How was your week of working out?  What did you do?

Any changes yet?

GTKY:  (BTDT Moms)  Did you workout with your first pregnancy (or subsequent), and do you feel like it helped you with labor and recovery?

GTKY: (Everyone!)  What health/fitness related goal have you completed that you are most proud of?

Re: Fit Mom Check-In 2.15

  • How was your week of working out?  What did you do? It was one of my best weeks in awhile.  I got 4 runs in, and actually ate a few veggies!  3 of the runs were only 2 miles, but one was for 5k.

Any changes yet? nope, actually feel like I'm building endurance, which is great!

GTKY:  (BTDT Moms)  Did you workout with your first pregnancy (or subsequent), and do you feel like it helped you with labor and recovery? I ran up to the day before I was induced last pregnancy.  I think it helped me with delivery in that I pushed for 1.5 hours and didn't immediately pass out.  Honestly maybe I wasn't pushing hard enough (she was a bit stuck), but I didn't feel over worked?  I feel like recovery was pretty easy and when I started running again it wasn't horrible.  Can I credit it to an active pregnancy? I don't know.

DH and I ran a 15k last year.  It was a big deal to me!  Also, running through my last pregnancy.

  • How was your week of working out?  What did you do? It was ok. I think I took two rest days and then had one really easy workout day. The others days I actually broke a sweat. :)

Any changes yet? Trying not to give in to the extreme exhaustion. Getting out of bed so early to workout is proving to be quite a task though...

GTKY:  (BTDT Moms)  Did you workout with your first pregnancy (or subsequent), and do you feel like it helped you with labor and recovery? Yes, I ran the entire pregnancy and did HIIT bootcamps. I'm really glad I did b/c I do feel like it made recovery pretty easy. I pushed her out in less than 30 minutes (after 17 hours in labor though) and was cleared to workout a little bit earlier than 6 weeks so I think it all helped.

GTKY: (Everyone!)  What health/fitness related goal have you completed that you are most proud of? I guess running the NYC marathon. I've done a few, but that one was by far the hardest. It was also the first marathon I completed post DD.

  • How was your week of working out?  What did you do? I worked out four days last week.  Bike, stair stepper, elliptical, crunches and push-ups

    Any changes yet?  None

GTKY:  (BTDT Moms)  Did you workout with your first pregnancy (or subsequent), and do you feel like it helped you with labor and recovery?  No and No.  Each recovery has gotten worse even when I do workout.

GTKY: (Everyone!)  What health/fitness related goal have you completed that you are most proud of?  I only gained 6 pounds this tri.  Woohoo, I usually gain 15.

  • @squishy0511 315 lbs? That's amazing!!!
  • @texasmama2014 thank you!! :-) it only happened once but I was pretty proud haha.
  • How was your week of working out?  What did you do? Still sticking to my regular routine - CrossFit 3 times/week, running twice a week, and volleyball twice a week.

Any changes yet? I can definitely tell I'm a little weaker. My coach is encouraging me to take more breaks so I'm working on that.

GTKY: (Everyone!)  What health/fitness related goal have you completed that you are most proud of? Definitely running a marathon. Though I'm athletic, I'm definitely not the natural runner type. I still like half marathons much better because the recovery is much shorter, but I've ran 2 marathons and I'm so proud of that!
