CD: 19. Not sure if I should be in TWW but I'm gonna hang out here for another day if thats cool. See my R/R/CS.

WAYDTGKU: PNV, temping/charting, HIO... a lot.

R/R/CS: I haven't been participating lately because I don't know where I belong right now. Expert CSers, help! I have a lot of open circles because as I get around my FW I start sleeping awfully due to worrying about taking my temperature. It know, its ridiculous, but I'll end up waking up at like 3:00 (I usually take my temp at 4:40) and then I'll have to take my temp at that time. I've also been sleeping really restlessly lately so some of the open circles are because I put "sleep deprived." Also not sure how accurate my CM is (except for the EWCM) because I'm so awful at figuring it out. Anyway, I'm on FAM settings and if I get one more high temp FF has me Oing on CD 17, but if I change it to advanced setting I get dotted CH on CD 15 (which I think is more accurate). What say you, oh wise bumpies?

GTKY: If you could work for yourself, doing anything you wanted (even if you dont currently have the skill for it) what would it be?
oh man, I wish I had a creative bone in my body. That would be my dream, to stay at home and do something creative (painting, knitting, woodworking etc) and have an etsy shop. Unfortunately I have no artistic talent. I can crochet a simple blanket but it takes me like a year to finish.
• @peachykeen17 Your chart looks fine to me, I thought O looked like CD18 but I can see CD17 too, I just didnt think 18 was a very high spike. Either way your timing is great. Did you manage to get an OPK over 17/18?

• @babymish Thanks for your input! I'm glad we continued to HIO then. Didn't get an OPK on CD 17/18. I don't have a great excuse for that. I was doing them up until CD 15 and was so sure I O'd on CD 15 that I stopped... even though I was getting negative wondfos. Ugh. Can you tell I'm new to this temping/OPK thing?

• Lurking from tww...

@peachykeen17 FWIW when I wake up before my normal temp time (if it is less than 3 or so hours prior) I will go ahead and take my temp. Then I got back to sleep and when my alarm goes off I will take it again. Usually they are pretty close and I just split the difference. Getting temps at both time might help give you an idea of how much the time and amount of sleep prior to temping impacts your actual temp.

For example, this morning I had my alarm set for 530 (normal temp time is between 5 and 6). I randomly woke up at like 4:15 (I had crazy dreams last night...). I took my temp and it was 97.73. I went ahead and turned my alarm off (because I am solidly in the TWw and the temp isn't that important). Then I woke up again at 6 because I had to use the bathroom. I temped for shits and giggles and it was 97.89. I just more or less split the difference and called it 97.80.
• @furbabymom2007 You know, I never thought about doing that. It would probably alleviate a lot of my anxieties about temping. I get so worked up about waking up at the exact same time that I never end up waking up at the exact same time. Having a plan of temping when I wake up early and again at my alarm and splitting the difference actually already makes me feel better about it. :) So, thanks!
• @peachykeen17 it looks like CD18 to me, too. No matter which O date you get, your timing is good!

WAYDTGKU: All the things.

R/R/CS: OPKs aren't darkening at all and CM is still sticky AF. I would really like to ovulate soon, please and thank you.

GTKY: I would love to plan events. I had a blast planning my wedding, and I'm doing a pretty bang-up job of planning my honeymoon. Between my sales background and now being the yearbook advisor for my school, I'm used to organizing vendors and managing large groups of people. I think I'd be awesome at event planning.

R/R/CS: If I don't get any positive opks or a temp spike this weekend then I guess I'll believe FF that I ovulated on CD12 and move on to TWW. My temps have been in much more of the "normal" range. My Mabis had really low temp readings and I was beginning to worry based on TCOYF.

• @peachykeen17 A year ago I would've agreed that the Advanced setting was the way to go. They've changed it since and for the worse and it'll assign O far too early now (and even assign O to non-biphasic charts which makes me want to throw things). Go with FAM for now.

