Hi I am 10 weeks pregnant with my second baby and i am wanting to announce it on facebook for my friends and family that dont know yet. How should i do it?
They make really cute Big Brother/Big Sister onesies. I ended up making my own iron-on transfer on my computer and made a onesie for DD (she's 10 months). It worked really great! Better than anything I could have bought pre-made.
I used Photoshop and created a cute "First comes Love, Then comes marriage, then comes baby!" anouncement. I used a picture of us from when we first started dating (our first dance at highschool a winter formal) then used our wedding photo. We were suppose to hold out until my first Ultrasound 02/17 but we were both impatient and family was starting to spread it around (first time grandparents) so we just kept that picture blank and put question marks. Then below anounced the EDD below!!!
we'll be taking family photos later this month and we'll get a few in this shirt. We aren't big on sharing on facebook...but we use tiny beans to share pictures of my son with family and friends...i plan on creating a new journal for this baby and including pregnancy photos as well.
We need to get new family pictures done anyways (seriously, the last 'nice' pic we have of us is from a wedding 6 months ago), so we may do a shot or two with a "big sister" sign or something.
We're dog lovers, our two dogs are our babies (for now, but coming form my background, that may never change lol). I plan to just line up our two dog bones and a pacifier, snap a pic, and post it on FB. No caption or explanation....and just let people figure it out
For friends/family we'll be sending them a message on Sunday that says: Roses are red, violets are blue Coming in September is Baby (our last name) #2!!
A week later I'll be ready for facebook to know. Bought my 1 year old a "Best big brother ever" t-shirt, going to post something like "The role doesn't start until September, but Emmett's feeling awfully confident!"
I don't know if I'm announcing on Facebook...I'm weird huh? I want to tell people over the phone/in person and everyone else will just sort of...figure it out? lol idk.
@mom2adoodleI'm with you on wanting to announce in person/over the phone. We did that with DD and had a lot of fun with it. We had cute little ideas to use for revealing to people as we saw them and used a different one each time. I never really did an announcement on FB. My sister got married while I was pregnant so when her pics of me (with an obvious bump) got posted on FB I thought people would figure it out but no one really did. It wasn't until I was about 7 months pregnant and was dressed up to go to a different wedding that my DH snapped a photo of me and posted on FB that his "family" was looking good before people really caught on. Until then, people figured it out as they saw me in person. It was kind of funny, actually... We made plans with a friend to go golfing when I was about 6 months pregnant. We hadn't seen him in a while so when he showed up it was quite a shock, haha.
We are thinking of wrapping a photo of the ultrasound with a caption saying "You're going to be a big sister/brother" for our kids to each open on Valentines Day. We want to videotape their reactions! My 4yr old daughter has been putting stuffed animals under her shirt a lot lately and is going to be so excited to know Mommy has a real baby in her belly.
Cute ideas everyone! We are doing a group of pictures. Our oldest dd will have a sign that says "been there", DS will have a sign that says "done that" and youngest DD wil have a sign that says "it's my turn to be a big sister!" Then the next pic will be the u/s pic and a caption saying about the last lucky charm arriving in Sept 2016. We'll distribute on St Pattys day (also our anniversary)... Well, if I can wait that long
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
I found some super cute "stork" feathers on etsy and planning on sending them to family and close friends. I'm not sure about announcing on fb. Hubby wants to do a picture of little shoes and a September calendar to add to the feathers. No doubt one of his 12 nieces will post something on fb and that's fine with me as long as family finds out first.
After we tell all family and close friends, we will eventually post something on Facebook. I think we're just going to say that I'm pregnant and due in September. Anyone else going simple?
We're going to wait until after our 12 weeks US to "go public" (although most of our friends/family) already know. My husband and I met at University of Colorado, so we're going to take a picture wearing our CU shirts, holding this!!
I just got married 5 months ago so we asked our wedding photographer to come over last weekend and do a mini shoot with us. I bought t-shirts for me, DH, and the dog. My shirt said "eating for two" DH's shirt said "She's eating for two, I'm drinking for 3" and the dog's shirt said "Only Child expiring September 2016". My DH and I did a shoot with him drinking a couple beers and me shoving my face with food. Then we did some of the dog surrounded by the ultrasound pics. I should get the pics back this week. When we are ready to announce we will send the pics to family/close friends and let them call us as they figure it out. Then a week or so later we will post on FB. Currently we are making the parents tour. We are telling them each in their own individual way.

That's what I did when I FB announced with my first. My in person announcements were also lowkey, just saying "I'm pregnant."
I was planning on doing something and incorporating DD in announcing this one. But as it gets closer to the time I plan to announce, I'm thinking of going simple again. All the important people have been told. I don't feel the need to do something special for acquaintances and people I went to high school with 14 years ago.
@camichael84 Exactly. I think it's also because we went through infertility and I despised pregnancy announcements. I still do. That and I don't think people really care haha.

Yep. With our first we just posted a casual pic of me and my husband and said we were excited to be expecting. I had a visible bump and that was fun. This time I don't know if we'll even worry about the photo. Just say we're expecting baby #2 in September. We've been a lot more free with telling people in person early this time, so the FB announcement feels like it really is just for a) the heck of it because "it's what you do" and b) people who we see infrequently and don't want to call. Haha.
I'm ten weeks Monday. I posted the announcements I made yesterday. We are going to mail some to family out of state and who lives hours away. We will give them to our mothers in person! It's my mom's first grandchild (I'm an only child). She has been spoiling my cousin's kids for years and now she can finally spoil her own grand baby.
I looked up Easter themed announcements since we will be sharing our news in March with our moms first!
I purchased all the items from Michaels and under $25 that can make up to 10, but I only made 6. Inside it is green moss, I cut a paper mache egg and painted in gold. Inside the egg is a little yellow chickadee and I glued personalized printed calligraphy messages (i.e. …your going to be a grandmother…baby 'w' due September 2016).
We are traveling to see my mother on Good Friday for the weekend! I'll be almost 15 weeks then! Can't wait to share this with her. We MC and have had our own tough journey to get here.
I think we'll do a simple u/s photo on the announcement. I don't want to spend too much on that, because I am looking forward to a maternity shoot (around 7-8 months) and infant shoot.
