Re: Week of 2/1/16 Randoms

  • I'm a total stomach sleeper and the compromise I made is to sleep snuggling my snoogle with my left side propped up and my belly in the little pocket that the diagonal makes. Putting my leg over it helps with the hip pain too. I've been sleeping like a baby.

  • Ps where's the weekend thread? I refuse to believe people don't have things they would like to bitch about in a fest-like manner.
  • One of my staff today did a double handed belly rub, she was right in there. So then we had a lovely do not touch people in the workplace conversation
  • @BeachTigress
You can also check into one of the services that handles the pump ordeal for you. I attempted to go through my insurance and figure it out on my own but it was hell. Then I signed up with AeroFlow because it showed up in The Bump app and they took care of everything. They called me a week after I filled out the form and told me what my insurance would cover and asked what I'd like, then they Fed Ex'd it to me the following week. When you get it can depend on your insurance because some require first trimester and some won't send it out until baby's birth.

I didn't pay a dime and the form I filled out was very short, they basically need your insurance info and your OB's phone number/address (for the prescription.)
  • DD and I both slept really poorly and we have so much stuff to do today. :-(

  • @PinkLady2015 @mnkenned that's how I've been sleeping too, with the pillow propping up my stomach and one leg hiked over. It's the best compromise I can make

  • @pandaferh thanks! I did not know that I could do that either.
@DeriveMyPi I have never heard of that but part of that sounds amazing. So far I have only had family, like one or two people, and my work wife touch my belly and I do not mind.

  • I punched my sisters shoulder when she touched my belly first pregnancy. We are close but not a huggy family, she was also 19. Nope just nope. I need 7 shirts that say "unless you put it there don't touch it". No one would touch me not pregnant and T doesn't give you the right to do so while pregnant.
  • Hubby started painting the nursery yesterday! We decided on a monster inc theme... I'm so excited :)
What colors are you choosing? Are you doing the baby monsters inc collections? I love it!
  • No one has touched my stomach, I think it is because I am chubby. And I am ok with that!

  • I used to be heavier and now that I've lost weight, my friends think I'm "thin." As soon as I announced both of my pregnancies, people starting noticing my spare tire of flab from my heavier days and poking it calling it the baby. I am self conscious enough about it and that is why I think I really hate people touching me.

  • With my first pregnancy the day I told my two male bosses I was expecting one of them tried to touch my stomach. I was only 11 weeks. I backed away and told him if he actually touched where the baby was we would have a sexual harassment case on our hands. Neither one of them tried to touch me again after that.
ewww gross, glad you didn't let that happen... MIL is one thing... creepy male boss is a totally different story.
  • Random question for everyone who has a Snoogle or similar pillow: In a queen size bed, is there room for you, the pillow, and your SO? Sleep is getting uncomfortable, so it's time for a pregnancy pillow, but I don't want to have to go to the guest room. Neither of us sleep well when the other isn't there.

I'm in a queen and have a snoogle it works fine sometimes I move a lot and just remember to scootch it back over when I wake up but really it hasn't been an issue at all

  • I use a body pillow it works great
  • No one has touched my stomach either. My old co-worker/friend tried but she pulled her hand right back when she saw the "b*tch don't try it" look on my face.
  • I have had patients do the belly rub. I got over it fast.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • @PleaseSendPicklesNow we have a queen bed, and I find the snoogle to be inconvenient at times. If it's inbetween H and I it feels a bit tight. BUT I have to say, and inconvenience is outweighed by how comfortable it is and I sleep much better with it

We are! It's adorable and DH pointed out last night that it's something he can grow with for a little bit :) we are doing the Disney paint colors Half Pipe (which is a light blue) and Mikes Mayhem (a lime green). Most of the room is going to be blue and then there is ond slanted wall we are going to paint in the lime green.

It's not a problem at all in a queen bed. I wish I had one with my first pregnancy!

  • So we set up our swing to test it and the high speed setting was really fast so I may have put a stuffed animal In it to make sure it wouldn't fly out haha it didn't but I don't think a baby needs to go that fast at least my nerves don't it to go that fast right away ;)

  • Thanks for the Snoogle advice! Ordering one now.

Don't worry, it will go much slower once it has some weight in it!

Exactly what I was going to say. We had a little portable one, but anything less than top speed hardly kept it swinging with baby in it.

  • @BeachTigress I recommend giving your insurance company a call. I've now had two pregnancies with two separate insurance companies, and both have been super helpful. They can give you information for how to access the web site(s) to order your pump. I was able to place my order 4-6 weeks prior to my due date, and I had the pump well before DS arrived. I personally wouldn't want to wait until my pp appointment (I had one at 4 weeks and one at 8 weeks) for a pump as I was using mine within the first week DS was born.
