Activities to do with Baby!

I found an app called BabySparks that has lots of activities that you can do with baby to help with their development. It's kind of fun and helps break up the monotony of the day. Just wanted to share in case anyone was looking for stuff to do! It was a free download but I paid 4.99 for the in app purchase with more activities.

Does anyone one else have experience using this or other similar apps?

  • I think it has good activities and have enjoyed using it so far. My sister is an Occupational Therapist and I showed her the activities and she said they were all legit developmental things that are definitely helpful. It's also fun for me and I feel like I'm spending quality time with him. Plus it helps break the cycle of just feeding, changing and napping.

I only downloaded the first 6 months for 4.99 and then if I like it, I'll buy the 6-12.
  • I downloaded it after reading your recommendation. I paid for the upgrade as well. We did the activities today and like you I enjoyed having set things to do out of the basics. And today my little one rolled over to his back when doing tummy time. Proud mamma moment. :)
  • I like it! I downloaded it, and paid for the 0-6 month expansion. I have The Wonder Weeks app. I paid for that, and I can't remember what it was. I think either 2.99 or 3.99.

I also have Baby Tracker. I paid for that, and it was 4.99. You can log  food/sleep/diapers/breastfeeding. There are other things such as baby's weight, milestones etc. I don't breastfeed, but the other three things are really helpful for me. I like that it charts the data daily, weekly, monthly. It helps me keep track of time in between feedings and I can set different alarms. There is a free version, but I wanted the ability to have the charts and data beyond the 10 day trial period.
  • I downloaded baby sparks after reading this, I like it so far.  I was using Feed Baby as a free app to chart feedings, diapers, etc - I think it worked well but I stopped using it because she cluster feeds so it was annoying to keep tracking.
  • I downloaded the app and paid for the upgrade as well! My question is when did you start doing these activities with LO and for how long at a time? DS is 4.5 weeks old and the only thing he's interested in is nursing, sleeping, and activies only whe being held.  If I try to put him down for tummy or activity time, he just gets fussy. Thoughts? FTM here and wondering if he'll eventually enjoy these activities on a mat.
  • I started doing them at 2 weeks. He tolerates tummy time pretty well so I just try to do as much as I can while he's in a good mood. I also do a lot of the activities during diaper changes.
  • @Trisham1201 I started these activities at just over 2 weeks. In my new born class I took our instructor said to do tummy time for about 15-30 sec intervals at first and if he gets frustrated put your hand on his back to comfort and also lay down next to him so when he lifts his head he's seeing eye to eye with you. That has been helping for us when he doesn't like being on his tummy.
  • I've been doing tummy time just by lying on my back and putting my son face down on me, with his head near mine. He squirms to look at my face, especially when I talk to him, but doesn't mind it as he would bring on a mat.
  • I started baby sparks af 3 weeks.  The doctor recommended tummy time start at 3 days old but we had to stop until her cord fell off because it was irritating it.  The activities are based on age - so at 5 weeks it's like move her arms, bicycle her legs, etc