CD: 4

WAYDTGKU:
Temp, CM, CP, POAS OPK, Saliva OPK, extra folic acid, PNV gummies, Cal/Mag/Zinc, SAD lamp to increase FSH & LH, Home SA, HIO 2-a-day in FW, Guaifenesin.

R/R/CS: Not much to worry about TTC-wise now. Shopping for new flooring today. It's between a medium toned walnut/cappuccino laminate that matches our 1979 trim and ceiling beams or a much lighter distressed neutral-undertone chestnut that would keep the lightness of the white carpet that was there. Thoughts?

GTKY: I'd run a plant nursery or design conservatories. The latter really need to become a staple in homes. It just blows my mind how homes have gotten so much bigger over the decades and we couldn't be bothered to include an atrium or something somewhere.

@babymish I'm so happy things are going great!

@lcsrva planning sounds great! Like events and parties? Sounds so fun!

@peachykeen17 Etsy is wonderful! But I too can do some things but not very well!

Month/Cycle: 5/5

CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: PNV, OPK, BD at FW

R/R/CS: well after our week of will we/won't we, I have been very calm and happy. But my FW is coming soon and I think I need to kick it up. I've only done one OPK and we've been too busy to BD so I def need to get it together!

GTKY: If you could work for yourself, doing anything you wanted (even if you dont currently have the skill for it) what would it be?

I would like to say I'm crafty but not at a very good rate. I love making wreaths. They're ok I guess.. I secretly always wanted to open a restaurant. But like a super casual bar and grill. But the food would be sandwiches. I love sandwiches! And I love creating different ones. Mmmmmm

ugh I can't spell on the mobile app... But far too lazy to get up...
• ***Question in R/R/CS***

Month/Cycle: 7/7

CD: 8

WAYDTGKU: PNVs, BBT, OPKs, and HIO

R/R/CS: Is there any significance in seeing increased CM immediately following AF? Could it be a sign of a hormonal (estrogen) imbalance? TMI: This is the second cycle that I have noted an increase in CM (verging on EWCM) immediately following AF, and Dr. Google is less than reassuring.

GTKY: I'd also like to plan events...it's So much fun and really rewarding to see everything come together.

R/R/CS: I've never been so impatient to ovulate lol. I can't imagine being in the TWW, that might literally kill me. How do you guys stay sane? FF says I should around the 17th, but I haven't noticed any changes in my CM yet...I'm hoping to hit that fertility window soon though!

GTKY: If you could work for yourself, doing anything you wanted (even if you don't currently have the skill for it) what would it be? Hm, I don't know. I'm a writer and am fortunate to get paid to do it, but honestly, I'd be fine with being super rich and never working again haha.

GTKY: If you could work for yourself, doing anything you wanted (even if you dont currently have the skill for it) what would it be? I'm really struggling to answer this, probably be a private investigator or decorate homes, two very different things lol.
• @GhanimaAtreides That's good to know, thank you. I just recently changed to the FAM settings on FF so I kept going back and forth this month changing it between that and advanced settings because I didn't know what to trust. I'll quit that and just keep it on FAM.

I got up to go to the bathroom without checking the time and just laid without moving awake for the next 2 hours and temped at my normal time since i forgot.

GTKY: I'd love to be a surgeon or a lawyer, but school. Something I am able to do would be I've had big plans to open a transitional vacation retreat somewhere warm for athletes finishing their careers. I've had several friends who have committed suicide and have had trouble adjusting. I started a blog about retired athlete problems and have had a lot of positive feedback with it. Still trying to figure out what I can do.

• @Marley629So sorry you're having to be back in WTO. Have fun getting your hair done!

@writeress You asked how do we stay sane? Sometimes, I don't! Seriously, though, I've been trying to stay busy and not obsess about O. Exercise helps.

