My phone is so dumb about tagging. Maureenmce it is very possible that it could hit you like a truck! I was doing very well- blissfully happy if anything and then I got hit with an emotional trigger and completely lost it! Everything made me cry all afternoon and then that evening I went into complete inconsolable hysterics for a couple hours- though I felt find the next day. So just don't be surprised
Anyone else distinctly NOT feeling the baby blues or very emotional? It sounds weird but I'm concerned that it'll come out of nowhere and knock me on my ass. I'm only 6 days post partum, so maybe it happens later? I seriously just feel like my normal, pre pregnancy self emotionally, and it's throwing me off. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop!
Not all women experience it, so you may be one of the lucky ones. For me, it was about 1 week PP and it happened like many other people have described: very sudden, very intense. But "they" estimate that up to 80% of women experience it, which means 20% or more women don't...
@maureenmce 5 wks pp and it hasnt really hit me.. (Yet?) sure I'll have a small emotional bout and cry usually out of frustration for a minute but I have yet to intensely sob. Haha. Hopefully we're just in the lucky minority!
@maureenmce 5 weeks pp and I haven't felt it yet. I've been on guard though because it can hit you any time in the first year. I have had an episode or 2 of a couple hours of sobbing, but nothing that I haven't gotten over quickly. Hopefully we are the lucky ones!
Pretty weird: When I'm just waking/half asleep I would sometimes get what feels like a rush of warmth 'down there'- at first I thought I was peeing myself (cause that happened a few times also) but when I checked, nothing. No significant bleeding or other discharge either, and its not like a sexual feeling either. Happens much less now than that first week but it was pretty bizarre, not a sensation I've experienced before. I wasn't prepared for the peeing myself thing either.
It's not really a symptom, but when DD arouses in the night (and I begin to wake up,) I feel like she's already lying on my chest. I'm pretty sure it's because my breasts weigh so much more than they used to. Or, if my cat is sleeping next to me, I think it's the baby, and I've somehow fallen asleep with her in bed.it really freaks me out and I wake up pretty fast. Hopefully that'll go away at some point!

My little guy is 7 weeks old and over the last two weeks I've just started feeling like he's already laying on my chest when I wake up to his stirring in the night! It always scares me awake a bit like, "oh no I fell asleep holding the baby!" And my milk supply has settled down to the point where I don't usually wake up engorged. The weirdest part is I don't really ever lay down with him on my chest. I always get up to the couch or rocker in his nursery even in the night to feed him. I'm glad I'm not alone!

This was happening to me too!! I would wake up and frantically search the sheets for the baby I was sure I had accidentally left there! It passed after a week or so though.

This hasn't happened to me but DH has woken up every night since we brought her home feeling like he had lost her in the sheets. He was convinced a couple of nights that the pillow he was holding was our daughter. He claims it had a heartbeat.
@maureenmce not everyone will have every pms, pregnancy or pp symptom. I am 4 weeks pp on Tuesday and while I do get frustrated or worry about LO, I feel pretty normal. Depression is also not the same intensity, duration, etc for everyone. Try to get as much rest as possible, eat as well as you can, and go outside if the weather allows to stay healthy!
I've had tenderness/slight numbness in my upper abdomen. Not sure if it's just from being able to use my abs or if it's something to do with shrinking uterus?? I've lost a TON of weight which is kind of scary and also kind of awesome. I'm so tired....
I'm 5 weeks pp and I get awful headaches just about every day and omg the night sweats! I've also had that weird dripping feeling while breastfeeding but of course nothing is wet
Ok so I was feeling the dripping sensation while breastfeeding and I THINK I figured it out... At least for me. It's my baby's hand touching my stomach like if he moves his fingers super slightly it will feel like something is dripping. Maybe that's not it, but the other day I was so certain it was dripping I yelled omg hand me the burp cloth and then... Nothing was there. Until I saw my baby move his finger and felt it! I could be wrong, or going crazy. Or both
My God I thought I was going crazy! I look for the baby in sheets and covers too! Then I realise she's right there in ye crib beside me!! What's that all about I wonder?! Also yes to the odour - im so paranoid about it! When will it end
I think you're right! After I responded in this thread I paid closer attention when I felt the dripping and saw tiny fingers moving between me and my Brest friend pillow!! @kaym6
@krrpe99 I get that feeling too! I was cuddling with my cat today (who's about 3x my baby's size) and kept waking up to see if the cat was breathing, thinking it was the baby!
Have y'all had the falling dream? The one where you startle yourself away because you thought you were falling? Well, after my son, I had a similar one, but I had dropped the baby in my dream. I freaked out. SO thought I had completely lost my mind.
Oh my gosh @l4rkthe thirst! So much. Mine mostly happens during the night, I can drink a whole bottle of water during each time I wake up to feed. During the first two weeks I was also extremely weepy and emotional. I cried soooooo much. I've also been sweating like crazy and more potent than usual. The fourth trimester is so weird! My stretch marks are FINALLY becoming less tender to touch and my C-section incision is now completely numb as is the area around it.
ETA I have also been getting super dizzy when I stand up!
Sleep apnea and postpartum anxiety. The sleep apnea might be from all the fluids during labor so I keep hope once the swelling goes down some more internally it will go away.

