You celebrate farts and burps more than you ever thought you would
I second this!

Not so much because of the infant, but waking up for the middle of the night feedings and sit there singing the theme song from Paw Patrol... thank you, toddler.
ETA: When you're walking around at a Super Bowl party with a pacifier in your mouth because you handed off the baby (who spit out said pacifier) and you have no pockets, so you shove it in your own mouth until you can put it back in the diaper bag, but you're so sleep deprived that you forget...
You thank all the Gods when baby finally lets you put them down to sleep, but then either miss them or worry they're not breathing when they sleep longer than expected
Lol at pretty much agreeing to a T to what you all have said, especially celebrating a bowel movement and getting excitement out of picking boogers. DH thinks I am twisted because I love using the nasal aspirator on him every couple of days. I also liked knowing that the few times we had to stimulate him with a thermometer to get him to poop that some relief was coming on not only his end...literally, but DH and I would get a break from his constant crying and fussiness over not being able to go.
For me, it has been the few times I've been nagged at (in a loving way) for worrying too much about DS. I've already gotten the; "relax and enjoy yourselves" talk from both my mom and my MIL. When I call or text DH about how he's doing, he has no resorted to sarcasm and telling me he's been abducted by aliens or that he has him upstairs helping him out with our renovations with an electric drill in his hands. Pretty much, I need to take a chill pill and realize that DS is in amazing hands and I do need to just relax and enjoy whatever free time I have.
Not showering everyday, and my hair being a birds nest for a whole month now. Also feeling like an Olympic gold medalist when he goes right to sleep in the crib!
I had a I'm a mother to an infant again moment about a week after he was born. It was 3am and while other 25 yr olds might be getting home from the bar I was getting projectile pooped on. I have a 5 yr old and I'm not kidding this was way over the top! I took pictures it was so ridiculous. Which might be another thing that a mother would do ha.
@bbrownlee1 I'm 23 and have had the same thoughts about people my age coming home from the bar!! Doesn't bother me at all though, I'd take my new life over theirs any day
When you spend so much time getting everyone else ready for family pictures that you leave the house in slippers and actually make it out of the driveway before realizing it
I've left the house keys in the front door three times now... ive lost my car keys multiple times i haven't fixed my hair - it's pulled up all the time i haven't worn makeup I live in my pjs or yoga pants id rather wear house slippers than regular shoes getting spit up on, and falling asleep with wet clothes because moving the sleeping baby is just too risky...
When you haven't had a mani/pedi in weeks (or in my case since LO was born) and don't foresee taking the time to get that done anytime soon (and really purchasing a box of diapers seems like a much better use of that money anyway).
before the baby, I'd either be mad or desperate/crying over being up during the middle of the night because I can't sleep. Now, I know the exact reason as to why I, "can't sleep" and it's not all that bad once you take a look down at what's keeping you up.

This, I had insomnia before baby now it's actually nice that I have a reason to be up
I went to church by myself, because DD was having a bad day. I was only gone an hour and a half, but I missed her so much! (and ditto on the going to bed early. I was asleep at 7pm last night!)
-Hand me downs never sounded so good! -you weigh the pros and cons of taking the boppy with you every time you leave the house -every little mark or spot on LO raises way more concern than it should -your reason for wanting to stay in usually involves the fact that you have nothing that fits right
You want to run out to do errands but you have a fear of taking LO in public strictky because if she wakes up she will cry and you don't want to be "that person".
@happyandhopeful3 I go upstairs and start night time routine of bath pjs and feeding by 7 then as soon as I get the baby to sleep I go to sleep until he wakes to eat! I love going to bed early haha
@happyandhopeful3 DS gets incredibly cranky wanting bedtime routine to start no later than 7. He is 7 weeks old now tho, but I started doing a strict bedtime routine for him around 2 weeks old whenever he got hungry around 7-9 and now he knows when it's getting close to that time. He does wake up around 11/12 and then 3/4 but it usually gets me to bed no later than 9 which is great!
I agree with the always being slightly damp and taking forever to prep for going out of the house. I don't run errands or get groceries without a list now vs before I just browsed and took my time and that is definitely not possible now
Re: You know you're a mom when...
"Useless"
"Will never be used"
"Unnecessary"
"I hope they kept the receipt"
"Oh! This is a present from someone with kids. Thank God."
I started going into detail about my sons poop
I stopped and said "god, I'm such a mom"

Oh god......I am my mother!
I never cried from being happy before until the moment he was put into my arms. Such a different feeling!

You get excited when your baby has a good poop
You get excited when your fussy baby farts and burps so she feels better
eta:i should have read these first lol. I just repeated people i

Asking as someone who would love to go to bed early but 11/12 is the last feeding for the night (before 2/3 am feeding).