@H4aPof5 It's hard to say ... I've read that lots of CM can be a sign of increased estrogen, which can occur with a hormonal imbalance, but it's definitely not a definite thing. Try not to freak yourself out. Trust me, I've been googling things like "hormonal imbalance" a lot, and it could drive a person insane.

@GhanimaAtreides - I'm partial to medium tones. I feel like they've more timeless, although I've seen some nice lighter flooring.

Month/Cycle: 2/1 TTCAL

CD: 34

WAYDTGKU: Temping and charting still, but I've taken a break on OPK for two reasons: one, I don't want to keep wasting them; two, they're driving me insane. I've had a ton of almost positives, and I just think they're driving me more nuts than they're worth. We're still trying to HIO as much as possible. Taking all the vitamins, metformin, etc.

R/R/CS: Last night I told DH I haven't O'ed yet so we need to HIO this weekend, and poor DH is like, "really? what happened to the 4 day window where you're fertile? Don't we just need to wait for that?" So I gave him a lesson about temping, fertility signs, the temp rise, etc. So I think he gets it now. Today I'll see if he's interested in access to FF.

GTKY: Hmm, on the practical side, I'd open my own firm and hire a paralegal and an associate so I could do the fun stuff and they could do the tedious stuff. On the fantasy side, I'd be a hairdresser or a makeup artist.

I end up having to be on the phone a lot and that's really hard with a toddler. It's also pretty common for me to have to stay up after midnight because I get nothing done during the day. I can't think of anything else that I would be good at/qualified for but I would love to renovate and decorate houses!

R/R/CS: What's going on, body? No EWCM at all this month, but I did have a temp spike this morning. I've been sick, though, and last night was particularly bad. I kept waking up with a parched throat. So, we'll see if tomorrow is a repeat high or if today's high was speshul. At this point, I don't even care.

The encouraging news is, DH was supposed to leave for 6 weeks at the end of this month, which would have put us out for a good two cycles, but it looks like that might not be happening anymore. MOAR TRYING.

GTKY: I do work for myself! I'm a writer, and while it's not great income, it's nice to be at home and cook and exercise and be able to do stuff for my overworked DH in general. Yeah, it gets a little lonely sometimes. But overall, I'm very happy.

R/R/CS: I am SO sick today. Woke up with a temp of 99.8 (I'm normally down in the 96-97 range). I don't get sick often but when I do it's a doozy. FX this doesn't delay O day. AF + fever + horrible cough = miserable day.

I would also be an event planner. Back in the day I used to work for a really high end Planner (think $200k+ weddings) and I loved it, just hated my boss. I've always said I'd start doing it again once all my friends started getting married and I could plan theirs and build a portfolio... but I was the first one to get hitched and none of them are even close to it yet! So my plan could take a while... :)

Pretty disappointed to be back in WTO, (I feel like a glutton for punishment just logging in), but it is what it is. DH let me have a good cry over it last night and was really sweet, so that was nice. I installed the FF ap to try that just for laughs and toots. Sort of annoying though how I feel like I have to enter everything more than once before it actually saves. So far, it's also predicting my O-date a little earlier than what it's been lately, but it also doesn't have any of my previous data stored, so it doesn't know that yet.

GTKY: I do work for myself; right now DH and I have a business I help run. So I SAH/work from the home office. But really if I could do ANYTHING and not worry about money, it would be sing. Just sing, perform, travel/study and/or do some part-time choral conducting like for Church or something with the community. Right now I just sing at Church, but I would love to get things humming along enough with the business I can spend more time learning new rep and auditioning and stuff like that. I would also love to do more with renovating/interior design. We are hoping to get some rental properties down the line, so that will be fun when the time comes!

