Just found our we're having a girl and we're pretty set on Margot as a first name. Due to DH's family customs, the middle name needs to start with a J, K or R. I'm more than open to suggestions but am curious as to people's thoughts.

  • Margot Juliette....beautiful name!!
  • Margot is on my girl short-list too :) love that name! Kate is my favourite of those middle names but Juliette seems to flow better.
  • Margot is also on our list. We'll go with Joan as it's a family name, but I love both Juliet and Rose.

  • I'm a Margot (middle name Jordan) and I love the way Margot followed with a J sounds- Juilette is very pretty!
  • Margot Katherine
I'm a Katherine  nn Kate or katie.
Kate is just not a stand alone name. It's not even arguable, there's no historical information to back it up.  It's better for the child to have choices.

  • I actually like them all but omg please do not name your child after a Star Wars character. Save that for your cat or something.

  • So.. while I like Juliet the best out of all the names, i feel it doesn't really fit with Margot. Juliet is so flamboyant and colourful while Margot is more austere and dignified. So I voted Rose.

You can't go wrong with any of them though. Margot is a lovely name.

In general I agree with this but I think you get a heap more leeway with a middle name. Margot Kate DOES sound good, imo. And Kate's been used as a nickname for at least 500 years so she's hardly getting crazy here. A middle name doesn't need to be flexible in the same way a first name does.

Actually I'm gonna vote Rae. One I like something a little fun in the middle and Rae is actually a pretty common middle name so it's not like using Vadar or Stormtrooper so it's not in your face obvious IMO.

Edit posted too soon  Nerdy vibes coming out maybe.  But looking at Margot Rae I don't get an eye roll vibe.
