At my 26-week appointment this week, my doctor gave me paperwork for my glucose test, and told me to go at 28 weeks on the dot. I told her I'd have to go to the lab on a Saturday to avoid missing work (they want me fasting, so I have to do it in the morning) and she said to go March 5, when I'll be 28 weeks and 4 days. She said that's because the later in pregnancy you are, the more likely GD is to show up if you have it.
Now I'm looking at my schedule, and if I do it that day I'll have to bring DS along with me (NOT fun) because my wife will be out of town. We are going on vacation the weekend before, so I'm thinking of just going ahead and doing it this weekend. I'll be 26 weeks and 4 days. Before I call my doctor and pretty much inform her of this plan, I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the doctor having them wait until 28+ weeks to do testing. Is this more the norm than I think it is?
Re: Late Glucose testing?
ETA: My Dr gave me an order to do it that week, no sooner.
