How long did you wait to do it? I have one left and thought about saving it for the same purpose.

Definitely do it with FMU! I shouldn't have taken it at night but thankfully it did turn. I got my BFP last Saturday at 10dpo and tested yesterday at 15dpo. According to my ovulation I should be 4 weeks and 3 days.

I may have had a bowl of ice cream for breakfast. No shame here, I couldn't sleep and when I finally did drift off one kiday or the other woke me up . Today I will live on sugar and caffeine .

    Edit because writing is hard.
  • Blueberry muffins are all I want right now. So I may have begged my mother like a child to make me some for this morning. She did. And they were amazing!
  • I brought lunch today to work but I just ordered a sandwich from a local deli because my lunch is so undesirable right now.

You and me both!  I blame that thread for my purchase of maternity skinny jeans ten minutes ago.  Who knows if they'll fit when the time comes. I did have some Kohls cash to burn, and there's a $10 off of $30 baby/maternity promo right now (babylove10 in case anyone's interested)...

  • I just want to eat bagels with cream cheese and purple olives for eternity. I can't do that, sadly. I know it will send me over the edge with starches and sugars. The true confession here is that I have a feeling I won't pass any of my GD screens. I just have an intuition. I don't really mind the potential needle part but the testing my sugars seems confusing. I'm putting it in the back of my mind and if I pass I'll be elated, but at this juncture I fear the failure. I know its cart before the horse. :(

  • @PrimRoseMama good luck! The pee has barely dried but I'm already trying to get on the wagon with the GD diet. I passed at 12ish weeks, but failed at 20ish weeks with my last pregnancy. I'm hoping if I start early with the diet, maybe I can trick my placenta into behaving properly.

  • @PrimRoseMama Okay, now I have to stop at the store on my way home for cream cheese and olives. Oh my gosh that's the only thing I want to eat right now!!!
  • Think I want to confess this here instead of the other post: I have totally already done 3 orders of cute maternity clothes that I found on zulily. Most were pink blush and I felt the prices were too good to pass us.

  • FFFC: I have half a glass of wine here and there later in pregnancy, eat all the cheeses and cold lunch meat, have a soda, drink coffee, eat seafood and if I liked sushi I would be eating it. I hate when someone asks if I should be doing X because old school doctors forget listeria is more found in spinach and bagged salads than my turkey.

I do the same except for the alcohol. That one is just too risky for me, but we each have our own threshold and its a judgment call. Also food policing (at any stage of life) makes me CRAZY. You (general you) worry about what you are eating and I'll worry about what I'm eating. If I have an issue or a question I'll go to my doctor-- not some random that feels the need to interrupt my meal with their lip-flapping.

  • Another FFFC is that I definitely side-eye/judge pregnant people when they are eating/drinking something that is not recommended. Personally, I feel like abstaining from certain foods and drinks for 9 months should not be difficult.

    Flame away.

I hate salads, but eat them occasionally or lunch to be "healthy." I will use any excuse not to eat salad, so thank you for your post. (and I actually quit last pregnancy too)
  • I won't drink any caffeine in the 1st trimester, but starting in 2nd I allow myself soda. Help so much with the headaches!
  • After reading this, i want sushi. oh, and i have wanted wine. lots of wine. it's been a rough week. stupid emotions.

  • The only food issue I find myself being judgy on is the alcohol. But I had a friend who would have a beer with dinner on occasion and her little man is the cutest I've ever seen with no issues, so it's all whatever you feel comfortable with.

I still drink tea with caffeine and I don't bat an eye at lunch meat or seafood. I say if we ever get an excuse to eat what we want, it's now. If the only that isn't going to make you vomit all over the place is a cup of coffee and a bologna sandwich, go for it.

    I fully support this.
Last night for dinner I ate a baked potato with shredded cheese, cheese sauce and sour cream (added some broccoli to make me feel less guilty), then I had some cookie cake for dessert. Then after we put our son down, I ate some cereal and then went back for more cookie cake. OMG what is wrong with me????? Seriously whoever said "only eat 300-500 extra calories a day" has never been pregnant. I am so starving all the time!!!

Mine was at 2-3 weeks, but you best believe I'll be taking another in two weeks to make sure it jumped to 3+!
  • On the subject of eating and being hungry, the other night for dinner I had a pork chop (ok healthy), then a chocolate cupcake, then 3 Sarris chocolate-covered pretzels, and then some graham crackers. The only reason I stopped eating was because I made myself go to bed at that point.

It's mostly sugar-free. I'm following the guidelines that the nutritionist I saw last time set for me -- so limited carbs including fruit, making sure I'm eating enough protein, etc. I am still going to take creamer in my coffee (and i'm still drinking under 200mg of coffee) -- and I'm not being strict about it quite yet. I did have a cookie today. And yesterday. But i'm working towards eliminating the baked deliciousness.

I'm a Maid Of Honor in a wedding in April and we're having the out of town bachelorette party next weekend at an indoor water park, and although DH and I agreed not to tell anyone until after we hear a heartbeat, I think I'm going to tell the bride (who is also my cousin) because I don't want to have to spend the whole weekend fending off peer pressure to drink and it would be nice to have her have my back so hopefully it won't get too bad. Also, I'm not telling DH that this is my plan.

This is my 2nd child, but his first and he's really private so it wouldn't even cross his mind to want to tell anyone yet, but I just feel like if I don't at least have someone else in the group to help me, I'm going to exhaust myself coming up with excuses not to drink and not be able to enjoy the company of the other ladies.

  • My Etsy order (which is our pregnancy announcement to our parents) is supposed to be delivered today so I have been refreshing the USPS tracking page every 30 minutes to see if it has been updated to "delivered." I am pathetic.

We went and looked at houses this morning! And saw some promising ones! Very excited.

I would like to delve further into my confession...

I'm actually overwhelmed and terrified because our plates are already so full and I've been blaming the crying on hormones. Maybe it is partially the hormones.
