  • Month/Cycle: 3/2 TTCAL

    CD: 28, ugh

    WAYDTGKU: temping, charting, HIO

R/R/CS: This feels like the never ending cycle because my temps are still all over the place with no spike. We keep HIO just in case. I'm lucky H is around a lot this month, but pretty soon he'll be back to working crazy hours and this will get harder.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? I'm in PA Dutch country and yesterday was Fasnacht day! It's a fried donut but tastes more like a funnel cake (way better than a donut in my opinion), and it's the day before Lent starts. Traditionally, it was to use up the lard, sugar, fat, and butter before Lent starts.

We also always have pork and sauerkraut on New Year's day for good luck :) I recently moved back here and it's really funny to be around this stuff again.

    WAYDTGKU: All the things.

R/R/CS: FF kept my dotted CH for CD17...if they're still there tomorrow I guess I'll head over to TWW! Until then, still doing my WTO thing.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?
I've lived here 8 years and have no idea, really. I grew up at the beach on the east coast, there is a dance everyone learns called the "shag" and I always get side-eyed any time I mention it outside of my home state.
  • Month/Cycle: 9/7

    CD: 27

    WAYDTGKU: Most of the things

R/R/CS: I'm with @kns1988 my Temps are all over the place! Feeling frustrated this cycle.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? Nothing too special although Pirate Weekend is pretty entertaining. The opening night, the village plays The Goonies in the park :)

    WAYDTGKTFU: temping, PNVs

R/R/CS: Well, no spike today. I am no longer ovulating like clockwork, but that's ok. I'm looking at it as an opportunity to get in some better timing now that my neck feels better.

GTKY: Providence has an awesome event called Waterfire that happens several times a year. They light huge bonfires in the river that goes through the city and bring lots of food and craft vendors out for a sort of festival. It's really neat.
  • Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD: 10

    WAYDTGKU: ugh

R/R/CS: I feel completely deflated. SO and I tried to BD last night, it's not even prime time yet, he knows this, but his performance anxiety hit us again. We agreed I won't tell him when it's O this month but even that isn't helping us. My opk is getting darker and I'm so scared we are going to completely flunk this month and we're spending  £50 a pop on acupuncture for nothing!

Last night was awful and we both got very upset. WTF.

  • Month/Cycle: 3/2 (NTNP technically)

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: all the things- NTNP while charting and having husband check CP/CM is hard... We aren't stupid and have an idea how things work so we're pretty much TTC without me saying "I think I'm going to ovulate in the next 3 days", it's more of an unspoken understanding lol.

R/R/CS: **question** or more confirming what I've found on old searches.  1. My test time is 6 a.m. I pretty regularly wake up at 2-3. If I can go back to sleep by 4 I use the 6 am time, if I can't I use the 2-3 a.m. time? I'm lame and go to bed at 9 p.m. These 6 am chart times fit in fine still, but it's also my first month charting.
    2. My chart is "pretty" besides one chart spike when I thought I was still on my period/drank the night before. I leave the temperature until it's causing an issue with me not getting crosshairs?

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? Not really. My town has one of those old time reenactment places where we got to take field trips and churn butter (never chop wood since I was a girl  )
  • @kns1988 I live in SC now, but I'm from western PA! I still eat pork and sauerkraut on New Year's Day. Down here, they eat black eyed peas and collard greens....good for you but not my favorite...

@houseofsettters I live near Myrtle Beach, so I definitely know what the shag is! The funny thing is I grew up in PA and "Shag" was one of my favorite movies when I was younger!

    WAYDTGKU: EPO, PNV, BBT

R/R/CS: Bummed about having to take another month off from fertility treatments. Just waiting for AF to leave so we can start HIO.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?
I can't think of anything this morning...but I'm  sure there are lots!
  • babymish. That has to be so frustrating. DH gets like that sometimes too. He always thinks he can recover but it usually ruins the mood for both of us. Don't worry. You still have time

EmilyM1121sldp123. Keep all temps in to have them. If something is throwing your chart out of wack, FF will disregard the temp anyway. It still leaves it one your chart but I believe it turns to an open circle instead of a dot.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1 TTCAL

    CD: 4

WAYDTGKU: Waiting for AF to leave, then everything. Wondofo OPKs should be here today.

R/R/CS: Just crazy work stuff. People always want a weeks worth of work done yesterday. Other than that, I've been working really hard to stay optimistic and so far I think I'm doing an okay job with it.

kns1988, we have the same tradition except its Polish in origin. It's celebrated as Fat Tuesday here but my family and I got together and made Paczkis last weekend especially for Fat Tuesday. And they were soooooo good.

WAYDTGKU: Letrozole, PNV, Vitamin D, will start OPKs on Saturday per RE recommendation.

