So I keep being told that "things get better" for moms and babies during 8-12 weeks. In my case I hope this means less purple crying, less baby gas, and hopefully at least three hours of sleep. Any STM find this to be true? any ftm have a baby in this age range and have noticed a difference?
Re: Baby at 8-12 weeks
Edited because use my I phone still autocorrects my sons name to Coke
There's hope, ladies! I promise!
I just feel like people act like she's not normal, they want her to be awake for hours and hold her, but the main way I stave off the purple crying now is to make sure I can get her to sleep after being up for an hour, maybe once a day she is up two hours. My mom said to me "it doesn't sound like she's on much of a schedule" is she supposed to be? She's just 5 weeks old. I feel like because she is a big girl (11.2 lbs) people think and expect her to be older almost. What kind of schedule can a 5 week old be on? All the sleep books I have said don't start a schedule till 3.5-4 months.
ETA the absolute best thing is he hasn't had Zantac for a few days and slept flat for the first time ever last night.
@misamima Thanks, will do. I'm okay with him needing as much time as he needs. I am just scheduled to return to work on the 24th so its why I hope he gets a little better by 12 weeks so theres a positive experience with a caregiver so I don't have to resign from my position.
During the day however is a whole diff story. This kid constantly wants to be in my arms. The minute I put him down its hysterics and he will have bouts of purple crying also. I'm really hoping things get better cause getting things done during the day around the house is so difficult. Sometimes i have to just put him down and let him cry it out so I can get stuff done. Breaks my heart.
DS will only be 2w adjusted age (8w based on birth date) this Wednesday. It is in the back of my mind in regards to getting over certain hurdles and knowing that he may be further along birth date wise, before growing out of some of the early newborn stuff.
