@mnkenned I kept everything a couple boxes ago and all but one item in the following box. I realized that was an expensive habit to start so this time I kept two items. I unfortunately always fall in love with the most expensive things they send! I love the whole process though. It's nice not having to worry about showing up somewhere in the same outfit as someone else. That has happened to me a few times!!
I get so lightheaded and dizzy in the mornings... Usually starting at 7:30 when I arrive at work. I eat breakfast (Grapenuts with strawberries) at 6:00 in bed and have a full glass of water before I leave my house, but by the time I get to work it is so bad. I have been taking the elevator instead of the stairs and I try to sit while I'm teaching (class starts at 8:00). Today it's the worst. My students are taking benchmarks so I'm sitting here breathing calmly and evenly, drinking water, and eating cherry tomatoes (maybe a bit of sugar will help?). It lasts for about an hour each morning and then I usually get it randomly one more time during the day, but not as bad or as long. I've literally been seeing stars for 30 minutes this morning.
@lindsayleigh1989 Thanks for your suggestion of the Snoogle! Finally got mine delivered yesterday & last night was the best night sleep I have had in a few weeks!
How ridiculous would it be if I made my Mom take a car seat safety class before driving around baby? It's free so it's not like I'm making her pay for it, just SO much has changed from when my sister and I were babies.

Maybe talk her into going with you for company.
I didn't let my brother drive me anywhere when I was pregnant with my first.
@rlopezlavalle have you tried wearing compression socks? I am a nurse so I'm on my feet all day too, and these have been a lifesaver. I used to only wear them on my 12-hr shifts but now I need them all the time at work. Prior to wearing them, I would get random bouts of lightheadedness. One time I tried to ignore it and I got really sweaty, pale and almost passed out. Ever since I started wearing my stockings full-time, I haven't had one episode.
These are the kind I wear: https://www.totalcompressionsolutions.com I highly recommend them but I know they are more expensive than ones you can buy at pharmacies or medical supply stores. I got those particular ones because I have large calves and they don't cut into me like some other brands.
thats a great idea I haven't thought of yet! Thanks! I've got some from something else that are just sitting in my bathroom, so I'll give that a try. @sboston06

Hi, I'm a nurse as well and have not tried compression socks. I think it's time! Do they help with foot pain too? Which ones from that site do you recommend? Thanks!
My husband wanted to go on a date night so we had phô and went to see The Revenant. It was amazing but seriously intense and now I'm lying in bed like:
I am the most perfectionist, need a schedule and plan type person. DD has a bad cold and didn't sleep well last night. We were in the car for a 4 minute trip, and she fell asleep at 10:30. (Normally naps 12:30-2:30ish). I know she needs it, so I carried her in asleep, but my anxiety is already building. Will she need another nap, early bedtime? I feel lost now. Ahhh!
@whataboutscience I'm the same way -- well minus the perfectionist part! But I am super into DD's schedule and when she naps. "Nap anxiety" is a thing, for sure. But yeah with a cold/illness, it all goes out the window I guess. So I wouldn't worry too much, she'll probably sleep more than usual anyway. But if she doesn't take another nap, definitely try an early bedtime. Good luck, hope she gets to feeling better.
Well, she slept on me for over 2 hours which I did not expect. I'm thinking just an early bedtime. She'll probably get up really early tomorrow though... Oh well. Seems better after the nap at least and her lunch was better than everything she ate yesterday.
I'm so proud of my swap & sell stalking! After this weekend, we should have all of our nursery furniture, and will have a crib + the conversion set, a glider and a dresser/changing table combo for $250!
@clucas07 - sorry I'm just seeing this now...12 hr shift yesterday I have the EllipsisPro Knee High ones. I bought two pairs for $55 with the deal they have a lot. I think I signed up for emails and then when they had a sale I got them. I've had them for about a year now and just rotate between my two pairs (I work 4 days a week). Just wash in a regular cycle and hang to dry. I have also tried wearing the ones we give to patients (the plain white ones) but they don't have a wide thick band along the top and they cut into my legs and cut off the circulation. I have never dealt with foot pain but I know they help with aching calves at the end of a long work day. I started wearing them because I have varicose veins and I didn't want them to get worse from being on my feet all the time.
DH and I love to travel and I pretty much have my heart set on a Disney World trip for fall 2017. I am in happy planning mode now. We will have a 1 and 3 year old then. We like to have a trip to look forward to. Took DD on a cruise when she was 14 months. Not the same as vacation, but we enjoyed it.
Probably the thing I am most anxious about with regards to baby is the daycare situation. I am a nurse and work alternating shifts and am basically a nightmare to plan around for daycare purposes. To make things worse, my area is super expensive and the only place I can afford is through my workplace, but there's a waitlist. I was so nervous until today I discovered Care.com and found several in-home daycares in my area! It is definitely something I want to look into further. My sister and SIL both used an in-home daycare for their kids and had a great experience, so it's something I feel comfortable looking into. Really helped relieve some of my panicky feelings!
@whataboutscience - DH works Mon-Fri 6:30-5ish including commute, but will definitely be watching the baby on weekends when I'm working. Another option I've considered is working 12 hr shifts every weekend, but I think that will get really old really fast! From what I've seen from my siblings and cousins' children, daycare provides a lot of socialization too. So I definitely think I'd like to send him or her to daycare a couple of days a week.
Referring back to that "never say never" thread, I never thought I would even consider being a SAHM and now that I'm pregnant, I'm actually considering it. I don't think we could afford it, but it's fun to think about.
Anyone else experiencing shortness of breath? Mine just started about 3 days ago. At first I thought I ate too much that day. But now it's happened every day since. Gah. I didn't think it would happen this early (19+4). I guess I should be honest it's quite possible I've eaten too much 4 days in a row.
@Racso12 - Yes, I've been experiencing this on and off. Very early in pregnancy (like 3-4 weeks) it happened to me too and felt like a panic attack. Now, it feels different like I'm out of shape, but sometimes it happens when I'm just adjusting my position on the couch lol. In the first trimester, shortness of breath is due to increasing progesterone. I imagine in this trimester, it's due to the increased heart rate and more feeling out of breath than actually BEING out of breath. And in the third trimester, shortness of breath is due to decreased lung expansion from baby taking up too much space and pushing up on the diaphragm.
I could be wrong about the physiology explanation as I'm not a maternity nurse, but this just makes sense to me!

Yes! Shortness of breath and heartburn have started for me recently. I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow.
@sboston06 Let me know how it works out with care.com. I started checking it out but there are so many people on there offering services, I just don't know where to begin to find the right person...
