GTKY: Bucket List

@ramoseecology Great idea! You inspired me.

Ladies, what's on your bucket list?

A few things from mine:
1. Hike the Colorado Trail with my husband and kids. (My parents did all 511 miles in 29 days last year--it was incredible!)

2. Travel back to Dublin, where I studied abroad, and continue traveling around the world.

3. Get a bunch of tattoos.

4. Become a college professor.

5. Run a marathon (though I should probably start with a 5k).

  • Go on safari in africa

    hike Machu piccu

go on an around the world cruise

    obviously I love traveling
  • @Curls919 I would love to go on a safari, too!

@Dressagedarling you are so brave! We ended up snorkeling with some little barracuda on our honeymoon and it was freaky. I can't imagine swimming with sharks.
  • 1. Be a mommy!
    2. Ride on one of those sleds with all the huskies in the snow
    3. Ride the zambonie at a LA Kings game
    4. Buy a tiny beach bungalow and a tiny cabin in the mountains so we have vacations all year round
    5. Go on a cooking competition show
    6. Open a shop where I refurbish vintage flea market finds
    7. Buy a chanel bag in Paris
    8. Become a Yoga instructor
    9. Travel all over Europe with my husband
    10. Visit Walt Disney World with my whole family - grandparents, siblings, nieces, nephews, in laws

I prolly have more but, I can't think of any other ones right now!
  • Oh! I love this GTKY! Mine's long, here's a few:

1.) Hiking the Inca Trail up to Machu Picchu (maybe not the whole thing - I know my limits).
2.) Living overseas (again). I lived in St. Petersburg, Russia for part of college, but I want to really live overseas. Fortunately hubby wants to move to New Zealand at some point - I'm totally down for it.
3.) Do one of those Viking River cruises (PBS has sold me on them). But expensive!
4.) Visit Santorini, Greece. Heck, revise that to say, spend an entire summer in Greece. <3
5.) Buy a camper and road trip the entire country (whichever one we happen to be living in).
  • 1. I'd love to travel more--since I haven't been to Europe yet that's a top destination but a lot of places sound great including some camping in the U.S. (Arches/Zion national parks).

    2. Buy a house and enjoy making it my own with small projects, gardening, etc.

    3. Learn how to make great Indian and Ethiopian food at home. And a good Vietnamese noodle salad. And by good I mean close to the restaurant memories I have.

    4. Be successful at gardening. Abundant flowers, herbs and veggies but also well managed. My vegetable harvests have been dismal. Why won't you grow?!

    5. Learn how to crochet (I knit). Learn how to sew on a sewing machine. I'd love to make cute stuff like this

  • 1. Go hang gliding (which I have done finally).
    2. Go skydiving.
    3. Ride the top 10 roller coasters in the U.S. and then the world.
    4. Travel all around the world and visit as many countries as possible.
    5. Go scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef.
    6. Own a barn and become a nonprofit organization that teaches children with Down syndrome and mental disorders (like depression and anxiety) how to ride.

Unfortunately the last one will probably never happen. But it's a dream of mine.
  • @ramoseecology Your list is pretty awesome.

I learned to knit as a kid, and I taught myself to crochet a couple of years ago. Now, I actually prefer crochet. I made some dishcloths, but my first big project was a blanket for DS.
  • Those are some pretty awesome bucket lists! I've never put much thought into it. I think my main one would be to get to a point in life, where we are done having kids, and just be genuinely happy.
  • @Curls919 I have done one and two on your list and I highly recommend...

I was working in international education the last 6 years so my list is going to be mostly travel related..

    1. Go sky diving. I was going to do it when I turned 30 but it didn't happen

    2. Visit Greece, Hawaii, Australia, Alaska those are bucket list trips for me and places I haven't been yet.

    3. Go to Bali or the Maldives and stay in one of those amazing huts over the water

    4. Buy or build a house (not as much as a bucket list item as a necessity). I guess paying the house off is the bucket list item

    5. Take SO with me to London and Rome where I lived. I want to show him the sights.

I'm sure there are more but that's all I have for now!

  • My bucket list would have to consist of
    1. Travel to Italy to see where my great grandparents came from.
    2. Swim with dolphins
    3. Vacation to Hawaii
    4. Be debt free!!
    5. I would love to build my own house one day and have all the things I wanted in a house. Love the house I'm in now but I would definitely like to change a few things.