R/R/CS: Tonight is my last night of Letrozole. I haven't had any side effects other than drowsiness. I've been sleeping like a baby! RE called yesterday and said egg supply and quality (FSH? FMH? Can't remember which alphabets apply) were both great! Now if we can just get one of these eggs to exit my ovary and meet DH's sperm, that'd be great. ;)

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? I'm in a big city, so too many to mention...does ComiCon count?  People walking around the city in odd costumes in the middle of the day  - pretty strange!

R/R/CS: we're in such a weird spot right now. We recently moved meaning I had to leave my job. I don't really want to get KU before having s job but I don't want to stop trying.
I have an interview today and I'm super nervous. Plus I'm not positive the job is what I want (mostly because of the hours).. But I feel I can't wait and like I have to take it (if I'm lucky enough to get it) to make sure I'm secure should we end up lucky and get KTFU anytime in the next month or two.
Really torn and creating more anxiety.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?
yes! Yesterday was pancake day which is similar to @kns1988 except there's a near tradition where your pancakes used to tell your fortune by putting things in the pancake such as money, thimble, screw, ring etc that would tell you what sort of career you will have or marry into. It's one of my most favourite days! DH actually proposed by putting a ring (amongst other things) in my pancake one year!!

the other thing we do is screech people in to be an honorary Newfoundlander. It's a huge process that involves kissing a fish - Google it! It's so much fun!

WAYDTGKU: temping, cm, sex, prenatal, going to use preseed for the first time soon.

R/R/CS: I had my hardest ttc day ever last night. I just got extremely sad that it hasn't happened for us.
Also, I was hoping to O on CD 14, that's when I ovulated last month and FF says it's my average day.. really I just want O To be semi predictable. But thus far it really doesn't feel like I'm going to O any time soon. CM is still dry for the most part.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? I'm sure we do..."keep Portland weird", and all. I can't think of any, though. Oh, naked bike ride? Is that just a Portland thing? H and I aren't very "Portland", we don't generally get into anything here.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? I don't think any are considered 'weird' (maybe they are and I'm just use to them so they seem normal?) • @EmilyM1121 i struggle to temp at the same time every day because my sleep is weird now due to LO.  However, when i was TTC#1, i noticed that for me it was more important that i temp after having a solid block of sleep than it was that it be at the same time every day.  I think this largely depends on the person.  Some people get better info if they do the same exact time regardless of sleep and others are better off temping after any good stretch of sleep.  So that's what i'm using now...if i wake up in the middle of the night, as long as i've been asleep for at least 3 hours, i temp then and use that.

    Month/Cycle: 2 (NTNP)

    CD: 12

WAYDTGKU: temping, looking out for CM, sex when we feel like it

R/R/CS: No fertile CM yet, and i've never O'd before CD19, so i probably still have a while.  My first two O's post-partum had a lead in of several large batches of CM a few days apart before i actually ovulated.  That may be my new normal?  When TTC#1 i would just have one batch a day or two before O-day.  It's a new ballgame this time around.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? Not that i know of.

  • **Q in R/R/CS**

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU:  I forgot to temp this morning, will start back tomorrow.

R/R/CS:  I only have 1 full month of temping on the books to make inferences from.  It appears my LP is only 10 days, and my partial month prior to that, AF came on day 10 DPO (estimated since I didn't temp for a full cycle) as well.  I'm going to break out TCOYF again today, but is a short LP impactful when TTGP?  I guess it just means my window for implantation is shorter than a longer LP?  Is this too short, or within the 'normal' range?

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?

I'm a northerner (from around the Philadelphia area) living in the south (NC) so I'm still learning the 'southern way'.  One weird thing I can't get used to - most retailers are closed until noon on Sunday.

WAYDTGKU:  Metformin, PNV, temping, I think I'll do OPKs next week maybe...

R/R/CS:  This next month will be a learning month for me so hopefully I can get some good data and possibly a little bit of understanding about my body by the time that my husband gets back home!

We are currently in the process of moving to a new rental house a few miles down the road and yesterday we had 3 pickups and 2 SUVs full of stuff.  Today, my husband is getting 8 of his friends and a U-Haul to get the rest of the big furniture and kitchen stuff.  I'm super happy that they're helping, but also terrified because I wouldn't consider any of them "gentle" and they have to move my dishes and TVs haha

GTKY:  Well, we just moved to the panhandle of Florida last year and everywhere around here starts celebrating Mardi Gras almost immediately after New Years!  Coming from the Midwest, I find it very interesting!

Uggg that set me back a little we haven't done the dirty in two days, we will try to HIO the next few days (assuming this is even O) but I'm just hoping I'm someone who gets the positive 72 hours in advance ;)

@EmilyM1121, if i were you, I would set my alarm for 2 AM, temp everyday at that time and go back to sleep just to be more consistent.

    Month/Cycle: 5/4

WAYDTGKU: All hands on deck. Starting OPKs today.

