  • Yeah sometimes I think she is hiccuping when I'm doing number 2 and worry I'm gonna accidentally push her out into the toilet bowl!!!

  • I need quick relief suffering from a cold and/or sinus infection. I'm going to the doctor today and hopefully can get prescription, but I'm not worried about getting over it as much as I just want to breathe again. I hear Breathe Right Nasal Strips are okay. I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten sick and how they treated it? Mucinex and Benadryl are not working for me at all. I took Tylenol PM just to get some sleep last night, and I have a Vicks Vaporizer, but I'm still having trouble breathing from the congestion. I'm sure my doctor will clear this up quickly for me, but any opinions will help, and I'll update after my appointment today.

Aside from being pregnant and suffering from a cold and sinus issues, I also burnt my tongue yesterday so my tongue is really sensitive to being dried out, which happens since I can't breathe through my nose. I've probably taken in more fluids in the last few days than I ever have before.

Neti pot, and I've found that when I use it when I'm not sick, it keeps infections away that the rest of my family catches.

  • I'm struggling with chest tightness/feeling out of breath. It feels like a panic attack coming on whenever it happens so it scares me every time.

34w2d and today I woke up feeling crampy in my pelvis and lower back pain (kinda like before my period) and pelvic/rectal pressure. I can't tell by looking at myself, but is this what it feels like when baby drops? I've been on modified bed rest for the past week for early contractions, etc., so I'm hopeful this is NOT an indication that baby will be here soon. I want baby to stay in there as long as possible!  I have a doctor's appointment later this afternoon, but I just wanted to get some opinions beforehand

Edited because I left out info :)
  • @RebekahA83 How did the doc appt go? What did the doctor say?
  • Another week of bedrest, and yes, baby has dropped! I work 12 hour shifts, so my doctor doesn't want me on my feet right now since that's initially what started my contractions a couple of weeks ago. TMI alert--Luckily I'm only 1cm dilated and haven't lost my mucus plug or anything significant like that. Mostly I just seem to have an "irritable uterus" and at 34 weeks, it's just a little too soon! Thanks for asking @kimey1 !

@RebekahA83Good to hear you're fine  Doctor's orders will save you from going into labor early
  • Has anyone else lost there mucus plug?  I'm 33.5 weeks and I'm 99% sure I've lost mine
  • So I've been sick for nearly two weeks now with sniffles and more recently a full-blown cough. Today I started getting diarrhea, which has me a little freaked out because I'm 35w5d and I don't want to go into labor yet, and I've heard diarrhea can cause labor. Not sure what to do, but I'm really annoyed at my body right now.
  • Holy Charlie horse cramps batman!

Go to triage, the dehydration from the vomiting could be causing the cramping, or it could be actual contractions. We couldn't tell you, but the best thing would be to have a doctor check you out and get some IV fluids in you if nothing else.
  • Just found out that instead of 34 weeks we are 35 weeks. I've been cramping since yesterday and now it seems to be getting worse. He's moving and all that jazz but the cramping is no fun. Is this normal?

Has anyone else dropped? I feel like it's a bit early (30 weeks), but it's my first so I'm not sure. Holy crap it's uncomfortable though!
I have no earthly idea how I'd know if baby has dropped.  Everyone has told me I "look like I've dropped" but if I'm supposed to know what that feels like I don't, and that makes me feel stupid.   :s

I visibly saw a difference when I looked in the mirror. I'm also breathing a bit easier than I was.
  • Has anyone else's eyelashes turned into crap since being pregnant?  I always had beautiful, long lashes but since pregnancy they've just become short and unmanageable!

  • If it makes you feel better I have no idea what Braxton hicks contractions are!

I don't have any this time around! Or, perhaps I just haven't noticed my linea blanca yet.

Yes! It didn't happen with my other babies, but it happened with this one. Every pregnancy is different...

Not my lashes but since reaching 30 weeks my hair started tangling. It was fine the whole time and now it's alk tangled when I'm done drying my hair after a  shower!

