipee to after I pee!

WAYDTGKTFU: waiting for fertile window next weekend

R/R/CS: sorry I've been not posting. Ive been kind off depressed about cycle 6, which is dumb Because I never really had a sir the first tree cycles after my period returned. (First was annovulatory, next two had 9 day luteal phases) I've decided to snap myself out of it!!

GTKY: Best travel story! Once in college my friend and I took a road trip from dc to key West for new years eve with nothing but a Hyundai accent, several gallons of water, two boxes of Kashi cereal and 500 dollars. How did we sleep? By folding down the back seats and lying with our heads on the seat and our get in the trunk. Looking back I still think what we're we thinking?? But it was a blast.

    CD: 8

WAYDTGKTFU: benched until my follow-up appt, then all the things.

R/R/CS: I'm concerned that I might O before the doctor unbenches me. I usually O around CD 25-30, which wouldn't be a problem, but last cycle FF gave me CHs at CD 16. I thought they were wrong because I didn't see a clear shift, but then my LP is 12 days, and AF showed up right on time according to FF. All of that to say that I really don't want to O early again this cycle!

GTKY: I haven't traveled nearly as much as I would like, but I'll have to say the time I was in northern France. We spent a day at Normandy, and standing on the cliff and then on the beach was almost surreal. It's so beautiful there, in such stark contrast to the battle that was fought there. It's an experience I'll never forget.

WAYDTGKFU: Everything + BD 2 times a day

R/R/CS Well I had my temp spike today, but I also drank last night, so I'm not positive I can trust it. I had some pretty sharp cramp-like o-pains and FF gave me crosshairs on CD17 last month, so I'm apt to believe it. But I also mouth breathe and I have been sleeping horribly, so I'm not gonna stop BDing until it's been up for another 3 days.

GTKY: I met Brad Pitt in the beach in Santa Monica in 1994 when I was 14 on vacation with my family. It was during Legends of the Fall days and he was scraggly,so my mom didn't know who he was and didn't want a 30 year guy who looked like a bum talking to her 14 year old daughter. I didn't even realize who he was- he just walked up to me and asked how the water was. Later on, we saw some girls running up to get his autograph and someone filled us in.

R/R/CS: my body has decided that my first medicated cycle is the perfect time to illustrate "you're regular until you're not" which was making me question if AF was really here on Friday because I need to start Clomid on CD3

GTKY: Best travel story! We went on a cruise for our honeymoon. One of the places we stopped at was in Greenland. It was awesome just being there. The cruise ship had an out door hot tub so we went hot tubbing surrounded by icebergs as the ship left Greenland.

WAYDTGKTFU: BBT (with my brand spankin' new Mabis this cycle!), BD probably every other day closer to O. CM tracking and other such things, pre-seed, etc.

GTKY: Too many stories to list!! I have been so fortunate to travel to many places and have some cool experiences in my life so far. My top faves would be my college orchestra trip to Austria, my week long solo service trip to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation last summer, meeting Jason Segel on a work trip, Hawaii to visit a friend in college, and all my awesome memories from attending summer camp in Vermont as a teen and then working for many years at a summer camp in Michigan. *edit: DUH also my amazing Disney World honeymoon*

    GTKY:
When I was in college, I went on a spring trip with students from my major to Prague. One of our professors is Czech, so we had a built in tour guide.
When we arrived, they told us that we had to find our way to our professor's parent's bar & pub for free dinner and drinks. They gave us clues, but it wasn't an easy task. Who lets 25ish college students loose in a foreign country to get on the subway, multiple busses, etc. to find a hole in the wall bar in the Czech Republic countryside?!?!  ...but we did end up finding it!
On the flight home, we would have been routed to North Carolina (were supposed to be landing @ JFK), but the plane didn't have enough fuel. We landed at JFK in the middle of a huge ice storm (we were watching the ice accumulate on the wings as we decended). When we got into the airport, it was totally deserted. No hotels available in NY, so had to stay a ways away on NJ. Still no flights the next day, so the college sent a charter bus to pick us up and drive back.

