Tea anyone?

Re: Tea anyone?

• @PensiveCrayon That is the same Fertilitea I tried last cycle, and it is nice enough tasting. I read in the reviews it's better to stop the tea after you've confirmed O, so I only drank it during my FP, which basically meant I got through the box, (I did the sachets instead of loose since I can't find my teaball after the move.. grumble grumble) but at 16 per box, it's pricey but it worked out great since I O'd on CD16. Not KTFU, but I got another box anyway to help with this cycle. I'm all for natural ways to support my body's own fertility, especially since right now we're not in a place where we're getting any medical intervention. Plus @khbear I also love the Harney & Sons hot cinnamon spice!

• @BusinessWife I'm interested to hear how it turns out, or if it affects your EWCM at all! And @Lulucooks I do agree with your point that things like Fertilitea need to be taken very carefully.

• @PensiveCrayon I agree with you and @Lulucooks. That's why I only took the one sachet per day during the first half of my cycle, and then switched to plain red raspberry leaf during my LP. (You hear people talk about it causing contractions and avoiding it certain times, but I referenced a link above as just one example that's not necessarily true.) I have had teas with most of the other ingredients in it before, like the nettle, so I felt pretty good about my decision. Now that you mention it, my normal "creamy" post-AF cm was actually stretchy to about 1/2" which I thought was pretty crazy! That was before I had started the guafenesin too, but after a few days of the Fertilitea. Then my EWCM was totally obvious, as well as a couple watery days. Those were two things I did differently last cycle, the tea and the guafenesin, (plus opks), and whatever the cause may have been, I definitely felt like I got a very clear CM read throughout my cycle.
• @peachykeen17 yes it's greatness!!!! So the trick is, to initially freeze the slices while laid out on cookie sheets so that when you put them in the bag after they've frozen, they don't stick together. :) I've done it the other way, allowing them to freeze in the bag... Nope nope nope.

@peachykeen17 Me too!! I do lemon butter salmon and Lemon pepper chicken often bc they are so easy. And Lemon cookies during the summer :) favorite lemon recipe?

I also freeze lemon zest and Lemon juice in ice cube trays. I cook with those a lot!!! And then you can buy bags of lemons, which are cheaper. Bonus!! Lol.

• Love all the tea recommendations! I have just started getting back into tea after kicking coffee. I am in love with the Tulsi Honey Chamomile at night and I've been drinking the Clipper green tea in the morning. Can't wait to try some of these others that were mentioned!
• After living in Ireland, I am all about the Bewley's Irish tea (Dublin Morning, Irish Breakfast, Irish Afternoon) and my family actually gets it imported. Around Christmas, my mom ordered over $200 worth of tea! This is not fancy stuff and you can totally get it in the market over there, so it was a big box. But, it's super high caf, so I'm trying to cut back and drink more decaf green tea (Asian Gourmet is my favorite).

• @PensiveCrayon
I will have to get some. I will have to use all my random teas before I buy more though. It is almost as bad as buying new shampoo but still have some left and you can't use it till you finished the old one.
• @Hayrock We have soooooo much tea at home. It doesn't help that my MIL owns a froyo/tea shop and sends us samples to try. Last year I told myself I would drink my way through our entire supply. One cup or more a day and it took the entire year. Even still, I let myself dump some of the stuff that I couldn't stand.

• So pleased! My Fertilitea came in, as well as a 6-pack each of peppermint and ginger aid. This is how I make it work: I keep the cases in the cellar and only bring up one box at a time to put in the cabinet. That way it looks like maybe normalish people live here.
• This thread inspired me to re-try some roobios chai tea that I thought I didn't like and make it properly. Okay, now it's amazing. I might actually even like it better than *gasp* coffee!

Tea, why you no come with better instructions?

This is one of my pet peeves. Especially with green tea because, as previously stated, I spent a long time forcing myself to drink it when it turns out I would have liked it all along if I'd just been making it right!

• @gardeniagirlknits Yes! I get bags of lemons at Aldi and put em in my crisper drawer in my fridge and they last forever! But now that I know about freezing lemon slices... oh its a whole new ball game. We make lemon pepper chicken a lot too, or lemon pepper potatoes. We just found a new recipe of a lemon shrimp scampi... so good. Also can't go wrong with a straight up lemon bar.
• I actually work part-time at Teavana, like we are talking once a month (gotta keep those benefits and Starbucks benefits)! We recommend rooibos teas and herbal (meaning a combo of fruits and flowers more than actual herbs) for our pregnant customers. Some white teas can be okay, depending on what your Doc recommends, simply because they are typically younger, less processed/fermented tea leaves. :) I have way too much teas and several faves!
• Thanks for all the great recs everyone ! Just ordered a bunch of teas on Amazon thanks to this thread.
and @gardeniagirlknits you blew my mind with the frozen lemon slices!!