Preach! It started with not wanting to be on top anymore. Then not wanting my top to come off. Then things started to hurt. Now I want all my clothes on and I just want to be snuggled all the time until the baby comes.
  • I have been dealing with severe pelvic pain that started before 20 weeks. I am now 34 weeks and it's gotten so much worse! I can't roll over in bed or open my legs while lying on my side with out it shooting down my leg. Most of the time my husband has to help me roll or get in and out of bed. Every time I tell the dr they say there's nothing that can be done. I do go to the chiropractor and it gives me a little relief for a few hours. I have come to terms with the fact that it just something I have to deal with, and as long as the baby's ok I'm happy. However I want to have a natural birth with no epidural and I'm terrified that this will cause even more pain. Has anyone else had pelvic pain like this and was still able to give birth naturally? Or does anyone have any advice?

@ClaraT13Google pelvic girdle pain and symfasis pubis dysfunction. I have this pain as well. My doctor has shown me a couple of stretches that my husband does with my legs. It helps stretch them out but it's only temporary. He also advised me to keep active throughout the day but not to overdo it. Small walks but with lots of breaks.
It's so painful and annoying but the only thing to get rid of the pain is to have the baby.
My cousin had this with her first baby and says it was her easiest delivery. Hopefully it won't affect ours as well!
  • Terrible period-like cramping all afternoon today. Haven't had any tylenol on hand while at work so I hope taking some now will make the pain go away.

  • @ClaraT13 like PP said - symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD)/pelvic girdle pain. Getting a pregnancy support brace can help alleviate some of the pressure, I am also in physical therapy this time around and am focusing on diaphragmatic breathing techniques and pelvic floor/abdominal contraction exercises which have been very helpful. Log rolling in bed, positioning with pillows, heat (shower/bath), avoiding crossing your legs are all helpful things. Sitting when dressing and avoiding activities where you have to balance on one leg for any period of time is also good.

I had this with my first pregnancy, and I went on to have a successful vaginal birth, although with an epidural but I never considered going med free. Delivery was the only thing that alleviated that pelvic pain, and while other pains replaced it, it was wonderful for my pelvis and my sanity. I know it's miserable - it started earlier this time around for me and has been more intense as time goes on, but there is an end in sight.
  • @rebelone me too! My back cramps haven't stopped since last night. Just took extra strength Tylenol and hoping it helps me sleep a bit tonight.

i also feel like my insides are all squished, I can't even explain the feeling other than my insides are so uncomfortable
  • Thank goodness it goes away after giving birth. I'll have to look into the support bands!

If you have to be up on your feet a lot, they can really help. I paid for mine with my FSA and it was around 30$ well spent.
  • Okay, I have another question/problem. Now that I'm 37 weeks, I've swelled up in my hands in feet, so I figured some itching would come with the territory, and my doctor didn't seem concerned by the swelling alone. But now my feet and hands are really itchy!! And I read that it could be a sign of Cholestasis. Well, lucky weekend me, I can't even call a nurse until Monday. So I'm wondering if anyone else had really itchy feet and hands that was normal for late pregnancy? I know I've been having heartburn and gas increased over the past week, too, but they aren't abnormal symptoms. I just really want some relief from the itching.
  • @Bubbles3592 Not sure about the hands and feet aspect but my stomach is DEFINITELY more itchy all the sudden. I've been putting olive oil on it to moisturize it, but that's about it. I have noticed that my feet are super dry lately too. Too bad I can't reach them to do anything about it
  • @Bubbles3592 if the palms of your hands and feet are itchy you should definitely get your liver numbers checked at the doctor :)

  • Has anyone had really bad migraines at the end? I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow and this past week I've had debilitating migraines. The doctor gave me some Tylenol 3s and they're almost gone. Any advice?

Are you drinking enough water? I notice that if I don't drink enough I will get a bad headache, but not to the extreme of a  migraine. I used to get migraines prior to pregnancy and after the first tri they have stopped (I don't want to jinx it) but I'm hoping they don't come back once LO is born.
  • Heartburn?? I've had this horrible knot feeling in my lower throat since . Is that part of Heartburn! ? How do I get rid of it!? I can't have tums.. anything else? This is horrible!

I get the knot feeling related to anxiety. It's called "globus sensation".

That is what my heartburn sometimes feels like, at first I thought it was my vitamins that were getting stuck in my throat. I always had a hard time swallowing large pills  Tums weren't doing it for me so my dr told me that I could take Zantac which has been a lifesaver. I get heartburn from everything, even just eating bread these days :(