WAYDTGKTFU: all the usual things, plus adding EPO (but for now, just waiting for AF to leave)

R/R/CS: AF showed up earlier than expected this cycle! Ugghh! Although I'm not exactly pleased about that, since I've found that finding the silver lining is the only way for me to get through this process sanely, I'll say that I am happy that I'm dealing with AF now rather than on the beach in a few days when I'm on vacation in Turks and Caicos! I mean, bathroom trips in a bathing suit can be hard enough without also having your period! LOL. And, now I can freely dream about my first (and second...) pina colada....yummmm. :)

GTKY: Best travel story! Oooh, this is a tough one. I guess I'll have to go with the time DH (then just my BF) and I traveled to Peru and decided to be adventurous by spending the night with an indigenous family - they lived on an island about an hour from the mainland and it was like traveling back in time! They prepared us a home cooked meal - we ate the meal in their kitchen, which was kind of like a hut. Then we slept in a a tree house (basically) and had a bucket for a bathroom! It was absolutely freezing so we had to snuggle all night. The next morning, the family gave us a parting gift of handmade winter hats. Super fun and unique experience. I don't know what's better - that, or the time I unexpectedly ended up on stage with Digital Underground in a Vegas penthouse for my bachelorette party! Totally different but also super memorable!

  • @LadyMillil what a neat thing to get to do!  What makes you question when you started?
I have LP bleeding every cycle - not enough to fill a tampon, but a panty liner isn't good enough to prevent bloody accidents. It can be difficult to determine the difference between "normal" bleeding and full red flow, so I rely on a combination of temps, AF symptoms and change in the bleeding to determine CD1. I had full red flow Friday (needed a tampon) and my temp and symptoms lined up for AF, but I only had blood when I wiped yesterday, and just minimal spotting so far today. I looked over my old charts and this has happened once before.

@gardeniagirlknits - sorry for the crappy temping!  :(  That was me last cycle, and I'm really hoping this cycle goes better.  Anyway, it's frustrating, so *hugs*.  Also, totally agree with what you told @MrsDramaK about OPKs.    So, for Alaska, we went with family and did basically a land tour with a private tour guide.  So she had a van and drove us around Alaska for two weeks.  It was great!  Feel free to PM me if you want more detailed info on the trip, or even the tour company's name-- I would highly recommend them.  Here's my top 3 though:
    1. Kennicott (and specifically the place we stayed and hiking out onto Root Glacier while we were there)
    2. Denali  - A) Denali ATV - really fun riding, great guides, and BEAUTIFUL scenery.  B ) Denali National Park - it's a trying day... LONG hours on a bus, but you do see a lot of beautiful sights and wildlife.  And we were lucky enough to get to see Denali.  We got out and had lunch and hiked at the Ranger station we stopped at for the day, and it was wonderful.
    3. Talkeetna - It was a wonderful little Alaska town.  The rest of the group (except for my two year old niece, the tour guide, and I) went on a bush plane ride to land on a glacier which they would all highly recommend to you.  I didn't go because I get airsick and knew I was going to get to walk on a glacier later. Instead, I strapped my niece on my back and walked around Talkeetna.  It's adorable, and we met their Mayor, Stubbs.  Anyway, it was quaint, but great souvenir shopping and just a good, relaxing time!

R/R/CS: Weird low grade fever is gone! We also started HIO ED yesterday and will step up to 2-a-days Tuesday I think. H is down with making sure there's zero second-guessing timing this month since his count is good. Last month's wasn't bad at -3, -2, and O... but that wasn't awesome for us either as far as our TTC history goes. It's like he's more determined this go around and offended it didn't work last cycle. I'm going to soak up all this gung-ho-ness of his now before it gets old for both of us in a few months.

GTKY: My best travel memories aren't the interesting ones. It's the road trips with H where we get to have all the conversations we don't normally have where we learn new things about each other despite being together 13 years.
  • nwegman7878 : I started using OPKs on CD9, had not used them before. I didn't realize I had posted my calendar instead of chart!
  • Tw loss mentioned
@GhanimaAtrei My H is the same way about getting offended that it didn't work last cycle! We got KU-d with our loss right away, so he's pretty confident in his "swimmers". He was also telling me something about getting a "good shot" in on Friday. I didn't know this was a thing, but he says that if he stops right before ejaculating that he gets more ammunition, so to speak. I have no idea if this is true, but he swears by it.