R/R/CS: My rave for the day is my OPK actually registered yesterday and today! I swear that my 1st cycle TTC and my last cycle that I never even got a 2nd line. Now I am wondering if I had a faulty batch or if I was throwing them away too soon after peeing on them? Anyone else have issues with OPKs that resolved? Either way, I'm feeling much better about this cycle. My rant is that my hormone-related migraines started yesterday in conjunction with a rise in estrogen. If things follow the usual pattern, I will have them everyday until a couple days in my LP when the estrogen drops. I have no idea whether this is due to a hormone imbalance or what is going on, but it had been a good 6-7 months without them, so I am disappointed. I am also annoyed b/c I can't take advil b/c I read that interferes with ovulation, so I am just riding out the pain!

GTKY: If you could work for yourself, doing anything you wanted (even if you dont currently have the skill for it) what would it be?

I like the idea of being a real estate agent. My H is one and he can go weeks without doing much work and still pull in a good salary. After his business expands and we have a healthier savings, I may quit my job and work with him. That is at least 5 years down the road though!

I'm also with all you PPs that said event planning. I loved planning my wedding and I miss it! I actually used to be an event planner for a nonprofit and loved it, but it paid too little!

I get so worked up about waking up at the exact same time that I never end up waking up at the exact same time. Having a plan of temping when I wake up early and again at my alarm and splitting the difference actually already makes me feel better about it. :) So, thanks!

R/R/CS: finally ewcm last night! But not a lot, so we used pre-seed for the first time. My H had had several drinks and it was a marathon session and the preseed kept getting sticky and ugh. I'm so sore. I also had drinks last night and had a huge temp spike this morning, but I'm not sure if I trust it. I want to hio again tonight just in case...but I also don't want to. :(

GTKY: If you could work for yourself, doing anything you wanted (even if you dont currently have the skill for it) what would it be?
Oh I don't know, something that makes a lot of money doing very little, haha.
• @BusinessWife I'm sorry about CD1

OT, but update from my R/R/CS: So Home Depot quoted $3,400 for materials and seven freaking thousand for the labor. Of which we'd only save $800 removing our old carpet and furniture for them. Am I weird for thinking it's insane to charge double the materials cost for labor? I'm definitely going to get a couple more estimates but I think we may end up installing ourselves.

@PennStateCait I'm on my phone, do you have a screenshot of your chart you can post?
Of course! Would love any opinions. Keep in mind I got a new bbt on cd10 since my Mabis died. I usually O around cd18 so I may not have started opks this month early enough? I just don't think there's enough data to call a temp shift/o on cd 12?

• @GhanimaAtreides like... 7,000 ON TOP of the 3400 for materials? That seems like a crazy amount to me. But my only experience w/ floor installation was getting our carpet installed by Lowes while they were running a free installation special.
• @GhanimaAtreides Ya, unfortunately labor is where they make their money in construction. :/ 7,000 might still be high though. I would try to get other quotes from flooring people, really 5 is great, (including the HD quote). I generally like to throw out both the highest and the lowest number and then decide from the three in the middle. That said, if you feel comfortable doing it yourselves, then that's different. Being a Contractor, DH just does everything himself, but it's not really a fair comparison. Not every homeowner's handiness' are created equal! ;) Where do you feel like you guys fit in on the ole handy-o-meter?

WAYDTGKU: nothing yet, though contemplating acupuncture for this cycle. I'm so cheap though.

R/R/CS: Last cycle was a bear. I just switched my analysis setting back to Advanced from FAM, and it moved my O date back a couple days (I guess with a fallback rise). Which I wouldn't be sold on, but it will make my LP match, so maybe FF is right. Oh well, that cycle is done and gone, and I get to start all over again. And I never have to look at last cycle's chart again if I don't want to!

GTKY: honestly if I knew the answer to this question, I'd probably be doing it or working toward it right now.

WAYDTGKU: sex, charting, general healthy type things

R/R/CS: I have literally sat on my couch all day. I feel like a total fatty. I didn't feel good this morning and DH is on shift, so I've just sat here and read and watched Netflix and not seen or spoken to anyone.

GTKY: I don't think I would. I enjoy being a labor & delivery nurse and I can't think of anything I would like to do more for a paycheck.
