If there's already a post for this, please tell me where I can find it! I couldn't find anything in the search.

What is everyone thinking about going with/what have you picked for baby furniture?

I was dead set on Pottery Barn until I walked into my local kids/baby store and was a. not greeted/helped and b. saw they had next to none of their actual furniture on display. I don't know how I feel about shelling out thousands of dollars on a crib/dresser/chair I can't see in person first.

DH and I went to Buy Buy Baby and were really impressed by their selection. I'd be really interested in hearing if anyone has had a bad experience with their furniture, as that's what we're leaning towards right now. I know they carry all different brands, so specific brand feedback would be great. We're looking to purchase a crib and dresser only. We've already got a chair picked out and bookshelf will come from a local store. Thanks!

I have pottery barn furniture in my 2 ur old sons room now and have to tell you I'm not impressed for what we paid. It's all dark wood and has so many marks which happens with time but I feel like it's crazy for only having it two years. The changing table is completely worn on the edges of th side where we bend to change him and the top of the dresser has lots of dings. I plan to fix it up a bit with a furniture marker but I have two other sets in my house from bobs that are much cheaper and lasted much better!

I also agree that the store in general is pretty rude, we always have trouble there getting anyone to help us without begging. In fact once it was so bad we complained corporately bc we were there to drop a couple thousand dollars and they're just plain disgustingly rude.

I'm not sure if you have an outlet by you or not but we've had a lot of luck there getting bedding (his new big boy bedding is currently in the real store and we found it there for much less). They also have miscellaneous furniture.

@blond1230 thank you so much! your feedback really helps. I can't stand dealing with rude people especially with such a big purchase. My SIL did tell me about the outlet stuff, so I'll definitely check it out.

Pottery Barn is beautiful, but too expensive for me. All new cribs have to meet safety standards, so I can't justify spending a ton on it. I registered for the DaVinci Kalani Crib. It was recommended in a few different places, is convertible if we want to, and isn't too expensive. Right now, I plan to buy a dresser, anchor it to the wall, and use that as a changing table. I'm hoping to find one on Craigslist, at a garage sale, or Goodwill or somewhere. I don't care if the furniture is all matchy-matchy. I do really want a glider, but they seem so expensive! Anyone have recommendations for those?

We only have our crib that we got from Pottery Barn. I found an amazing deal on a crib from there and ended up only paying $300 for a normally $700 crib. I bought it online, so no experience with their customer service.

Dresser will be from Ikea and glider will just be whatever I can get a good deal on. I've been cruising craigslist for both.

@cait5413 I use online garage sale sites through facebook and have seen a few rockers lately. You can always add an ISO (in search of) post and people will see what you want. I love it!

For DD we got a crib off of craigslist. It has a few nicks here and there but came with the mattress, mattress protector, two sets of sheets (that we gave to my parents for when she stays the night because it wasn't to our taste), and a mobile (which we also gave to my parents). All of that we got for $100.

Her dresser/changing table we got from ikea for $150. We got our glider on clearance at Costco. It was only like $200 and we absolutely love it. It swivels, reclines, and rocks.

For this baby well just get another dresser and a toddler bed for DD and the baby will use her crib.

Honestly, we're going completely IKEA. Their cribs have actually been rated very well and are super cheap. We don't have the money for a several hundred dollar crib.

I had the exact opposite experience with Pottery Barn. Very helpful and great quality furniture. We have a light dove gray crib and dresser and both still look brand new. The mattress came with a huge gash in the box. I had a new one before I even had shipped back the damaged one. I'm planning on ordering a new dresser from them when we move my son out of the nursery.

We're probably going with Ikea or similar inexpensive crib. I looked through the baby bargains book awhile ago and have seen a lot of good reviews on affordable cribs. I don't know what we'll want in a few years so I am not wanting anything too expensive that I may not want to convert later.

We got DD's furniture from Buy Buy Baby. The brand is Munire. We had a great experience & found the associates there very helpful. We also got a great deal since you can use coupons too!

We purchased our crib from BBB. They were super helpful and I was able to use a 20% coupon on the purchase. If you are going to go with them, order your furniture early!! They typically give a lead time of 120 days on special orders (anything not in stock at the store). Our crib ended up being back ordered with another month delay and we weren't informed until I called to check on my order. After talking with the manager, they offered me a similar model that was in stock and matched the price for the original crib.

We have all Munire stuff. We bought it at a local furniture chain but you can get it elsewhere. We love it and it's held up for over 2 years so far like new (except for the teeth marks on the crib...)

My dad updated my old crib so it would be compliant with modern safety standards. My folks got it at JC Penney.

We just got DS a bed from IKEA, and I always hear good things about their stuff. I'm also a big fan of Crate and Barrel furniture. They have a sister company, Land of Nod, that makes kids' furniture and decor.

We are using my daughter's crib and dresser this time around it is still in wonderful condition and is over 6 years old. We purchased it from babies r us. I think the brand is baby cache.

Has anyone ordered furniture from wayfair? I found a pretty cheap bedroom set for baby, and the reviews are pretty good. But still, it seems too good to be true for the price

@Stephanie7693 I have purchased dining room chairs from wayfair and have been very pleased with the quality and durability. I have also been looking at the crib sets and am contemplating purchasing from them.

Get a copy of Baby Bargains. They review every furniture manufacturer in the cribs section and give info about other nursery furniture within those reviews.

You're welcome. I love it--it's super detailed and has made me aware of different details I didn't even think to consider. It really helped me narrow down to a few crib brands when there are SO many to choose from.