@mrsdramak I'm also using the CBE OPK and all I've gotten are flashing smileys since I started using on Cd 15. WONDFOS have not turned positive yet either. Now that I think I've ovulated, I'm looking for the line to lighten back up, but that hasn't happened either. We're just going to keep HIO until I get the 3rd temp rise day.

@AL_TwinCities Fx for acupuncture working again for you guys. I just had my 6th treatment and I feel like it's not working to balance my hormones at all. I've been having hormone- related migraines during my high estrogen days and sleep issues since my MC. Though if I get KU-d this cycle I will believe it! I feel like I pay too much money per treatment to not be getting results (I go to a super yuppie fertility acupuncture clinic). Do you think the herbs work well for you and would/did you take them during pregnancy?
  • edited February 2016
@chloe97 I didn't realize that. I'll have to ask H about it. I do know for a fact that if your H travels out of town for a bit, when he returns his sperm count in his first ejaculate triples. It's insurance for if you were unfaithful while he was away. I think I read it in Satoshi Kanasawa's Why Beautiful People Have More Daughters or David M. Buss' The Dangerous Passion. Both are evolutionary psychologists and would've referenced the study name. I was trying to find the actual study but the first hit was an article about having sex twice in an hour triples male fertility, so you know I HAVE to jet to read that! (ETA: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3340440/Having-sex-twice-hour-make-men-fertile.html )

But moral of the story is short business trips just before the fertile window are good!
  • @chloe97 I didn't take herbs while pregnant - my acupuncturist didn't prescribe any then. I'm on different mixtures depending on what is going on - one mixture to help me regulate after my loss, a different one during AF to help everything clean out, and I will likely be on a different one entirely when gearing up to O. I am also eating differently to follow her recommendations and am trying to follow other lifestyle recommendations like light exercise and getting good sleep. Every week we re-evaluate everything based on how I'm feeling and where I am in my cycle, and make tweaks accordingly.

WAYDTGKTFU:  Mainly temping and doing the dirty dirty

R/R/CS: So as I've said before, this is my first cycle temping.. and I accidentally got up and showered before I remembered to take my temperature this morning. Bummer.  Now I took it, big spike, but should I track it or will that totally mess everything up, am I better off skipping?

    GTKY: Best travel story!

So I traveled out west with a friend of mine *at the time* and we went to a glorified petting zoo.  We had been looking for a certain animal.  We happened to find a llama or something wandering around. Knowing they spit on people, she dared me to pet it, taking the dare I tried.. but it seemed pretty pissed about my approach.. so I backed out with no shame.  She.. having to prove her abilities were better than mine.. attempted to pet it.  Now I've already pissed it off, so this was a ballsy move.  Of course it spit on her straight away.  So FUNNY! OMG I died for a split second before I realized how angry my friend was.. she was fuming.. I could barely stop laughing.. but I did as soon as I realized that anger was directed at me.  She was so mad that he spit on her.. she was going to have to throw away her brand new hoody because the spit smelled so bad blah blah.. and all of it was my fault.  I never even once dared her back to try to pet it, she did that all on her own because I couldn't do it.. She did not talk to me for hours. That was the day I realized she did not have what it takes to be my best friend.  It should have been the highlight of our trip.. but instead it was the turning point as she was moody the rest of the week.

R/R/CS: Sad that the 50mg clomid didn't get me to ovulate this cycle. Doc said to make an appointment after 30 days if I didn't ovulate or get AF so that's what I'm going to do. FF got cross hairs once but the very next temp it said oops, never mind. That was a little heart breaking. :(

GTKY: I don't really have a particularly good travel story. When I was 19 I went and lived in Hove, England for 6 weeks with my friend. We went to see Paris, France while I was there. That was the best vacation I ever took, though it was complicated.

@LoulieFace Yikes! Why are people so weird and illogical?
I ask my self this more and more every day.  I mean she even got mad at me because when we got to our hotel & checked in, I wanted to take my bags inside before we went to dinner.. you know so my computer and everything wasn't in the car... took just one minute to dump my suitcase in the room.. but she kept rolling her eyes, arguing and being huffy.  I could go on and on.

    Some people are crazy!
