Infertility

If you had a laparascopy before.

How long was it till you had sex? Its been 5 days and i can't even think about it.. The dr said wait one cycle to try but i wonder if i would be healthy and healed enough to sustain pregnancy.. I am going to give it two times of trying naturally and then moving to ivf.. i have no time to waste. i am almost 40 ( in august ) I just want to make sure i don't try too soon..  Also , did you sleep on back for awhile.. I have lots of discomfort in sides where incisions were and where tube was taken out. so I've been sleeping on my back which is soo uncomfortable.

I had a hysteroscopy/laparoscopy in July 2015 to fix a slight t-shape uterus and to remove a massive amount of endo (it was all the way up to my liver and diaphragm, and I had another lap 6 months prior to that to get my gallbladder taken out, which was likely malfunctioning because it was stuck in endo). I had my lap mid-cycle, and because of the hysteroscopy, I had quite a bit of bleeding. My next period was also a few days late, likely because I developed a cyst that went away after a few days. My RE gave me the okay to start treatments the next cycle (so 15 days or so after all this). We did letrozole, follistim and our first IUI. I can't recall now if any intercourse happened sometime between my period, but I'm going to say likely not. It was thankfully our lucky cycle (IUI took place just about exactly a month after the surgery). I'd wait til you feel comfortable again, but I'd assume you should then be fine. As for sleeping, I honestly can't remember...I may have slept on my back more. Do whatever feels comfortable to you. Good luck!

I think we waited about 10 days or so but I also had a lap/ hysteroscopy combo so I was told nothing in vag for at least a week. We had to wait 2 months for my uterus to heal fully before beginning treatments. If your dr says your fine to TTC after 1 cycle I would go by that. Did your dr do a hysteroscopy or anything inside your uterus? If not I don't see why you would have a problem sustaining a pregnancy.

ETA: I'm sorry you're still so uncomfortable! It should get better soon! I've had the surgery several times and it seems to get easier every time (I'm thinking its because I know what to expect).

Me: Endo, PCOS, septated uterus (mostly removed)
