On January 13th they estimated mine to be 6lbs 11oz. One month later he was born at 8lbs 15oz which was on track for the half a pound a week expected gain. All of my ultrasounds were done by a maternal fetal medicine specialist so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the accuracy of the estimate.
Back to update. At my last appointment at 39w5d, she was estimated at the upper 6 lb range just by feel. She was born at 40w5d at 7 lb 2 oz, so pretty close
With my twins, I had a 35 week ultrasound and both were est to be 5.11. They came 6 days later and were 5.10 & 5.13 so pretty accurate.
With this baby, my 36 week ultrasound est her to be 7.12. I had her at 38+4 and she weighed 8.10 so I think it was fairly accurate for me both times. Definitely would have had a 9+ pounder had I made it full term.
Last appt this week at 38.2 doc said baby's weight is between 7-9 pounds which is a bit scary for me since both my boys were under 6 pounds. It does feel heavier and my stomach is bigger this time around, then again i've never made it past 37 weeks with my boys so getting anxious about a big baby
At 37 weeks, she was estimated to be 7lbs 8oz. With my first, at 40ish week, he measured around a little less than 7lbs but was born 8lbs 11oz a week later, so these estimates are just that, estimates.
Update: at 39 weeks she was born 7lbs even though she measured at 7lbs 8oz at 37 weeks. So the measurements were wrong with both of my babies but in different directions.
i do wonder if her height contributed to the error as she is 20.25inches even which is long for her weight.
I had an ultrasound at 36w3d and LO was 6#5oz. Tech said he was in the 43% percentile and expected to put on a half pound or so a week until his arrival.
Update: Bryce was born at 39+1 and weighed 7lbs even. Only off by about half a pound or so on the smaller side.
I never had a weight estimate that late in pregnancy, although the midwife and I had a feeling he was going to be on the larger side.
At my u/s at 29 weeks he was estimated to be 4lbs. Caleb was born at 38w 3d weighing 8lbs 13oz so it matched up pretty good to the average of baby gaining 1/2lb per week in the 3rd trimester.
