Sore and burning sensation on belly on sneezing

Hi,

I am in my 26th week. I have been having round ligament pain sometimes on sneezing and coughing. However, today when I sneezed suddenly, I felt sharp pain next to my belly button on left side. The pain went away in few seconds but that part seems sore and burning which is slowly reducing but is still there. Has anyone experienced this ? Since I have anterior placenta, I am just concerned if anything can damage on the interior of my belly skin.

    If you having no other symptoms, I'd just ask your doctor about it at your next appointment. But by all means, give them a call if you're concerned.

    I've had very similar pains near my belly button as well. They linger a bit but then have gone away. Definitely call about it if you are concerned.

    Usually the abdominal muscles get very strained by this point in pregnancy and sometimes begin to separate in the middle-- it happened to me last pregnancy and it felt similar to what you're describing. If that's what it is, it's really not a big deal and can be fixed with a postpartum binder and certain exercises after birth. Like PP said though, if you're really worried and want to rule out a placenta issue, definitely call your doctor.

    Thank you all! Now the soreness and burning has completely gone after good nights sleep. There are no other symptoms but will surely call up the nurse and inform. Thank you all once again  :)

    I started having pain long ago with sneezes. I asked my doctor about it and she said it was perfectly normal because of all that's going on inside our bellies.

    Last night I sneezed while lying flat on my back, and it was the most painful sneeze of my life! I think it's because normally my abs contract when I sneeze, but my big belly kept me from really contracting, so all the pressure from the sneeze shot into my ribs/upper abdomen. It hurt SO bad. Doesn't sound like what you're experiencing, but just another way that pregnant sneezes can be terrible.
