@Shelby00519 love Preston! I think it would only be preppy if the person with the name was preppy .. So go for it!! Honestly, it just reminds me of Preston Burke from Greys Anatomy. Who I liked. So as I said before, go for it!! ETA: auto correct makes me look like an idiot
@dolewhipper Layla is our girl name! I'm not sure it will get a ton of song connection. But I could be wrong. I went to school with a Rhiannon and I think I was the only kid that associated her name with Fleetwood Mac!
DH is completely stuck on names for both a boy or girl, and I just can't decide if I am on board. He has said no to every other name I suggested.
Our DD is Madelyn Sue (nn Maddy), or DS is Owen Christopher (middles names have all been family names so far).
DH wants Zander (spelled that way) for a boy, middle name probably James after my uncle. For a girl he wants Emelia (spelled that way), with middle name Irene (after my grandmother).
So Zander James L or Emelia Irene L.
Thoughts?
I think Emilia is the Spanish version of Emily... so I personally would spell it with an i in the middle but it's very pretty either way and I love honoring someone for a middle name.
Zander is not really my style and I'm not sure how it goes with Madelyn and Owen (Zander seems trendy to me and Madelyn and Owen have a more mature, traditional feel to me). I love the name James though...
What are your favorites??
I like Emelia, and I actually like the suggestion of spelling it Emilia.
For boys, my favorites are Silas, Max, Spencer, Connor. DH just hates anything too ordinary, he goes a little overboard trying to be creative I think.
@simplymizzj I'm really into name meanings. I come from a Hawaiian family and have a long Hawaiian name, so all my life people asked me the meaning of mine and all my family member's names. I didn't follow the Hawaiian tradition in naming my kids, but I still put a lot of emphasis on the meaning.
We are currently trying to narrow Down some names. We are team green and this is harder than expected! Girls we are thinking either Sylvie Jae ( or lane) or Cecilia Lane. My moms middle name is Elaine and we would like to somehow name baby after her. Her and my husbands names start with J so that's where Jae comes from. Boy names seem to be much harder! Middle name is forsure mark or Marcus after my dad. First name options.. Reid, Declan, and Archer. These are the only names we can kind of agree on. Thoughts on any of these or other suggestions? We are clearly open to others
ETA- do you prefer the spelling lane or layne for a girl?
@Katekay3 I love Sylvie and Cecilia, of the options I kind of like Cecilia Jae. For the boys names I am partial to Reid! Archer paired with the middle name options sounds a little weird to me on first impression, like they are too similar maybe.
@stellaluna14 I actually completely agree with you:) I don't love mark or Marcus with archer but Middle name isn't negotiable. I like Cecilia Jae but worried about people calling her Cj, although she will basically be called cece from the beginning. Thanks so much for the input!
@Katekay3 I don't think people would call her Cj. Cecilia is cute!
We're pretty sold on our boy name, but girl names are hard (we're team green)! I finally narrowed down the ones I like, but the problem now is that I love them all equally. H will have to step in and help. So far the girl names we both like are Elena, Gianna, and Emilia.

love Cecilia Lane (no y)
Archer Marcus Reid Marcus
Marcellus is a variant of Marcus/Mark so maybe: Archer Marcellus Reid Marcellus
Would you consider Marc as a first name: Marcellus Reid Marcellus Archer or Marcus Archer Marcus Reid
Loving Cecila more and more after this! I have considered Marcus for a first name. While I don't love it we could consider it. I LOVE Reid, but my husband doesn't seem sold. Maybe once he sees me in labor he will let me have whatever I want? Wishful thinking!
@RachelT1234 I adore all those names. Although I am partial to Gianna, but that would be because it's my sister's name lol I always figured we would call her Gigi. When she was little we called her Gia, we tried Gigi randomly but now at almost 19 literally everyone calls her G lol
So... we just found out we're having a girl, so we wanted opinions on middle names for both Sophie and Sawyer! Last name is Dean, which I think makes it even harder!! Thanks ladies