Definitely headaches! Also I am pretty sure my vision is worse since giving birth! I wore glasses before but only sometimes, now I feel like I need them all the time.... And may need a stronger prescription. Anyone else having this problem?
Might have been mentioned or might be TMI, but can we talk bleeding/discharge? I stopped bleeding around 4 weeks but now at almost 6 weeks I still have so much discharge that I still have to wear pads. Normal, not normal? Tell me I'm not alone! Haha.

Almost 6 weeks pp and I definitely still need at least a liner if not a pad, especially after showering for whatever reason. As long as it's not extremely excessive I would say it's fairly normal.
@alisongem 6 weeks PP today and def still needing a liner for discharge.
I actually have my postpartum checkup tomorrow... Kind of freaking out since I don't know what all it entails, I have a second degree labia tear on both sides that still don't feel healed, it still burns in one spot when I pee even using the little peri bottle AND my husband is out of the country for work so I'll have the baby with me (is that normal??)
@kaym6 I took my son with me and plan on taking my daughter with me this time around. I even called to make sure it was Ok with the staff at the office. After back to back pregnancies, I feel like the office staff are good friends, and they love to see babies! And I'm excited to show mine off!
@emdunn87 I'm in the same boat on vision being worse. I actually think mine is from exhaustion - but get your blood pressure checked because I think headache + vision can be a blood pressure issue.
@emdunn87 this is totally normal. I looked into LASIK for my maternity leave and it turns out they won't even do the surgery while pregnant or breastfeeding because your vision can fluctuate. I think it normally goes back eventually, after you stop BFing.
- headaches constantly - dizziness/ light headed ness ( even after eating) - not being able to sleep - smelly vagina - excessive fatigue (probably because I can't sleep) - dry skin - loss of appetite
-hormonal acne, especially jawline -baby blues -increased bleeding for some reason
Nooo! I was hoping you escaped the baby blues! Well, if you are anything like I was, just know that it's very temporary. You will not cry about everything forever.
Thanks so much @l4rk and @ChrissyD1203 ! It's been really rough because the baby blues have come at the same time as some real struggles breast feeding and formula wise, so I'm taking things really hard. LO has a shallow latch that I can't seem to fix and when we supplement she keeps throwing up her formula. I feel like feeding my child should be the simplest thing in the world and somehow I'm not able to do it very well so far and it's a terrible feeling. It's good to know that it'll pass (both the baby blues and these feeding problems) hopefully very soon!
@maureenmce same symptoms here. Just cried when my husband got home. LO was crying cause she woke up and was hungry. But have his family in town and they want to help but they can't and don't know how to calm her down. I'm just exhausted. She hasn't slept in her rock and sleeper the past 2 days like she had been.
@maureenmcei had shallow latch problems for awhile too. I formula supplemented as needed and eventually it got better. I saw 3 LCs and putting together tips of all of their advice EVENTUALLY it worked out. Baby blues sucked - going out and meeting a friend for coffee was like the only time I went an hour without crying in the first 3 weeks. Going for a run in week 5 was the first time I actually felt completely normal. Going outside ALWAYS helped at least just a little - even though I had to force myself to do it.
My weirdest pp symptom was losing the sensation in the fingertip of the pointer finger of my right hand, and the strength in my thumb and middle finger. I think it had to do with the IV that was in my forearm. It lasted a loooonnng time, but everything is back to normal now, 6 weeks pp.
6 weeks pp and I have started itching... Anyone else? Lotion helps for a while, but it seems to be concentrated to my face and upper arms.... Ugh, it's miserable.

I have the same thing, but it is all over my body! I had my 6 week checkup yesterday and the Dr said it's a viral rash. I could take benadryl but it knocks me right out. Otherwise he said to just let it run its course but it shouldn't affect DS. I'm so itchy it's driving me nuts!