R/R/CS: Hoping ovulation is nearing. Had a temp dip today although my body likes to fake me out. We'll see  what happens in the next few days.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? There is a popular annual festival in the next town and people like to put their lawn chairs out along the parade route ahead of time. It's become kind of a joke so the chairs come out earlier and earlier, like a month before the festival. For some reason, I just love seeing the chairs show up, slowly filling up along Main Street.

ETA: Eek, EWCM!!! It's usually hardly noticeable/questionable - maybe the green tea is working?

  • @ShallowSeas my temps are all over the place, too. Do you have any idea if it could be because of the meds? This is my first month on Clomid and my temps seem overall higher than normal, and just very rocky. I was afraid I somehow O'd super early because of a really high temp a couple days ago.

My temps are lower this month and my first thought was that the Letrozole had an effect on it. I can't think of any other changes that would cause it; I'm not breathing through my mouth that I'm aware of, my bedroom's not much colder if at all, and i'm temping the same time as I always do.

R/R/CS:  New to the whole temp thing and my chart does not look as pretty as y'alls.  Mine has a high, low and now a high so it has circles for two of my three temps.  Who knows what will happen this month?  A part of me thinks it will be ok if it doesn't happen this month because we have a family trip next month and it would be nice to be able to still enjoy adult beverages, but I know whenever I get to the TWW I will go BSC and be very sad for a BFN.  All these emotions just make me grumpy.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?  I don't think so.  I moved from Texas to Oklahoma a few years ago so I haven't really had a chance to learn tons about every thing Oklahoma has to offer. I did like it when we were in Texas if there was any bluebonnet flowers on the side of the road people would just pull over and take pictures.  It just makes me smile to see it.

And me putting extra pressure in H to HIO has been killing the mood vs helping anything. So monitoring other things and just having regular sex will have to do... we have pretty high sex drives usually so chances are if I relax a bit things could happen. Sorry, crazy anxious these last could of days and needed to vent somewhere. I really appreciate all the support here with others who are struggling too. WAYDTGKU: starting OPKs today

R/R/CS: Found out I got a new job today! :)  I won't actually be starting it for a while though.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?

TONS. I live in France, so pretty much everything seemed weird at first! Some things that come to mind are that Halloween is pretty much non-existent, but kids dress up at school for Mardi Gras (but there are no parades or other celebrations for Mardi Gras oddly enough). EVERYTHING is closed on Sundays (except for certain mini convenient stores in Paris) AND between 12 and 2 PM for lunch!

In my (US) hometown, you have to tell a joke to get candy when you trick-or-treat.

WAYDTGKU: All the thangs to get ready for my FW - PNV, BBT, checking CM

R/R/CS: Creepin' up on my FW! Woo Hoo!

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?  Not weird traditions, per se, but my town is known for swans.  Queen Elizabeth donated a pair of swans after all of ours died off and got eaten by alligators in the 1950's.  So we have lots of pretty white and black swans that are descended from royalty!

We also have Pigfest every year, which is a BBQ festival that has a big draw of people from other towns to come in. It's always super busy and jam packed full of people, so I didn't go this year. Pulled pork tacos, BBQ egg rolls, and apple dump cake are my favorites from the event. :)

WAYDTGKU: PNV, BBT, CM/CP, OPK, lots o'sex

R/R/CS: Started using OPKs again today and I'm not thrilled about it. Does anyone else NOT have luck with these guys? I use them in the morning because I drink too much water throughout the day (I have IBS and the medication makes me very dehydrated.) but I'm worried that I'm missing that window to know when I'm ovulating. I feel like FF charts are giving me proof that I O'd with my temps, etc, and I feel pretty comfortable with that. Anyone else have problems with OPKs? Are they really essential? I've been using Clearblue OPK. Should I change it up? Thanks for any advice!!

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? Ha! I live in San Francisco. Every other day is another fest, party, celebration of some sort. One of my faves: Bay 2 Breakers - A run through the city that the ENTIRE city comes out for. Everyone dresses up in ridiculous costumes and runs from one side of the city to the other, mostly while drinking. We basically have a fair or fest for every neighborhood throughout the summer. Fun place to live!
  • @kenya715  I've been using the CB advanced OPKs for 7 cycles now and they seem to work for me, however, sometimes I'll get way more days of flashing smileys than other cycles.  The peak day does seem to line up with my CM and also my temps now that I'm temping.  They are certainly not essential if you get the hang of temping and CM.  I really just keep using them as another check.  I am starting to think that if I'm not KU by the time I'm at the end of my current supply of OPKs then I will stop using them or switch to wondfos.  If the OPKs keep just giving you trouble/stress, then you should be able to rely on only CM and BBT if you become more comfortable with your cycles.
  • Sorry for everyone who is going thru a rough TTC day today.