Sophie Marie Sophie Rose Sophie Rosalie Sophie Corinne Sophie Francesca Sophie Noelle
Are there any family names you'd want to honor?
Do you have any sort of "out there" names? Reason being is that Sophie I think is the #1 girls name in the US (or top trending) so maybe instead of a "filler" middle name go with something a bit daring: Sophie Marigold Sophie Azalea Sophie Winter
No suggestions for Sawyer as I only see it as a boy name.
What do you all think of Kynsleigh? More popular spelling is Kinsley.. We cannot come up with a middle name. I loved Kynsleigh Blake but hubby hates it. I do love Kynsleigh Ryan Kynsleigh Ava

Prefer the popular spelling and Ava as a middle name. I actually love it reversed Ava Kinsley...

Aw I like the middle name Blake I think it's cute! Kynsleigh is quite different. I honestly think Kinsley looks prettier. Maybe it doesn't matter too much how a name *looks* but I do think of that stuff. I do LOVE the name Ava, though. I would have chosen that name for a girl, but once DH and I started going back and forth it didn't make the cut.

Hmmm I'm partial to the middle name "Lee" or "Leigh" I think it fits nicely with most names. Sawyer Lee Dean sounds so cute to me Other options: (I think a short simple MN would sound best) Mae Bay Grace Brooke June Rae Rose
I love this thread! I am so stuck on a girls name, I don't like very common names and was hoping or something with a K because I have a daughter McKenna whom we call Kenna and a son, Kohen. Any ideas on what would sound good with those? TIA!!
I like a few K names for girls. My daughter has a K name. One I think is really cute is Kiska. I think it's Russian but it's not common.
Kiska is not a Russian name. In Russian it means kitty cat, like what you would say to call a cat over to you. It also means pussy in the same ways it does in English.

What do you ladies think of Reign ? I know that's Kourtney Kardashians newest babys name and back then I just thought it was weird but I've been hearing it lately not as a name but like how a king reigns and it's really growing on me. I'm still kind of iffy just because I don't want people thinking I got it from Kourtney K and because my initial thought was that it was weird. Thoughts?

I need help for a middle name....DH and I are pretty much set on Jolene for a girl, but need help with a middle name. My 6 y/o DD suggested Marie, and I told her that her middle name was already Marie. She said, "Well yeah but yours is too and the baby is coming from your belly....". Good point kid. Would it be weird if both kids had the same middle name? My mom and my SIL also have the same middle name as us, so it's kind of a family thing by now I guess.

I feel like zero rules apply to middle names... have at it... other suggestions would be to use a variant like Maria...
Suggestions or picking from the list is great, either way. We do like the ones on the list but there are always others suggested that we have never heard (Nash was a suggestion) so I am open to all comments!
Sorry @victoria98 I don't like it. I'm not a huge Kardashian fan but I was disappointed when she named her son Reign after the normal (albeit very popular) name Mason, and GREAT name Penelope. Where did Reign come from??

@MDmomma1217 I think it's fine to do the same middle name, but I personally wouldn't. Do you have any other kids? What's DH's middle name? Does he have a name that has an obvious feminine variation that you could use? That way both girls have a middle name from their parent (Like Phillip --> Phillipa or Michael --> Michaela).

Ever hear of 5 Mary's Farm? The owner/operator is a woman named Mary. And she named all her daughters Mary as well. With different middle names.

Snoopy won't sugarcoat... I will say that Raina, Raney, Rain are pretty nicknames for Lorraine. So it seems very feminine to me.
What about Rhys, Reid, or Ronan.

Nash
Elias "Eli"
Alder
Levi
Anders
The middle name will probably be Lee or Reed. Last name starts with 'P' and is pronounced similarly to Patron (tequila). HELP!
Were you wanting us to pick from those names or are you open to suggestions? From your list I like Elias Reed the best
Suggestions or picking from the list is great, either way. We do like the ones on the list but there are always others suggested that we have never heard (Nash was a suggestion) so I am open to all comments!

I know a little baby Anders, I had never heard the name before him but really like it
